always crew cover

For the longest time, I was Bren Monroe.
I lived in Roussou, California.
I had no parents, no brother, but I had a crew.

Then things started to change.
I never planned for any of it.
I didn’t think I’d fall in love.
I didn’t think I’d have a relationship with my brother again.
I didn’t think that he’d come back.

Now I’m in Cain.
My crew is in college.
They’re growing, going through their own things.
And here I am, figuring out my life.

There’s always hurdles and obstacles to overcome.
That was never my hardship.
That was my regular.
But living? Being content? Being happy?
Those were my challenges now.

Everything was going well…
Until it wasn’t. Again.

A/N: Always Crew is the conclusion of the Crew Series, and a 106k novel.

Kara's Review

5 out of 5 stars

Always Crew is the last book in the Crew series by Tijan. I really loved this series and I’m sad to see it end, but Tijan gave us everything we wanted with this crew of best friends. Bren, Cross, Jordan and Zellman all moved to Cain. The boys are in college and Bren is trying to find her place in the world. They are all growing up, moving on and finding out who they are. One thing that will never change? They are Crew Forever. They are there for each other no matter what happens. They are loyal. Supportive. And always ready to fight for each other, no matter what. Everything seems to be quiet and you know what that means. Something is about to go down. But they are ready. Bren is finally feeling like herself. The real her. Loving Cross, having friends. And of course, Channing (who I desperately LOVE), always being there for her. It’s not easy being Crew, but it’s who they are and always will be. Some old friends and foes show up to try to test them, but they are stronger. Bren and Cross and solid. Jordan and Z are making their lives happen. It was a beautiful journey and I loved every minute of it! I’m hoping this isn’t the last time we’ll see these characters, but even if it is, I’m thrilled with the way it ended. My heart is full and happy!

5 out of 5 stars

Always Crew is the third and final book in the Crew series by Tijan. This is not a standalone so make sure you read the two previous books first. It is also connected to the Fallen Crest series but you do not need to read it. I didn’t and wasn’t confused at all. I do love Channing though so I will get to it one day. Anyway, I don’t want to spoil anything so this will be quick.

Bren and her crew have left Roussou to live in Cain. The boys are in college and Bren is figuring out what she wants to do with her life. She knows two things. She loves Cross, and her crew is priority. Always. They will always have her back and she will always have theirs. New town. New school. New people. New job. Everything was changing and she was lost. Her brother, Canning sets her up with a job and that brings a new beginning and even more than she bargained for. She thought her life was going to be normal. It’s what she wanted. It looked like it was going that way until someone from her past showed up…

This crew is friendship goals. They just get each other. If one is in trouble, all of them were in trouble. Nothing was secret. This story is full of action, suspense, passion, friendship, family, and love. They are definitely always moving. Always calculating. And always up for a party.

He was firing off lame, pick-up-line jokes and they were too ridiculous not to laugh at.

“Bren, is that a mirror in your pocket?” He leaned in, not giving me time to shoot him down. “Because if so, I can see myself in your pants.”

“I want everything from you, everything you’ll give me, but I’ll ask for nothing.”

“Please, Bren,” Jordan whispered.

I sagged, hearing his plea.

If I didn’t stop, he’d start. I had to stop. I had to stop for him.

“We have to go. It’s done.” That was Cross, but he was the leader speaking now. “Get her in the truck.”

Jordan carried me over. Zellman hopped up and Jordan lifted me to him. I could’ve climbed up myself, but there was something about my crew doing this for me. Handling me. They needed to do this, and a part of me needed to let them.

I glanced back as Jordan was climbing up, coming behind us.

Cross was bent over the guy. He was talking to him. A second later, he pulled his phone out, punching some numbers. Then the phone was back in his pocket, and he was coming for the truck. His eyes held mine for a brief moment before he got behind the wheel.

Cross drove us back as Zellman and Jordan huddled on both sides of me.

My hands were still bleeding, but no one moved to cover them.

That felt fitting, for some reason.

Just let me bleed.
