Runaway Love by Melanie Harlow is now live!

Yes, I’m a single dad who needs a nanny for the summer. But hire the stranded runaway bride who shows up on my doorstep in a wedding gown with no references, no skills, and no experience? No one is that desperate. Except within twenty-four hours, down-on-her-luck Veronica Sutton manages to charm my kids, my family, and half the population of Cherry Tree Harbor into believing she’s perfect for the job.

And for me. It’s not that I can’t see the appeal-those baby blue eyes? The endless legs? That mouth made for trouble? But I’ve got enough on my plate, raising two kids on my own and keeping the family business alive. I don’t have the time or the inclination to fall for an outspoken city girl. So I should have kept my hands to myself. Holding her in my arms was a big mistake. Even worse? Spending the night together. She ignites a possessive fire in me that I’m finding hard to snuff out. But the most unforgivable? Growing attached to the sound of her laugh, the scent of her skin, and the way her body wraps around mine in the dark. At the end of the summer, she’ll be gone. And if I’m not careful, she might run away with my heart.

5 out of 5 stars

Runaway Love is the first book in the Cherry Tree Harbor series by Melanie Harlow. I love small-town romance. I love single dads. I love Melanie’s words so it was all-around amazing.
Austin needed a nanny for the summer. What he didn’t expect was a beautiful woman to show up on his doorstep wearing a wedding dress applying for the job. He shouldn’t have even let her into his home but his sister and kids are enchanted. He is too but won’t admit it. Does he really want this woman to be around for the summer?
No. But he gives her a chance and he regrets it every time he kisses her. He wants the nanny and believes it’s wrong but feels too good. She fits and he hates it. He hates the way she makes him feel which is happy. It’s complicated and easy at the same time.
Veronica never thought that the day of her wedding would lead her to a small-town she falls in love with. Not just the town but the people. She is a city girl. She is a Rockette. But this family… is everything she never had. She was supposed to be on her honeymoon and instead she was a nanny to seven-year old twins and loving it! The hot single dad with toe-curling kisses isn’t so bad either but all good things must come to an end, right?
Aw!!! I love them. So much! Veronica and Austin. The kids. His family. Oh, Xander…I love you so and can’t wait for your story! Back to Roni and Austin though, you guys made me laugh, cry, get all hot and bothered and get whiplash. I loved every minute!
Make grumpy single dad’s brown eyes pop? Check, I thought with satisfaction. Put that on my chore chart, you big hot lug.
“God,” she panted, wiping her mouth. “You can be such an asshole, but you sure know how to kiss.”
“So am I still the boss this week even though the kids are gone and you’re not technically the nanny?”
“Definitely.” I wrapped my legs around him. “What can I do for you, sir?”
“I have a list,” he said.
I laughed as he tickled my ribs with his chin. “I bet you do.”
