Bennett Mazzone grew up ignorant of the truth: he is the illegitimate son of the most powerful mafia boss in New York. Until it suited his father to drag him into a world where power, wealth, violence, and cruelty are the only currency. Celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Sin City should be fun for Sierra Lawson, but events take a deadly turn when she ends up in a private club, surrounded by dangerous men who always get what they want. And they want her. Ben can’t believe his ex’s little sister is all grown up, stunningly beautiful, and close to being devoured by some of the most ruthless men he has ever known. The Vegas trip is about strengthening ties, but he won’t allow his associates to ruin her perfection. Although it comes at a high price, saving Sierra is his only choice. The memory of Ben’s hands on her body is seared into Sierra’s flesh for eternity. She doesn’t regret that night. Not even when she discovers the guy she was crushing on as a teenager is a cold, calculating killer with dark impulses and lethal enemies who want him dead. Understanding the risks, she walks away from the only man she will ever love, stowing her secrets securely in her heart. Until the truth becomes leverage and Sierra is drawn into a bloody war—a pawn in a vicious game she doesn’t want to play. Condemned to Love is Siobhan Davis’s newest addictive novel. I have loved every one of her books and when she announced she was writing a mafia story…I was screaming inside. I love mafia and with Siobhan’s additive storylines I knew I was going to fall hard and want more before I even started. I was right. Sierra fell in love when she was thirteen. Her love was twenty-one and dating her devil of a sister. She knew she was too young for him but her heart knew he was it. He was the only one who saw her and didn’t treat her like an outsider. She didn’t understand why he was with her sister. She wasn’t too surprised when it didn’t work out but didn’t understand how he could just disappear. She didn’t think she would ever see Bennett again. That was until her twenty first birthday. In Vegas. And he was definitely not the man she fell in love. He was a cold-blooded killer. A sexy AF one who gave her a night she would never forget and one he says wasn’t memorable at all. Six years ago he threw her out like the trash and now he wants to protect her. It’s a complicated story. One I can’t get into without spoiling all the fun twists and oh, fuck moments. I will say I loved it. I love them. It was rollercoaster of emotions from anger to swooning. From laughing to crying. I know it states it’s a standalone but I am so hoping it turns into a series! Quotes: “Don’t pretend you weren’t doing some fantasizing of your own, Firefly.” “You’re still just a little girl trying to fit into a world you don’t belong in.” “Bennett! What have you done to this girl?” “Nothing she hasn’t enjoyed.”

Don’t Kiss the Bride is Carian Cole newest badass standalone novel. I don’t read blurbs but I did know it was an age-gap romance and I love those and don’t get to read them enough. I knew I would be addicted from the beginning until the end. It’s Carian after all and her characters and words just do it for me.
The moment Lucky saw her he knew she was unique. Special. And totally off-limits. That first glimpse was not attraction, it was something different. She was only in high school and she just wasn’t like the other students. She had spark. He saw that before he even talked to her later that day when he car broke down in the parking lot. From that moment he wanted to help her. Then when she fainted in front of him, he wanted to protect her. From there they became friends and when he got to know more of her situation he wanted to take her out of her tower. He married her to save her. To do something nice for a girl who needed to be free of worry. One of the rules was not to kiss on their wedding day. Or ever. Fate stepped in, broke that rule and it went crazy from there.
Lucky didn’t want to want her. He was thirty-four. She was eighteen. She had her whole life to live. Senior year antics. College. First love and heartbreak. He didn’t want to get in the way of all that. He wanted her to be happy and free. She was too young for him but it felt right. They laughed together. They got each other. Clicked but he also felt it was wrong.
Skylar liked him. He was sweet and rough around the edges. He made her feel safe and protected. He gave her a home, a chance, and everything she ever needed. But they both knew it was temporary. The marriage wasn’t real but that kiss was. It set off something in her. She knew he felt it too. They were not supposed to fall. They didn’t believe in fairy tales. They were just playing pretend.
OMFG I loved this book! Skylar might only be eighteen but she had lived a hard life. A life where she was on her own. I loved her outfits, her strength, and her overall badassness. I related with her with some of her issues so I just wanted to hug her. Jude is more than he believes. I loved their banter. The flirty side and funny side. I felt their connection from the start and his conflicting feelings. He is a good man with a big heart.
Overall…it’s a rollercoaster, get on. You will love it. I laughed. I cried. I swooned. I giggled. I felt it all. Every emotion. I can’t wait to see what Carian has for us next.
“You’re thirty-four?” Skylar squeaks with bulging eyes. “I didn’t know you were that old.”
“Hey, it’s not that old,” I say defensively. I’ve got a fuckin’ six-pack under my shirt, not a dad bod.
I’ve slowly fallen for her smile. My favorite curve.
“Take some deep breaths. What are you wearing?”
My fingers tighten around the phone. “Um, are we going there with this call?”
“I meant for your texture touching.”
“Oh,” I say, feeling stupid.
“But if you want to describe your outfit in detail, I’m not opposed,” he jokes.
