Debase_eBook_PROOF5.jpg

With blood on my hands, I held her.

With death in my soul, I took from her.

With the devil in my heart, I coveted her.

There are many definitions of Hell.

My list was exhaustive, my definitions tragic.

Tonight I was adding something new to the very top.

Girl number six thirty-two.

She arrived on my birthday, the same day, every year, I play Russian Roulette and pull the trigger.

She was my omen.

My end game.

She made it personal.

And for the first time in my life, I gave in.

A virgin mob boss with no soul.

My name is Andrei Petrov.

They call me the devil.

All I want is for the pain to end.

All she wants is for me to share it.

I am the last remaining heir to a dynasty that should burn in Hell.

And my last wish remains for it to die with me.

Sandra's Review

Debase is the eleventh book in the Eagle Elite series. It is also the first in an all new series, Elite Bratva Brotherhood. So, here’s the deal, you do not have to read the previous books to become addicted to these families. I actually didn’t even start the series until the eighth book, Enrage. On Day I will start from the beginning. Word of advice: Read the Author’s Note! Ok. Back to Debase. I don’t want to spoil anything. I really don’t want a hit out on me for that one so I will make it fast.
Number six thirty-two. He never gave them names. Only numbers. And when he saw number six thirty-two he knew she was different and that was why he loathed her. She intrigued him. No other woman has. He wanted to study her. He couldn’t do that if she was locked in a cage. He needed to study her up close. He knew she wouldn’t run. He was Russian. He was a killer. He had no soul. He would kill her without a second thought.
Number six thirty two. That was her new name. She didn’t know why she was in his presence. He didn’t even want to look at her but he wanted her in his prison. Not the one out there but in here. His place. Was he playing a game with her before he would throw her away for dead? She didn’t understand many things especially why she thought this man was beautiful.
Ok. That’s it. I will say that OMFG…it was amazing!!! I didn’t want to put it down but I always didn’t want it to end. I wanted to savor every intense moment. I felt like I was right there in the middle of the families. Maybe a nanny or bartender in the background. I don’t know. What I do know is that Rachel has a way of making me love these badass fucking men. Ones who enjoy torturing their enemies then going to Sunday dinner. Ones who tease during group texts! They are so normal but also so fucking not. I love them and their wives and children. I can’t wait to see what is up next in this new series.
Overall…READ IT!!! It’s one of the best books I have read this year. Maybe even ever! I am still reeling. I want more. Now. But I do know it will be sooooo worth the wait. No rush for perfection.
P.S. I had so many notes for this one and didn’t use any of them. Eeeek! So good. I never re-read books. Ever but I want to read this one again!
Quotes:
“Family dinner, this Saturday. Bring someone so Chase stops asking if you’re a virgin.”
At that I did laugh. “Chase can suck my dick.”
“Saying things like that doesn’t really help, Drei.”
“Don’t make eye contact with anyone. They’ll think it’s an invitation, and I’ve already hit my quota on murders today.”
“Please tell me you don’t name all your torturous animals.”
He just shrugged and said, “The jellyfish’s name is Bob.”
5 out of 5 stars

Debase is the first book in the new series Elite Bratva Brotherhood and also the last book in the Eagle Elite series by the fantastic and talented Rachel Van Dyken. I’ve said it before and I’ll continue saying it: Rachel can write anything! But, her mafia has a special place in my heart and these characters will forever be a part of me. I don’t see this as the end of the Eagle Elite because I know we will continue to see the men we love, because, well…Rachel. And I’m SO excited about the start of this new series. We know Andrei. We hated Andrei. Oh man, do we love us some Andrei. He’s a special kind of tortured soul. A killer. A man. A leader. A tragic soul. A mob boss. Not a lover. But the Italians gave him friends. Gave him a purpose. He doesn’t know love. Can’t love himself and hasn’t ever loved anyone else. The Italians are showing him the way. To embrace who you are and let it all out and in. They are a scary bunch of men, but they are smart, loving, fierce and loyal. And their loyalty now encompasses Andrei and his new woman. His only woman. Ever. She knows how this works. She’s lived it. Hated it. But something about this is different. Andrei isn’t who she thought he was. There’s something in his eyes that screams more than just ‘be very afraid.’ There’s longing, desire. A man behind the monster. They can’t possibly make it work, can they? How much blood will be shed before it’s all over? Will Andrei survive the aftermath? This book. This man. This story. It was so much more than I ever thought it would be. I didn’t expect to love him so much. Rachel has a way of doing that to me. Makes me love these vicious killers. I want to have Sunday dinner and watch them bring out the knives and threaten to shoot each other. I want to feel the heat, the love, the loyalty. I loved watching Andrei fall. It was a spectacular ride that I didn’t want to end!

“Sometimes I wish I didn’t like you more than the others.”

“I like killing, you like killing, I have rage, you have rage. We’re pretty much married by now.” ~ Chase.

“I can’t decide… What I enjoyed more. The kiss or the slap.”

“I can demonstrate the slap again if you want.”

“No, that’s okay.”

“You taste like salvation.”

“You taste like damnation. Heaven and Hell.”
