Sometimes wrong can feel oh so right . . .
Jenna Lacombe needs complete control, whether it’s in the streets . . . or between the sheets. So when she sets out on a solo road trip to visit her family in New Orleans, she’s beyond annoyed that the infuriatingly sexy Jack Oliver wants to hitch a ride with her. Ever since they shared a wild night together last year, he’s been trying to strip away her defenses one by one. He claims he’s just coming along to keep her safe-but what’s not safe for her is prolonged exposure to the tattooed hottie.
Jack can’t get Jenna out from under his skin. She makes him feel alive again after his old life nearly destroyed him-and losing her is not an option. Now Jack’s troubles are catching up to him, and he’s forced to return to his hometown in Louisiana. But when his secrets put them both in harm’s way, Jenna will have to figure out how far she’s willing to let love in . . . and how much she already has.
I read Perfect Kind of Trouble and loved it. So I was excited to read Right Kind Of Wrong since you meet the couple briefly but they stuck with me. I knew it would be an adventure and I was not disappointed. It is also told in both POVs which is my favorite.
Jenna has a plan and in that plan, love is not involved it is avoided. She wants to be in control of her life and love is unpredictable but when one night drunken hot passionate sex with her friend, Jack her plan is thrown for a loop. She doesn’t want to feel strongly for him, she wants her heart to get on board with her brain and forget that night. They are very good friends and she tires her hardest to keep it that way, she can’t imagine him not in her life but doesn’t want him to mess with her plan….
Jack might be a sexy, broad man man full of tattoos that drives a Harley but he is still hurt that Jenna will not acknowledge that she cares for him more than she will ever attempt. He knows about her plan but he has known since that night a year ago that there is more there and he is determined to hear her say not and not just see it in her eyes and the opportunity arises where he can kill two birds with one stone he takes it….
Jenna got a call that she needs to go home to New Orleans to be with her family. Jack also has received some news from home that needs his full attention so he decides that a road trip from Arizona to Louisiana is the best plan. This is where the adventure really starts, she doesn’t want him there not because she doesn’t want him but because she does too much. He doesn’t want her involved what is happening back home so he just wants to be dropped off and have her go on her way. He doesn’t want her to know about his past but can he keep her from it?
These two have the best banter between them. They fight, flirt and you can cut the sexual tension with a knife. This road trip gives them the chance to get to know each-other even more and it tests them like crazy. Will Jack’s secret past get in their way? Can Jenna let her guard down and let a Jack care about her?
Jenna is one kick ass independent woman and I loved her even though she frustrated the hell out of me. Jack is a sexy tattooed hottie with a big heart. I thought it was nice that he was the one that wanted her to open up and attempt her feelings. I love the way Chelsea makes the books in the series an adventure. I laughed, I cried, I got hot and bothered and I cried a little bit more. Perfect combo for me. I can’t want for the next adventure.
Strength isn’t about what you can or cannot achieve. It’s about what you and will not do in order to achieve. And on that, I know exactly where I stand.
“Are you always this controlling? God.” He scoffs. “It’s like you can’t relinquish control for even a second. You always have to be in charge. You always have to call the shots. I bet you’re always on top during sex too.”
“Look,” I say, leaning in. I like to be the power player during sex. The hurricane. The idea of being t some guy’s mercy is just…not sexy. I want to be the queen and absolute authority . So I’m always on top.” I shrug and lean back. “Get over it.”
Shut-up you pathetic bed-sniffer.
Chelsea lives in Phoenix, Arizona where she spends most of her time writing stories, painting murals, and avoiding housework at all costs. She’s ridiculously bad at doing dishes and claims to be allergic to laundry. Her obsessions include: superheroes, coffee, sleeping-in, and crazy socks. She lives with her husband and two children, who graciously tolerate her inability to resist teenage drama on TV and her complete lack of skill in the kitchen.
