Give Me Love by Corinne Michaels is now live!

New York Times bestselling author Corinne Michaels brings another second chance standalone in the town of Rose Canyon.

My biggest mistake was falling in love with my fake husband. It was supposed to be a marriage of convenience between two best friends in the military. Our plan was to collect extra money and stay stationed together. But what failed? Me. I did. Because suddenly I wanted a man who was never meant to be my real husband.

In an attempt to remedy my mistake, I severed all ties and put my life as a combat medic and Emmett Maxwell behind me. I’ve lost too many people to open myself up to love.

Now I’m working as a private investigator, and fate has stepped in, forcing our paths to intersect again when I’m looking into the disappearance of a missing girl with ties to Emmett’s hometown. A case I fear puts his life in danger.

He gives me one week to prove my suspicions and then I need to sign the divorce papers and leave. The problem with that? The moment I see Emmett again, I realize how foolish it was to leave him, to think I could ever stop loving him. All I want is a second chance.

When the case threatens not only my life but also his, I’m faced with my worst fear. How many times can a heart break before it shatters beyond repair?

5 out of 5 stars

Give Me Love is the second book in the Rose Canyon series by Corinne Michaels. You can read each book as standalone but I HIGHLY recommend reading the series since there is an interlocking mystery spanning the series. The suspense!
Emmett and Blakely served together in the army and have been married for years. They haven’t seen each other for two and half years, since the day Blakely walked away from her husband. This was a marriage between two best friends. A marriage of convenience. A marriage promised to not be anything more. A marriage his best friends didn’t even know about until Blakely showed up to Rose Canyon looking for a missing girl. A missing girl who Blakely believes is connected to a closed case in the small town.
Emmett wants his soon-to-be ex-wife, if he has anything to do with it, gone. He is the sheriff in town and is giving her one week to prove that his closed case has to do with her missing girl. One week then she can finally sign the divorce papers and stay out of his life for good. She hurt him when she walked away from him and their bond. He doesn’t want to feel that heartbreak again. He needs to move on and he can’t do that with a wife who doesn’t want a life with him.
This series! I am loving the characters, the town, the suspense. Corinne took me on one hell of a ride with this story. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I cried some more, and wanted to smack some fools. I can’t wait for the next book! I love all these guys (and women) but I have been falling hard for one man and I can’t wait for his story!
“I’m happy to be your inconvenient wife.”
“You would be.” I fight back the urge to stick out my tongue.
“Umm, what are you looking at?”
“The sky.”
“Oh, the joy of that . . .”
He nudges me. “You are seriously missing it.”
“It’s a sky. We have one at home too.”
“And that’s the fun. Imagine that, right now, someone else is gazing at the same star.”
I sigh and tamper down my giggle. “Okay, Fievel.”
“Shut up.”
“I can hear you.”
“I wasn’t whispering,” I say back.
