Promises We Meant to Keep by Monica Murphy is now live!

Spencer Donato.

My brother’s best friend.

My dirty little secret.

We fell for each other at Lancaster Prep. Sneaking around. Not wanting anyone to find out. He was my first love, my protector, my knight in shining armor. We were made for each other, and I truly believed he was my forever.

But then I did the unthinkable, and betrayed him in the worst possible way. I thought I lost him for good…

Until I saw him at my brother’s wedding. Now he’s older. Crueler. Unbearably handsome. We’re drawn to each other still, but will Spencer be there for me when I need him the most? Or did I ruin us forever?

Sandra's Review

5 out of 5 stars

Promises We Meant to Keep is a standalone in the Lancaster Prep world by Monica Murphy. It truly can be read as standalone, I know since I didn’t read A Million Kisses in a Lifetime or Things I Meant to Say (but never did). I did however, one-click both of them afterwards. I did read the Arranged Marriage series and loved it! Since I don’t read blurbs I didn’t even put together they were tied till I saw the h’s name. Lol.
Sylvie and Spencer’s relationship has always had its complications. He’s best friend is Sylvie’s older brother. For years they would sneak around Lancaster Prep from dorm rooms to dark corners. First loves. First heartbreaks. Through it all the love was always there but they couldn’t always be together. Especially after a betrayal. Years went by without seeing each other. Now, they were both at her brother’s wedding and Spencer is as handsome as ever, the connection is still there, and also the hurt. He was always there for her even when she pushed him away but this time, he is cruel, and cold. He is done with her…
But is he really? Is it too late for them? Can he just walk away when she needs him?
I can’t really get into more of their story but I can say that I want to cut a bitch. Anyway, I loved it! Sylvie is a complicated and beautiful woman who is stronger than she believes. Spencer is a badass with a big heart. Together, I felt their connection, love, and passion throughout the book. Their story is emotional, suspenseful, and beautiful.
