The Virgin Game Plan is the second novel in the First to Score series by the talented, Lauren Blakely. I was so excited when she announced she was writing a series with not only virgins but baseball!! I grew up loving the game. It’s the sport my family both played and loved to watch. And living in the Bay Area we had two teams. The A’s and the Giants so it’s fun that this series has two SF teams who are rivals. Ok, moving on…
Holden was only a player on the field. He needed to have a connection with a woman before he took her to bed. He also didn’t need distractions. His life was baseball. So when he met a woman who gave good flirty banter and knew her baseball, he was a goner. They spent one unforgettable afternoon and evening together. It ended too soon. Their plans axed a week later. It was over. Or so they thought…
Two years. It was almost two years since that day. Two years since they were in the same town, let alone room. It was fate that brought them back together. Then, a wrench is throw. The Virgin Game Plan is the second book in the Rules of Love series by the fabulous, Lauren Blakely. I am loving this series something fierce! These characters just make me happy! They are all sexy, sweet, funny and talented. I’m envious of their friendship bonds and I want to be friends with the women they fall for! Lauren is the queen character development. She introduces us to them once and we are always eager for more. So much more! The Virgin Game Plan is Holden and Reese’s story. It’s fresh, flirty, and funny. Holden and Reese met years ago and had an instant connection. They talked, shared things about themselves and both wanted more after the night was over. Fate had other plans and their lives and dreams took them in different directions. Now, it’s two years later and they find themselves in the same town, in the same circles. And as soon as they see each other again it’s like no time has passed. They want to pick up where they left off. Until her father becomes Holden’s new coach. Now she’s off limits. But they can’t seem to stay away from each other. Is love worth the risk? I love this story! Holden is swoony, sexy, funny and smart. Reese is independent, knows who she is and talented.   Excerpt   “Turn around.” It’s a guttural command.
 He bends me over the arm of the couch, and my hands hit the cushion for support, to steady myself. At the sound of the condom tearing, my inner muscles contract, bracing for him. He spreads my cheeks and, slipping his whole hand between my legs, cups the trembling flesh. I’m unprepared for the swipe of his tongue. For the subtle abrasion of his beard scraping the inner skin of my thighs. For the sound of him eating me. I push back against his face, helpless, no shame. Digging my nails into the cushions, I widen my legs to give me more, to take more for myself. He grips my thighs, holding me steady for his devouring mouth until, with a sob that sails over the rooftop, over the city, I contract around his delving tongue.
