Winning with Him is the second book in the Men of Summer Series by Lauren Blakely. Yes, this is the conclusion to Grant and Declan’s story! I’ve been dying to get my hands on this since the second I finished reading Scoring With Him. Grant and Declan spent a short time together at Spring training getting to know each other as friends and then as lovers. We pick up where they left off and we get to see where the years take Grant and Declan. The story spans five years of them playing baseball, working hard, living their dreams. Grant grows up, becomes a better baseball player, makes long-lasting friendships. Declan perfects his game, learns a lot about himself and realizes he wants Grant in his life. The years apart made them better men and now it’s their time. They can make it work if they’re both in it. I loved watching Grant and Declan grow, mature and live their lives. They never forgot each other over the years, but the flame never went out. They are just too combustible together. Before just wasn’t the right time, but now is. Their time to fight for each other. Fight for what they want. Realize they can have baseball and love. I don’t know how it happened, but Grant and Declan are my favorite couple of Lauren’s. There’s just something about these strong, smart, sexy men that gets to me! Their heat, their passion, their love of baseball and life. Their supportive friends and family. It all pulled on my heartstrings and didn’t let go. Grant and Declan have an epic story. This story, these two men, are the reason I love romance novels. I would read a million stories about Grant and Declan!

Winning With Him is the second book in the Men of Summer series. It should be read after Scoring With Him where Declan and Grant first met at spring training.

The shortstop and his rookie broke all the rules during their time at spring training. Temptation won. It was everything until their time in Arizona ended. It was time for their first love. Baseball. They had to live and breathe the game during the season. It was the game that never failed them. Always wanted them. Would always be there for them. They couldn’t always say that about people in their lives but baseball would always be there. On the field was their home. Will they be able to resist each other during the season? Will they give into temptation during the off-season once again?

I really can’t say much about the story without spoiling it. I can say that the book spans over five years of their lives. Their story. Their careers. Friendships. Family. And of course I can tell you that I love these men!! Hard. They are definitely one of my all-time favorite couples of Lauren’s and I have read every single one of her books. I am addicted to her words and the men and women of her epic love stories. I laughed. I cried. I got all kinds of hot and bothered. I cried some more. I just love these men of summer!! There is so much more to them than just baseball and hotness. So much more.
