Wow! This series. It makes my heart rate go a mile a minute with each page. Between the twists, emotions, and sexiness… I am dead. And believe me, this book in fire. I absolutely loved it. Of course there were times I wanted to throat punch someone but at the same time I loved them. Hey, sometimes you have a complicated relationships with fictional characters, right? Haha. With that being said, I can’t wait for The Rules of Dating my One-Night Stand.
The Rules of Dating My Best Friend’s Sister is the second book in The Law of Opposites Attract series by the fabulous writing duo of Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. I’ve been hoping we’d get more stories from this group of friends and I’m so glad Holden was next! He’s the sexy, handsome drummer with a heart of gold. Yeah, he was a playboy, but he just never met the right woman. Well, that’s not entirely accurate. He met her years ago and had a major crush. She just happens to be Ryan’s sister! His best friend who passed away. He never thought he’d have the opportunity to act on his feelings, but now she’s living next door to him and the more he sees her the more he likes her. Yes, he wants her in his bed, but he just wants to be with her. Talk to her. Laugh with her. Like they used to do when they were younger. But she’s engaged, so friends it is. Well mostly. Holden can’t exactly hide his feelings or his intentions but he won’t cross that line. He might step over it and then quickly step back, but ultimately it’s Lala’s choice to make. I enjoyed a lot about this book. Mainly, Holden. I found him genuine and caring and I connected with him and his indecision to pour his heart out but afraid because he wasn’t sure what Lala wanted. He felt like she just wanted the physical when he wanted it all. I didn’t connect with her at all. She was just meh for me and I’m not sure if it was that line into the cheating or just the miscommunication that bothered me. I also didn’t love the lack of support from his best friends. Yeah, we know he’s not had relationships and loves women, but I thought they were pretty harsh and not understanding at all. I’m glad I read it, I really wanted his story, and in the end I was happy with the way it all played out. I loved seeing Billie and Colby again too!
