Imitation of Life is the second book in the Rock Bottom series by the talented Felice Stevens. I’m loving this series about these men who have been through hell and have risen up and survived. We met Benny in Broken Silence. He’s Justin’s best friend and he’s such a good guy! He’s worked hard his whole life and now he has a new job and a plan to move him and his sister to a new and better home. He’s been in love with Gino for a long time, but Gino doesn’t see him. Or so he thought. Gino grew up with no family and didn’t have it easy. He thinks the only way to get someone to like him is to use sex. Benny knows Gino sleeps around, but he still cares about him. After Gino’s world falls apart, Benny is there to pick him up. Benny and Gino’s story isn’t easy. But they are both survivors and they save each other with their love and affection. I love Benny’s sister, Chloe! She’s smart and adorable! This love story was hard to read at time. What they went through was maddening and sad! Felice wrote it with grace, compassion and love. I’m looking forward to more in the series!
