An Imperfect Heart, an all-new second chance romance from Amie Knight, is LIVE!
The heart is exquisite.
You’ll never hear anyone wax poetic over an organ quite like they do the heart.
When you’re lost in the world? Follow your heart.
When your love for someone is unwavering, unparalleled and unprecedented? You give them your heart.
As a lead pediatric cardiac surgeon, I knew better than anyone that the heart is equally as powerful as it is delicate.
The heart giveth just as easily as it taketh away.
And until the day Kelly Potter darkened my doorway that was all just part of the job.
She rolled in like a slow evening storm, fierce and beautiful, fighting for the life of her unborn child.
It should have been business as usual.
I was a doctor.
Her child the patient.
But Kelly was more.
She was the one who got away.
I wouldn’t make the same mistake twice.
It didn’t matter what the rules were.
For once, I was listening to my heart.

An Imperfect Heart is Amie’s next beautiful standalone. I have been following her words since her first book See Through Heart was released, and that was where I was first introduced to Kelly. Ainsley’s glitter- loving roommate and best friend. Saw her again in A Steel Heart so I was excited that she was getting her own book. I didn’t expect it to be this story but so happy that it was.
Ten years. It has been ten years since she saw him. Ten years since the one night stand she would never forget, and the morning after that made her want to scream. She didn’t get it. But, it wasn’t the time to think about it. She wasn’t here for herself. She was at his office for her. Her baby. Her unborn child with a heart defect. She didn’t want to need the asshole, but she did. To save the baby she never thought she wanted but now, can’t think of a life without it.
Anthony loved the fight in her eyes. He did that night ten years ago and he did now. He never forgot their night together. How could he? She was the one who got away. The one he pushed away. He was not going to make that mistake again. She doesn’t like that she needs him. He knows that but he loves the fight. He wants to be there for her and her baby. And when she finally lets him in, it’s beautiful, terrifying, and fantastic. But, can he love them and be their doctor? He wants the best for Team hope. Is he it?
Awe! I just loved everything about it. It was more than a second chance love story. It was about hope, family, friendship, and of course love. The characters are strong, stubborn, and fun. Their banter is flirty, hilarious, and had that lovingly frustration. You know that kind. The one where you don’t know whether you want to slap or kiss them. Anthony and Kelly knew how to push one another’s buttons. It was beautiful really. He would seem like an ass at times but it was for the best at times.
Overall…This is my favorite book of Amie’s! It had the perfect blend of heart, flirt, and emotions. It wasn’t too heavy but it wasn’t light either. It was just what I needed today.
P.S I loved all the nicknames he called her.
“Well, what happened? Don’t keep a sister waiting. It was handcuffs and whips, wasn’t it? Did he have a red room of pain? I knew that fucker was into some kinky shit.”
“Jesus, you have got to stop reading so many romances.”
“It might not be him.”
“Oh, it’s him. I can feel him trying to telepathically tell me what to do through the door.”
She giggled, putting her face to the small hole in the door.
