That cream-filled, caramel-topped doughnut should have been hers. Still, Haley Raynor can’t deny that the pastry thief with the dreamy blue eyes looks even more delicious. But moving in on a handsome devil like Trevor Kelly is bad news for a die-hard romantic like Haley. Trevor doesn’t believe in love. She does. Giving in to a fling and Trevor’s irresistible charms can’t end well. Can it? What can it hurt to give it a shot?

Girls always fall for Trevor, and in the end, he always ends up looking like a bad-boy cad. Still, spending some time with Haley and her smart-talking, kissable mouth sounds pretty perfect. Besides, he’s only going to be in Dogwood Lane for one week. How much trouble could they possibly get into?

The only answer? A “no falling in love” contract. All Trevor and Haley have to do is follow the rules and resist the attraction sizzling between them…before their hearts get completely tangled up in temptation.

Sandra's Review

5 out of 5 stars

Tangle is the second book in the Dogwood Lane series by the ever so talented, Adriana Locke. It can be read as standalone but I do recommend reading Tumble since it was amazing. And if you did, then you have met Haley, Dane’s cousin, nanny and romantic.
Haley loves love and that is exactly why she agreed to her cousin’s ridiculous bet. No dating for six months. She has been going strong for close to two months. That was until he walked in and stole her donut. Trevor Kelly aka Thief. Trevor didn’t believe in love. He didn’t want anything to do with it. He didn’t understand how someone would want to be with just one person for the rest of their life. They knew how the other felt after just a few run-ins. They knew they should stay away from each other but what is the fun in that, right?
Totally! And it is so much fun! Haley and Trevor make a deal. A deal guaranteed to work if they follow all the rules. Trevor is only in town for one week working on his father’s new home in Dogwood Lane. And in that week he only has a few plans. To finish up with the home. To now assist his new friend in writing a resume. And lastly, to not make Haley Raynor fall in love with him. It should be easy enough. It’s only one week and he doesn’t want her to fall. He doesn’t want her heart and he definitely doesn’t want to break it. So he will obey her rules. That is until they cross the line…
Omfg! I loved this book! Hard. It might even be my favorite Adriana book and that says a lot. I have read all of them. I loved their banter. It was flirty, dirty, sweet, and so much fucking fun. I fell for Trevor on first sight. He got her. There was an instant attraction between them and it was the best. They didn’t know each other but they seemed like they did. They just clicked. Both smart asses who were trying to figure out what was next up in their lives.
Overall…it’s my favorite Adriana book. It’s hilarious, sexy, and fun. It had it all. I fell hard for the characters. The story. Their personal journeys. The torture they felt and the emotions. I can not wait for Penn’s book!
P.S. I thought it was awesome to see my name and also my brother’s in the book. That was a first to have us both. Lol
“Are you finished?” he asks.
I zip a line from his boots to his face. “What do you mean?”
“I don’t want to walk out of here until you’ve finished appreciating me.” He grins. “If you’re done, I do need to go.”
“It must suck to be so jaded about love.”
“Or maybe it sucks to be so naive about it?”
“I knocked,” he says immediately.
“Good boy, Penn,” Neely says, patting him on the head. “Do you want a cookie?”
“Yes, please.”

Tangle is the second book in the Dogwood Lane series by the fun, fabulous and talented Adriana Locke. I’m a huge fan of Adriana’s and I have read all her words. In my opinion, her writing it just getting better and better and I’m so glad I’m along for the ride! We have met Haley and we love her. She loves love, flowers and all things romantic. Now we get to meet Trevor. Dear Lord is the man sexy, hot and surprisingly funny. He’s only in town for one week working on his father’s house. He knows he should stay away from Haley but he just can’t bring himself to stop wanting her. They keep running into each other and he finally thinks of the perfect compromise. He wants to help her with her resume and finding a job and he wants her company at all his dinners. Easy, right? Haley knows it’s a bad idea. Trevor is just the kind of guy she usually falls for and it never ends well. She knows herself. She gets clingy and weird and can’t stop texting and chasing after men. She is trying to be different. She doesn’t want to be that woman anymore. So they sign a contract and it’s all going to be fine. Until he gets a little too close and she wants him even closer. He doesn’t believe in love or happily ever afters. But she can change his mind, right. Trevor knows he likes her. A lot. But he doesn’t do love or long term relationships. Haley deserves more. After they cross the line she wants more and he doesn’t. What’s going to happen when it’s time for him to leave town? I loved this story. It’s one of my favorite books of Adriana’s! Haley knows more about herself than she ever has. She’s learned, grown and isn’t going to let anything ruin it. She cares for people and loves love. That’s just who she is. Trevor isn’t sure he knows what love is. Until he meets Haley. Now he’s really confused. I loved watching them fall for each other and learn abut themselves. Overall, it’s fun, flirty, romantic, sexy and emotional!

“Are you finished?

“What do you mean?”

“I don’t want to walk out of here until you’ve finished appreciating me.” He grins. “If you’re done, I do need to go.”

“So no touching. Between us, anyway. Leave room for Jesus.”

“I’ve been to church my whole life, and I’m still gonna need an explanation for that one.”

“It means if there isn’t room between our bodies for another body, we’re too close.”

“Did you just buy my coffee?” I ask.

“You know what goes good with coffee …” I look at his plate and then back to him. All he does is laugh.

He gets to his feet, unfolding a body that’s taller, and harder, than I expected. His jeans are coupled with a grey and black flannel that fits him well enough to see the lines of his body. The curve of his biceps, the dip of his waist, and the slight angle from his shoulder to his neck is divine.

“Are you finished?” he asks.

I zip a line from his boots to his face. “What do you mean?”

“I don’t want to walk out of here until you’ve finished appreciating me.” He grins. “If you’re done, I do need to go.”

A full-on blush covers my body and, when he laughs, I wonder if he’s thinking it’s the same color as my panties. This makes me blush more.

“You are not the gentleman I hoped you were,” I say, failing to hide a laugh.

He smiles devilishly, assessing me as he shoves his wallet back in his pocket. Then, with a pained expression and a dose of hesitation for my benefit, he slides his plate in front of me. “Here. You can have my donut. I know it’s not all you wanted, but it’ll have to do. I’m late.” He takes a cup from Claire for the road.

“I didn’t hear anything you said after ‘You can have my donut’,” I say, sticking my finger in the middle of the pastry. “But thanks.”

“They have forks, you know.”

“I know. But I wanted to make sure you didn’t ask for it back.” A warmth spreads through my middle as he laughs.
