I wanted to restore The Palm Inn to its original beauty and re-open it as a bed and breakfast.
We couldn’t agree on anything. So Levi made me a proposal. One he thought I would surely lose. If I could sell out the place by the time he had to leave for training at the end of summer, he would back off and let me run it.
But in the weeks that followed, we got more than we bargained for while we were living under the same roof.
Levi and I got closer, and before I knew it, my nightly fantasies about the brawny Adonis became a reality. Not to mention, he was so great with my son.
We were in over our heads in more ways than one.
Because not only was he the last man on Earth I should be falling for because of our deal, but Levi was also my ex’s older brother.

Well Played is the newest novel by one of my favorite writing duos, Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. I have read all of their books together and fall hard for them all.
Presley wanted what was best for her son and that was moving back to her hometown. New York was fun while it lasted but growing up in a small town in South Carolina was where they belonged. Even if her ex and Alex’s father was staying behind. When her son inherited half of his great-grandfather’s inn, it was the sign she had been waiting for. She wanted to restore the older inn and bring it back to its glory as a Bed & Breakfast. A place she could run and someday hand over to her son. Half at least. The other half was given to his uncle Levi. A famous quarterback that didn’t even live in the same state. A man who wasn’t the best uncle to her son but maybe this summer would change that. Even if the man didn’t like her…
Levi wanted to sell the hot mess of an inn. Fast. He didn’t see any reason to fix it. He definitely didn’t want to spend the summer under the same roof as his brother’s ex. His nephew, of course he wanted to see him. He thought it would be easy to get Presley on the same page. Money was what she wanted, right? So he thought. That was when the bet was set. She had a few months to get it up and running or it would be sold to the highest bidder. Either way, he was out of there by training camp. What he didn’t expect was to like her. She was so much more than what her brother told him. She was a badass mother. A sweetheart who loved peach cobbler and a sexy vixen. He didn’t want to want her. He didn’t want to hurt his brother. He didn’t want to complicate her life. A summer fling would be all it could be, right?
Sure.
Omg!! These two. What a roller coaster ride of laughter, sexy times, and crazy ups and downs. I felt for them all. I loved their banter, heat, and sweetness. I felt all of their emotions and connection. Even the one between Levi and Alex. I love when kids are not just in the shadows but involved. I was so invested in these characters and didn’t want to put the book down once I started.

Hostile Takeover is the newest sexy, second chance story by the hilarious Lucy Lennox. I couldn’t be a bigger fan of Lucy’s if I tried. Her books just always make me happy! If you read Luca and Marcel you know who Grey Blackwood is. He’s Marcel’s boss, the sexy, intimidating workaholic who’s been taking over companies and making billions. I knew his story was going to be something else! One hot kiss in the closet with Ellison York in college changed the path of this life. After that incident, he lost his job, his contacts and everything he worked so hard for. But it made him the man he is today. Ruthless, smart and rich as sin. He’s just about to take over the last company of the frat boys who did him wrong. Ellison’s father’s company. He agrees to some stipulations as long as Ellison acts as is PA for 2 weeks while he takes care of business. Ellison isn’t the man he thought he was. He’s caring, sensitive and nothing like his heartless father. He’s also ridiculously attractive, charismatic and sexy. Ellison never thought he’d see Grey again and definitely under these circumstances. Now he has to play nice with Grey to get some of his company back. He never stopped thinking about him after their time in the closet. He always had a thing for Grey in college. The only man he was ever attracted to. And this might be his chance to see if things could ever be different. If Grey could forgive him and they might have a chance at happiness. Ellison softens Greys hard edges and shows him something he never thought he’d have. A partner who’s funny, smart, entertaining and can give as good as he gets. Grey needs to buy a piece of property and Ellison is going to help him get it. They just have to pretend to be boyfriends. For a week. In the Hamptons with Ellison’s family. Pfft. No biggie. After a few days it’s obvious to everyone that they actually care for each other. After a few kisses they both want more. But there’s more on the line than the company and a deal. Will their hearts survive a second time? Holy crap! I loved this story so much! So. Much. I laughed out loud, teared up, laughed some more and just thoroughly enjoyed every word. Ellison is so funny and sexy and smart and Grey is so sexy and is such a good man under the gruff hardness. He never forgot were he came from and just wants to help people. They are one of my favorite Lucy couples and that’s saying a lot since I really, really love all her books!

Meet Lucy Lennox Lucy Lennox is finally putting good use to that English Lit degree earned way back in the 1900s. She stays up way too late each night reading M/M romance because she is a sucker for a good story.
