Hacked is the third book in the Licking Thicket: Horn of Glory series by Lucy Lennox and May Archer. I love this series so much! This is Hux and Kev’s story! I have loved both of them since Hijacked and I’m so glad we finally get their story. Hux is part of Champion security and Kev is Carter’s cousin. They have been working together for a while and they have been more enemies than anything! Or so everyone though. Now that they are forced to work side-by-side for the team, the animosity is definitely attraction now. Hux doesn’t think a man like Kev, smart, rich, good and handsome would ever like someone like him. Kev thinks Hux is too experienced, too sexy and too grumpy to like him. Once they let down their guards and work and play together, they realize there’s more than just snarky banter. There’s sexual tension, long looks and casual touches. And then there’s more. Oh boy is there more! I couldn’t love Jasper Huxley and Kevin Rogers more if I tried! They are so funny together, I was laughing out loud. They are also freaking hot together! I feel like the last two books was just foreplay for these two and I was here for it! I love Hux and his sexy tattoos and sweet words. Kevin and his sexy glasses and his brain. I was dying over the game, Horn of Glory, my favorite Champ quote, “I changed my mind. I love this game. The puns are delightful.” The never ending innuendos, the team of hilarious men and women. I just loved all of it!

If you haven’t read it yet, you definitely will want to afterwards. I have read all of Siobhan’s books and each one is unique and addictive in their own ways. This one is no different. I don’t want to spoil the plot so I will try to make this quick. The synopsis is perfection, really.

Omg!! I love Natalia! She is a complete the badass I knew she would be. Leo is swoon-worthy and so f*cking romantic. I just love them so much. I had a feeling about this two and damn…more than expected and that is the norm when it comes to one of my favorite authors ever. I can’t wait for what she has up next for this family. The writing is addictive along with the story. The couple is beautiful in every way. ♥️

Scared to Love is the third and final book in the Mazzone Mafia series by Siobhan Davis. Each book can be read as standalone but I HIGHLY recommend reading them in order since they all tie together. I love mafia and I love Siobhan so I am crazy about this series. It’s never boring with this family…

I loved watching Serena’s journey and Alesso’s too. They both have scars inside and out. Together, I could feel their deep connection and I loved that Alesso is so swoony and doesn’t care who knows it. It was awesome to catch up with the rest of the family #FamilyGoals. I can’t wait for what Siobhan has planned for us next.

Taking the Fight is the second book in the Gloves Off- Second Generation series by L.P. Dover. You do not need to read the Gloves Off series to fall hard for the second generation but you will want to! I do recommend reading the second generation series in order though even if not required. There is a storyline that will flow throughout the series.

Braden (Pax and Gabby’s son) and Reagan (Ryley and Ash’s daughter) have been on edge in their intense sexual tension since they were sixteen years old. Reagan is a fighter and it’s been the biggest fight to not take up Braden on all his flirty offers but she can’t risk her heart. Braden is a flirt and can’t be taken seriously but now at twenty-five he is done watching her walk away. He wants to prove to her that she is truly the only one he wants. The only one he needs. He knew it wouldn’t be easy especially now that he senses that she is hiding something…

Reagan didn’t want to keep secrets from her family and friends especially the man who has always protected her even when she pushes him away. Wait a damn minute. Long-term relationship? That thought had struck him like a blow from out of nowhere.

Wow, what a moment for an epiphany. He ran unsteady hands nervously through his hair. A long-term commitment from Ducky? Is that what he wanted?

Ducky had never given him any clue that he was anything other than a straight man. Not any of those telltale signs indicating interest in the same sex. The bigger problem was that Ducky hadn’t spoken to him in days. Not one word to all of Chad’s texts apologizing for his unguarded comment.

His heart dipped then fluttered, sending a shiver from his head to his toes and racing back up his spine again. He didn’t like Ducky ignoring him, not one damn bit. Anyone but Ducky.

“Ducky,” he finally whispered. Funny how saying the name out loud seemed to validate his feelings, giving him an inner boost.

His mother blinked then opened her mouth to speak. No words came as she blinked again, closing her mouth. Her head tilted quizzically, and her hand lifted about six inches from her head. She shook her fingers. He took it to indicate Ducky’s mop of curls.

First smile in days. “Yes. Except he’s changed, but I’m really into those curls.”

Chad reached for the cell phone in his back pocket, bringing up an image of Ducky that he’d saved from The Game Awards. He turned the screen to show his mother Ducky’s new look.

She pretty much had the same reaction he had. A moment of pure confusion as she stared at the screen before she took the phone from his hand, using her fingers to zoom in on Ducky’s face. “This is him? He’s very handsome, Chad.” Her brow wrinkled as she glanced up. “You two have similar coloring, but your hair’s darker now.”

Chad nodded and looked down at Ducky’s photo still on the screen. “He and I talk all the time. Mostly online and text, but it’s moved to phone calls now too. We’ve never met face-to-face, but he’s my best friend. I share almost everything with him, yet he didn’t tell me he’d made these changes to his appearance. That’s why I said it wasn’t him during the podcast. It caught me off guard.”

“Because you’re attracted to him?” she asked, looking at the screen again, tapping it to keep the photo up.

“I was attracted to him before he did all this. He’s a really good guy, Mom. Smarter than anyone I know. We’ve been friends since we were on Xbox Live together in early junior high. I think he surpasses Dad with his knowledge of code. Ducky can hack into anything. We’d all be online together and watch him do it when we were younger.” Chad took his phone from his mother, drawing her attention back to him. She needed to hear what he planned to say. “I’ve been dealing with my attraction to guys since way before Dad came out. Ducky was the first guy I was into. I’ve never stopped being into him. He’s funny in this unintentional way, but he laughs at himself. He’s real. The most real person I’ve ever known. I’ve never met anyone else like him.”

“I never had any idea you had these feelings. When I asked the question, I didn’t really expect this response,” his mom said in that way only mothers used when they spoke of the regret of missing something so big. “You were young. You must have been afraid and unsure.”

“Hell no, I wasn’t afraid. Sorry,” Chad said, ignoring the critical arching of her brow at the use of the swear word. “Do you think any child you raised could be afraid of anything?”

He pushed off the counter, tucking his cell phone back into his pocket. “I’ve been with guys, Mom. Lots of ’em. And that’s all I’m going to say so don’t ask me any questions.” He couldn’t contain the shiver running through him at the awkwardness of admitting even that much to his mother about his sex life.

“You’ve been with women, too. Right?” His mom stammered, clearly questioning everything she knew about Chad. “Don’t answer that. It doesn’t matter. How have I never known these things about you before? I tried to be an observant, present mother for your whole life. I love you.” She looked pitiful, causing Chad to give a good laugh as his mother took her seat and lifted her glass of iced tea, taking several long gulps.

“Mom, all of us are very well-adjusted. You and Dad are great parents. Kids don’t tell their parents everything. You know that. And it wasn’t easy on any of us to have Dad’s sexuality splashed out for the world to see. I get that social media doesn’t hold weight, but when your father owns a social platform that’s bought by a technology giant like Wilder and then those two men become a couple…the children involved are gonna get some backlash.”

The Godparent Trap is Rachel Van Dyken’s newest standalone rom-com. I love that RVD can write mafia and hilarious rom-coms. She kills me with her humor and The Godparent Trap is one of my favorites. The characters. The storyline. So good!

Colby and Rip are complete opposites. He is all about rules, structure, and numbers. She is all about traveling, food, and fun times. They are tied together for life since his sister is her best friend. They even went on one date years ago and it was a disaster. Rip thinks she is a hot mess who needs to get a real job and get her life together. Colby thinks he has a huge stick stuck up his ass and needs it surgically removed. They try to stay on their sides but they are always thrown together. And now, they were living under one roof to raise two children under the age of six. Two children grieving their parents while they were grieving she was grieving her best friends and he was grieving his best friend and sister. They needed to figure out a way to do this. To give Ben and Viera all the love and joy. Together.

That’s really all I can say about the story but I will say that I love this two! Hard. Their banter is on-point. Hilarious. Flirty. And a bit dirty. I loved seeing these two navigate life, family, and love. I laughed so hard and swooned too. I so, so love Ben and Viera too. They are so much fun, smart, and just all around adorable.
