Perfect Kiss is part of the Mason Creek series featuring many authors. This one is by one of my favorites, Lacey Black. I haven’t read the other books yet but it does make me want to since I just know some of the supporting characters have their own books.
Malcolm is the Mayor of Mason Creek after following in his dad and grandpa’s footsteps. They are also lawyers in the small town of three-thousand. Unlike his dad and grandpa, he is a bachelor and has dated many women in town and not looking to settle down anytime soon. He never felt a connection until he saw her. A woman who surprised him from the very first moment he saw her. He was intrigued by the woman who seems shy but he saw through her while she saw all of him. He had to know more about her. He knew she was a single mom and a new business owner in town. And that she was beautiful and had the sweetest blush. Will she be the one to bring him to his knees?
Leni moved back home six-months ago with her five-year-old son, Trace. She wanted to be with her family and for Trace to get to know them. She owned two businesses, one cleaning houses and businesses and one owning the laundromat. She had no idea one of those jobs would lead her to him. The mayor. She heard the rumors. It’s a small town after-all. They may be true and after meeting him, they most likely were. He was definitely a charmer and she didn’t have time for all that business but he seemed to be everywhere. Especially when he was a new client.
I love these two!! They are unexpected. Sexy. Fun. And full of heart. I loved how they surprised each other. And the way Trace was right there with them was awesome. Lacey is amazing at including children into her stories. Perfect Kiss had the perfect blend of laughter, charm, heat, love, and family.

Quarterback Keeper is Lacey Black’s newest standalone novella. I have read every word Lacey has written and have loved them all. She is becoming the queen of the surprise baby books!
Ashtyn had no idea that when she went over to celebrate her news with her twin brother, Alex, that she would end the night with his best friend, Tate. Tate, the hottest quarterback in the NFL as well as being the biggest playboy. She had only met him a handful of times over the last ten years and never thought in a million years that he even looked at her as more than Alex’s bookworm little sister. And she definitely didn’t expect that their one night together would change her life forever…
Tate is shocked, pissed, and in awe of Ash’s secret. He thought their night together was amazing even if he did leave like a coward by morning. But this? Why wouldn’t she tell him about having a baby. A baby! A cute little one who stares at him like he is his everything. He never thought he would want this but he is knocked off his axis. Can he and Ash make this work? Is there more than a baby between them?
Aw!! This is an novella but it packs a punch! So much story full of friendship, love, burps, and little cute baby toes. I loved it and kinda hoping for an Alex book. That man needs to find love.

Tate is Ashtyn’s twin brother’s best friend. They aren’t close, but they spend one night together, celebrating her new job, drinking and talking. He’s more than she thought he would be. And he wants her. She should say no, he’s a famous NFL quarterback, but she doesn’t want to. Their chemistry is too good to pass up. But then he’s gone in the morning, but never forgotten. She’ll always have his baby to remember him by. But then he shows up at her door with her brother and he’s not going to let her get away again. Tate hasn’t stopped thinking about Ash since the one night they spent together. He hasn’t been partying like he used to. Hasn’t been picking up women. She just got to him and he can’t believe she’s here. And she has a baby. One look at her son and he knows it’s his. And he’s not running away this time. Will Tate and Ashtyn realize there’s more between them than their son? I loved this story. So much! It might be a novella, but it never feels that way. It’s well developed, fast-paced and I fell hard and fast for the characters. Tate is sexy and sweet and I love the way he looks at her and his son. Ash is smart, funny and such a good mom. Overall, I laughed, teared up, smiled and loved it.
