I want you . . . even when I hate you.

I Hate You, an all-new enemies to lovers sports romance from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills, is available now!

Blaze Townsend: I hate you.

Charisma Rossi: I hate you more.

She’s been expecting this ever since their latest showdown. She had good reason.

Hottest guy she’s ever seen.

Former fling.

Dumped her in front of her friends.

At her own party.

So no, she’s not about to forgive and forget just because he sits next to her in class.

He thinks all he has to do is turn on those baby blues, and she’ll melt right back into his arms. Please. She’d be crazy to let this cocky player affect her again. (Tell that to her body.)

Charisma Rossi.

Nerd girl with a dash of bad.

The one who got under his skin.

The one he cut loose.

Blaze knows she’s the riskiest prospect at Waylon University, but none of the interchangeable girls he hooks up with have ever made him feel the way she did. There’s absolutely no way he can have the girl and the game.

So why can’t he stop trying to win her back?

Can this wide receiver score the girl or will he make the biggest fumble of his life

Kara's Review

I Hate You is the newest standalone romance by the fabulous and talented Ilsa-Madden Mills. I’ve said this before and I’ll continue saying it, every time I read one of her books, her new hero becomes my favorite. I never think it’s possible, but it is. My name is Kara and I’m a Madden-Mills Hussy. Period. This book has everything you want in a romance. Sexy footballer with a heart of gold, smart, gorgeous heroine who’s strong and mouthy. Emotional, sexy, hate, love and everything in between! Ya’ll, Blaze is one of my favorite heroes of 2019. The man can run, catch a ball, sing, play guitar, speak his mind and dazzle the world with his smile. But he’s also deep, haunted, and never had the love and family he craved. Charisma isn’t your typical sorority girl. She’s not tall or blonde or skinny, BUT she’s gorgeous with her curves, dark hair and confidence, and come on, she’s Italian! My favorite thing about her :). She has rules for a reason. No kissing. Sex is just sex. Until Blaze. There was something about him that made her rethink all her rules. And then he broke her heart. Now he seems to be everywhere she is. When they have a class together and end up sitting next to each other, it’s on. He wants to be friends. He can’t stay away from her. She’s the only girl he’s ever felt more for, but he doesn’t know what those feelings are and he tends to run instead of stay and fight. She makes him feel. Makes him want more. Makes him crazy! He loves everything about her from the top of her head to the tips of her sexy as sin heels. But he has a hard time expressing his feelings, or so he thinks. He doesn’t get that the words he uses, the way he speaks to her lights a fire inside her. Charisma doesn’t know why a man like him would want her. She has her own insecurities she’s trying to outrun. She’s afraid of love, he’s trying to run from it. Together, they just need to stop and see each other and the world fades away leaving them the answers they crave. Sometimes you have to let someone go and find the courage to chase after them. The big gesture. The pretty words. Sometimes actions and words are both needed to calm your heart so it recognizes it’s other half. Blaze is everything. Every. Damn. Thing. He’s one of those heroes who I wish were real so some lucky girl could be the recipient of his voice, his songs, his words, his humor and his body. Charisma is just the right woman for him. She has a family who she adores and who love her and make her crazy. She has curves, but she owns them, and she knows who she is! Together they are like puzzle pieces, they just fit. Overall, it’s one of my favorite books of 2019. I laughed, cried (oh, how did I cry), swooned, got mad, upset and pretty much smiled the entire time. I Hate You is one of those books that when I was done I wanted to start it over again from the beginning. That very rarely happens to me! I’m already trying to find time in my schedule!

He’s a sparkly, sexy unicorn. And everyone wants to ride him.

“I like you bossy, as long as you know I’m really in charge.”

“Weren’t you always?” she grumbles.

“What was that? Did you say I was in always in charge?”

“Yes, you’re the alpha male. Everyone knows it. Girls beg to be with you, and men adore you.”

“How can you be hard again?”

“I’m twenty-one and horny as fuck. Been missing you. Get in my lap.”

Her chest swells as she turns to me, the golden glints in her eyes flashing. Lightning in a bottle. I want that. Jesus, I want to hold it in my hands, tame it, and write it on my heart.

“I’ve been on a diet for seven day, but all I’ve lost is a week.”

“Figured. You flew right past me in the cookie aisle and never looked up. We always seem to find each other.”

I grimace. “I didn’t want to see those frosted cookies with the sprinkles. Ah, sprinkles, my old nemesis.” I shake a fist in the air, but he doesn’t even crack a smile.

“I smelled your perfume when you hit the liquor aisle. Figured you were back there somewhere.”

He’s everything. He’s everything I never knew I wanted. He’s perfection wrapped in a dark, deep lake, and I ache to swim in those waters, to discover his secrets and let him delve into mine.

I’m scared I won’t be worth your love. I’m scared of those big words because they mean so much to me. What if you leave me? What if I’m so fucked up that one day, you finally see it and walk away?”

Blaze gives them all that megawatt smile and they all freaking blink then slowly recover.

Sandra's Review

5 out of 5 stars

I Hate You is Ilsa Madden-Mills’s newest enemies to lovers slash sports romance. It can be read as standalone but I do recommend reading I Dare You and I Bet You. If you haven’t yet, you will after reading I Hate You. I was first introduced to Blaze and Charisma in I Bet You. Blaze being a cocky football player and Ryker’s best friend and teammate, and Charisma being Penelope’s kickass bestie and roommate. Their banter was there then and it’s even more now. Except now it’s full of hate with a side of lust…
Three months. It’s been three months since Blaze dumped her in front of everyone at her party. Since then she has been avoiding him like the plague. And now, she was ready. It’s a new semester. She is over him. She is ready to get back to the person she was before him. He broke down some of her walls during their fling but they were back up and stronger than ever. Her rules are still in place. No kissing. No sleepovers. She only had six more months until she was out of Mississippi and on to bigger and better things. She’s got this. Until he walked in and her body betrayed her. It still feels his hands on her. The way he made her feel. The way he made her laugh. Her mind knows better though…she needs to stay away from Blaze Townsend before she goes and breaks the rules again.
Blaze is surprised to see her. It’s been three months since he made an ass of himself. It was for the best, he needed to focus on the game. It was the year of the draft. The NFL and being with her was a distraction. He knows she hates him and he hates her. Hates her for getting under his skin and never leaving. He knows he should stay clear of her but her feistiness, curves, and smarts pulls him in. She makes him wanted. Not like the other girls who just want to use him. She started to see the real him and it scared the fuck out of him. It was too much. And she had her rules. Her damn rules.
Blaze and Charisma have history. Their fling only lasted three weeks but it was more than that. You can feel their connection from the very start. Their banter is full of hate but deep down it’s anything but. Their walls are up. Way up. Will they fall one brick at a time while being together in the same class? In the same social circle once again? Can they move forward or will they go backwards and not recover from the hurt of three months ago?
I loved, loved, loved this book! I was addicted from the beginning to the very end. They are two people from very different backgrounds who need to find their way. Figure out what is important. Who they really are. I love Charisma. She is definitely a feisty one full of wit. And Blaze. Yum! He has deepness to him that he has to find himself. He didn’t know what Love was growing up. Therefore, he isn’t good expressing himself with words. I just loved these two together.
Overall…I can’t get enough of this team and the ones they fall for. I got all the feels with this one. I cried. I laughed. I got hot and bothered. I cried some more. I got angry. And I wanted to slap a bitch. I was all over the place and loved every minute of it.
“You keep turning up wherever I go. You stalking me?”
“Fate’s a cruel bitch. We’ve been here almost four years, and this is the first class we’ve had together. Lucky me.”
“Blaze Townsend, you better shut your mouth, get those notes out, and start studying. Focus.”
Damn. “I like you bossy, as long as you know I’m really in charge.”
“Weren’t you always?” she grumbles.
🔹 Since I do love VB:
“Are you gonna fuck or what, bitches?” squawks Vampire Bill from his cage.
Blaze leans up on his elbow and eyes the parrot. “You’re one rude motherfucker.” There’s no heat in his words, and the bird eyes him warily.
“Rude motherfucker!” he repeats back. Blaze bursts out laughing.
