5 out of 5 stars

The Virgin Rule Book is the first book in a new series, Rules of Love, by my favorite author, Lauren Blakely. I’ve read every word she’s written and nothing makes me happier than when she starts a new series. This series is going to be epic! We’re getting three sexy baseball players and the strong, independent women who they fall for. Nadia is Crosby’s best friend’s little sister. Crosby always had a little thing for her when they were younger, but she was young and he didn’t think his best friend would like that. They’ve kept in touch over the years and now that she’s moving back to town, he’s excited to see more of her. But he just swore off women so there’s no chance of anything real with her. When they both need dates to so upcoming parties, this is the perfect solution. Have fun with Nadia and not have to worry about getting involved. Until she has a proposition for him and then it’s game on! Spend more time with Nadia? Take her V card? Yes, please! Turns out, they like each other more than a little, but it’s complicated. There have to be rules to follow so no one gets hurts. But you know what they say, rules are meant to be broken! Oh Crosby!  I love you so much! You’re sexy, sweet, talented and you have such a big heart. Nadia is independent, funny and even though she’s a virgin she knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to ask for it! Overall, I laughed, smiled, got tingles and couldn’t get enough of Crosby and Nadia! I’m in love with this new series and these characters and I can’t wait for more.

Audio: As Always Teddy and Erin are fantastic. I don’t think anyone else could be Crosby and Nadia! Perfect narration, perfect casting!

5 out of 5 stars

The Virgin Rule Book is the first book in the Rules of Love series by Lauren Blakely. I love her sport romances so I was excited when she announced she was giving us a baseball series. And this was the perfect book to start it off…batter up.
Crosby has been unlucky in love despite the drawers full of lucky socks. He sure knows how to pick ‘em. The socks not the women so he puts himself in time-out through spring training. Seven weeks. No women. No dating. No kisses. No calling exes. His boys are his sponsors. The problem? His best friend’s wedding. He needs a plus-one to keep him in line. He knows just the woman, the groom’s sister who happens to also be his friend. Nadia Harlowe. A badass in the CEO chair and in life and friendship. She is the one to keep him on the wagon. That is until they get on the dance floor. Accidentals turn into deliberate touches…
Nadia is the owner of a football team. Someone who speaks up for what she wants and what she needs. And what she needs now is a few plus-ones so why not agree to go to a few events with the All-Star? Not like anything could happen. He is in time-out and she is on a dating hiatus. Rules. After an accidental kiss there needed to be rules. One week of plus-oneing. One week of fun banter, flirty talks, and oh yeah, telling him I want him to take my V-card.
I absolutely loved Crosby and Nadia. Two twentysomethings unlucky in the love department who just might be perfect for each other. Crosby is a sweetheart with a naughty side. Nadia is a badass with a surprisingly dirty side. I love that they both say what they want when they want it even if they are conflicted. Their friendship is awesome. Their banter is goals. Their story is full of laughter, sexy times, and so much more. I can’t forget about the supporting characters. Love them. I do have a favorite and I bet my blog partner and Lauren know just who he is. Lol. I can’t wait for the next book, and the one after that, and the ones after that.
Quotes:
“You deserve to feel like a queen being adored. A goddess being worshipped. A woman being consumed.”
“God, it’s so fucking sexy when you say dirty words.”
“I won’t go after her,” Chance says, a diabolical lilt to his voice. “If you drink a can of shut the fuck up when it comes to thinking you have some special pull with the ladies.”

Blurb:

A sexy, brother’s best friend sports romance from # 1 New York Times bestseller Lauren Blakely!

Let me make a few things clear. I didn’t go to the wedding intending to dance with the best man, to dare him to show me a very sexy pic on his phone, or to accidentally kiss him in the hotel elevator after the reception ended.

But you know how it goes. Things just happen at weddings…

The next day, Crosby and I agree to put all those shenanigans behind us. The fun-loving, stupidly gorgeous, all-star baseball player might be my brother’s best friend, but he’s my friend too and has been for years, so it’s easy to move on, especially because I have a high-profile business to run.

But since he’s newly single and I’m always single, it turns out we both desperately need plus ones. We agree to “publicly date” over the next two weeks of galas, parties and events before his baseball season begins.

The only trouble is the more time I spend with Crosby, the more I keep imagining how much I want him to take my V-card.

And when I broach the possibility with Crosby, his answer surprises the hell out of me.

Finding a good roommate through a classified ad isn’t as easy as it sounds.

I was starting to lose hope.
Until a knock at my door came and God answered my prayers.
Except…uh…wrong prayer, God.
I’d definitely requested the big guy find me a drop-dead gorgeous man on more than one occasion…just not as my roommate.
Declan Tate talked me into interviewing him anyway.
While he was amusing and charismatic, I wouldn’t have been comfortable living with a man, so I regretfully declined.
Then cupcakes showed up at my door—freshly baked by Declan and just as sinfully delicious as he was.
You could say he was persistent.
I eventually folded. It wasn’t like I had another viable candidate anyway.
Plus, I was interested in someone else. And Declan was into another woman. So it wasn’t like anything would happen romantically.
After he moved in, the two of us became the best of friends. We even started to give each other advice on getting our crushes to notice us.
Eventually, Declan concocted an idea: we should pretend to be a couple to make our love interests jealous.
I was hesitant, but went along with it anyway. To my utter shock, his crazy plan worked.
Now I was dating the supposed man of my dreams, and my best friend had the woman of his.
But there was one problem.
I couldn’t stop thinking about Declan.
Those feelings we were trying to fake?
Yeah…I wasn’t pretending anymore.

Not Pretending Anymore is Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward’s next standalone. I have read all of their co-written books and have loved every single one of them. They are definitely unique in their own ways. Yes, we have read roommates to lovers, fake relationships, and friends to lovers but this one has a twist to it.
Molly needed a roommate and fast. She was shit out of luck until he walked in. Declan Tate. She didn’t want a male roommate but he made a good case plus his cupcakes were unbelievably good. He also made her laugh and would be gone most of the time since they worked different schedules. What she didn’t expect was to like him so much. They quickly become friends and come up with a plan to get their crushes to notice them. Their relationship was perfect. He cooked. She ate. They could really talk and not worry about wanting the other until…
Yep! You know it. Feelings. Those pesky things get them both all mixed up. I can’t really go into it anymore but I will say that I wanted to slap both of them a few times. Lol. I was definitely hooked and invested in their relationship. They made me laugh, get frustrated, cry, and laugh some more. They also made me want to make breakfast for dinner.
Quotes:
“It’s okay to admit you like my cooking, you know.”
Molly shook her head. “From the short time I’ve known you, I’m positive you don’t need anyone stroking your ego and making it bigger.”
“You’re right. I got something better than my ego that grows when you stroke it.” I winked.
“That was definitely special. It wasn’t me—it was us.”
“Did you believe the green ones made you horny?” he said in greeting, rather than hello.
I chuckled. “No, but I do think Twinkies will outlast the apocalypse.”

Not Pretending Anymore is the newest romance from Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland. It’s a roommates to lovers with a very slow burn. Molly and Declan are roommates but are interested in other people so it seems it’s going to work out! After a few awkward encounters and a lot of miscommunication, they finally realize they want each other. The writing is wonderful, as always! The back and forth was frustrating but worth it in the end!
