Wicked Fall (The Wicked Horse Series Book #1)
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: July 28, 2015

Never in your wildest dreams could you begin to imagine all the filthy and depraved things that go on inside The Wicked Horse. Step inside and Woolf Jennings will make every one of your dirty fantasies come true.

He’s covered in a facade of deception. An enticing blend of multi-millionaire and hot-as-hell Wyoming rancher, those that think they know Woolf Jennings admire his abilities to preside as CEO of his family’s cattle and oil empire. But only a privileged few truly understand what fuels the glitter of depravity in those gorgeous blue eyes. Only a few know he’s opened up a sinfully erotic and private sex club named The Wicked Horse right at the base of the beautiful Teton Mountain range.

Sweet Callie Hayes has returned home to Wyoming and is looking forward to starting her life over again. After a night of impetuosity, she’s managed to put herself right in Woolf’s line of sight… the man who she foolishly offered up her virginity to years ago and was flatly turned down.

Now Woolf is seeing that Callie is all grown up and has a kinky side to her that leaves him as confused as it does turned on. Worse yet, both Callie’s dirty desires and sweet heart are getting under his skin, and making Woolf question everything he’s ever believed about himself.

Kara's Review

5 Stars

I have read all of Sawyer Bennett’s books and I love them all. Sawyer has the ability to come up with new stories, characters and plots that are unique and interesting. You never feel like you’re reading the same story over and over again. Case in point, Woolf. Named for a literary icon, but fits the mold of the predatory animal. In a good way. Woolf is running the family cattle and oil empire, but his secret passion is his sex club The Wicked Horse. When Callie, a woman from his past, shows up in his club he can’t help but want her. When he finds out that she’s looking for something extra in her sex life, he can’t hold himself back. Will Woolf’s lifestyle connect him and Callie or will it push her away? Can Callie handle the kinky side of Woolf? These two have crazy hot chemistry! I loved this story about second chance love, finding yourself and truly being who you are meant to be! Woolf is sexy, smart, hot, dirty-mouthed with a soft side. I can’t wait for the rest of the books in the series! Bring ’em on!

No, I don’t want to nibble at life. I want to take a big fucking bite, suck down its juiciness, and swallow it hard with a moan.

With such force that in this moment, I would do whatever he asked of me. I’d give him my soul. Most definitely my body.

“Don’t you ever call yourself ‘pathetically dull’ again because that was single-handedly the sexiest, most exciting thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

I loved Sawyer’s Last Call Series at in Shaken, Not Stirred you meet Tenn’s Brother, Woolf and the minute I met him, I knew he had a kinky side so I was so excited that he was getting his own story and it would be the start of a new series!

Woolf is the CEO of his family’s business and even though he loves the ranching side of it, he doesn’t like the sitting behind a desk part. It’s not his passion, his passion is more on the kinkier side. He decides to open a nightclub called The Wicked Horse but what he really loves is what’s behind it, The Silo and private cabins for exclusive club members. The Silo is more open and caters to people that enjoy being watched and watching the action behind the windows in the rooms. The private cabins are for the ultimate fantasies of couples and singles that want to enjoy each other pleasures. Woolf has opened this club with his best friend since college, Bridger. Both men enjoy all kinds of women but only for pleasure and nothing more until one night when Woolf sees the sweet woman from his past that shouldn’t be in the club…

Callie wants to let loose after coming back home. She needs this after what has just happened a few days ago. She doesn’t want to just be the sweet and obeying Callie anymore, she needs to find herself and The Wicked Horse nightclub is a great place to start until she sees him. Woolf. The man she has loved since he was putting frogs in her bed as a child. She had no idea he owned this club and now she was about to get to know a while lot more about his new businesses.

Woolf and Callie have a past that includes one night of sexiness but it never went any further, Woolf left and he seems to have a pattern when it comes to her. He is torn between knowing the sweet Callie and this new Callie. He doesn’t want her to get into more than she could handle and he doesn’t believe he is good enough for her. But after she opens up, she is more open to his kinky side than he thought. But is it an act or is that really her? Is she only showing this side to prove something to him?

Woolf’s passion is The Silo and the pleasurable cabins but can he have them and Callie? Will he have to give up one for the other? Is Callie enough for all of his desires? And can she accept Woolf’s kinky side?

I loved Woolf and Callie’s story! It’s about second chances, acceptance, finding your passion and finding yourself. Woolf and Callie’s chemistry is off the charts hot but is that enough?

I can’t wait for the next book! The preview is fucking hot.

“I’m not the same girl you grew up with,” I tell him hotly. Well, at least I don’t want to be the same girl he grew up with. That Callie Hayes has spent years of her life being quiet and well mannered, leading a peacefully dull existence up until now.

“Don’t ever call yourself ‘pathetically dull’ again because that was single-handedly the sexiest, most exciting thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

“She and I are too different,” I point out. “She’s all sunshine and sweet lemonade. I’m like a thunderstorm and will roll right over her, ruining everything she is.”

Kara's Review

I can’t even describe the feeling I get when I hear that AL Jackson is writing a new book. I’ve called her a literary genius before and it stands true now more than ever. Her writing is lyrical and poetic. Her words pull emotions from so far deep inside yourself that you never knew they even existed. The words flow across the page and lodge deep into your heart never to be set free. She is one of the best writers that I have ever read. Somehow her words heighten all of your senses and you’re so immersed in the story that you smell the sea air, feel the wind on your face, taste the salty water, hear the music, and see the electricity between these two characters. I literally had chills while I read this amazing story and I finished it in one day! Sebastian has taken up residence in my heart right next to Jared and Christopher from the Closer to You Series.

Sebastian(Baz) is a bad boy. So bad. He’s hiding out in Savannah while he waits to hear news of his fate. Not being able to stay cooped up inside anymore he ventures out to a local watering hole. Minding his own business in the back corner he feels her before he sees her. Shea. Her instincts tell her run away as fast as she can, but she can’t deny the pull to this haunted, broken bad boy. They are both hiding secrets that may destroy them. But, they ignore the warning bells and jump into a passionate affair that threatens to drown their hearts. Will Baz be able to let go of his past and let Shea into his heart? Will Shea regret letting her walls crumble and letting Sebastian climb over them? This story has twists and turns and ups and down so drastic that I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride. The best feeling in the world. I can’t wait for more Baz and Shea.

For one rapturous second, time stood still as I got lost in a face that had to be the most beautiful I’d ever seen. It wasn’t perfect, and maybe that was the problem.

No, not perfect. Just beautiful and dark and a little but frightening.

His tongue peeked out for a taste, and my knees went a little weak. Good God, he was a sipper.

“Bite your tongue, woman. That thing would be the only girl I ever loved.” I bit my lip instead, my words becoming playful. “Well, doesn’t that answer a lot of questions about you, Sebastian from California.”

Fucking gorgeous. Knock the wind out of me kind of gorgeous. Sing from the mountaintops kind of gorgeous. Leave me begging on my knees kind of gorgeous. Yeah. That kind of gorgeous.

With a smile, I turned around, then froze when my sight registered the obscured figure leaning against the wall. A strangled gasp caught in my throat, and my heart took off at a sprint, blood pounding hard in my ears.

Pushing from the wall, he stepped from the shadows, his hands again stuffed deep in his pockets.

My heart rate only increased, the energy radiating from him almost as strong as the disappointment he’d left me with when he’d gone.

I pressed my hand to my chest to try to still the panic thundering against my ribs. “You scared me.”

“I’m sorry.” The words were soft. “That’s the last thing I want to do.”

But he did. I was scared of what he was capable of doing to me, the way I knew he held the power to trounce all over this hammering heart, to hold it in his hand and crush it into a million unrecognizable pieces.

“What are you doing here?” I asked on a shaky breath.

He looked to the sky and exhaled heavily, before he leveled his gaze back on me. “The same thing I’m doing every night, Shea. Thinking about you and wondering why the hell I can’t stop.”

My stomach flipped, and I gulped for air.

“What do you want from me?”

He laughed, lifted his elbows out to his sides in a helpless gesture without pulling his hands free. “Dinner?”

Nonsensical laughter shot from me. “At three in the morning?”

“Breakfast?” he amended, a coy smile pulling at his full, crooked lips.

Tingles spread across my skin, and I ran my hands up my bare arms. “I already told you I don’t have time for distractions.”

“Come on, Shea. It’s just food. Go out with me. Just tonight.”

Somehow I knew it was a lie, even though he wanted to believe it was true.

Nervously, I glanced to the back door all the while being inexplicably drawn to this man I didn’t even know. I knew I should make a break for it, run for the safety of my little world and give him no opportunity to rip it apart.

“I am hungry,” I found myself saying. After a long night of work, it was true. But it had nothing to do with the reason I was giving in.

Because I just wanted to…

I shook my head.

That was it. I just wanted. I wanted to be in his space. I wanted to understand why he had this pull on me. I wanted him.

Even though I’d never allow myself to have him.

Kara's Review

5 Stars

I love Jennifer Probst and I was excited to hear that she was writing a paranormal novella. I loved this book. Dante is sexy and mysterious. He has a gift; a superpower. By day he is Daniel, by night he is Dante. He saves women and when the woman who consumes his thoughts needs saving he steps in. Selina is an independent woman working her way to the top. She doesn’t have time for love or relationships but with Daniel it’s different, she feels something and her body wants more. But one night she needs saving and meets Dante. She falls for both of them even though they are the same man. Dante is there to help her not love her, but he can’t help it. Can he have both love and his gift? Will Selina still want him after she knows what he must do to save women? This is a great story by a wonderful writer! Don’t miss it!

“But I learned something important. Scars aren’t a weakness Selina. They’re a sign of strength because we survived.”

“I guess you don’t date many Italians. I don’t care if French women don’t get fat. I like my pasta.”

“My parents were Italian.”

He made her laugh. He made her feel good about herself. He made her feel safe. And he was hot. All through dinner, she ached to touch him. To feel those carved lips slipping over hers. She already knew he’d be a patient, thorough lover.

Blog Tour, Excerpt & *Giveaway* – Fighting for Arielle, Karina Sharp

Fighting For Arielle_Cover

August 27, 2014 By

Arielle Abbott has the world at her fingertips but soon loses her way. As a young Navy wife, she thought she was headed for a life of adventure, but instead found herself in an unhappy marriage to a controlling man. In a chance meeting with a handsome stranger named Mick, Arielle begins to envision a way out. She soon finds out that Mick is a Navy JAG officer. He is the person best in a position to help her. However, she begins to fall for him and learns that their relationship is taboo. With just a pet tortoise and her new friend Macy to keep her sane, Arielle embarks on a journey to find self-fulfillment and love.

Arielle, reaches over to me and gently massages my ear as she searches my face- for what, I’m not certain. Then, she leans into me and kisses me delicately.

I love all of her kisses; they all speak different words and sometimes even different languages, but I understand each and every one.

We hold hands as we get up from the table and walk into the grass, which is cool and soft.

We sit next to one another, she lays her head on my shoulder, and we look out onto the moon reflecting off the water. I hear Arielle taking in controlled and deliberate breaths as if she’s gearing up to say something. I wait patiently for her to say what she needs to say.

Upon completion of a few more deep breathing exercises, she keeps her head on my shoulder, looking out onto the water, and says hesitantly, “Show me the way.”

Not sure that I heard her correctly, I ask to clarify. “What?”

She keeps staring at the water, but grips my hand tighter. “Show me the way. I trust you to light the way, so lead the way, and I am right there behind you.” She lifts her head, searching my face in the darkness.

“I’d rather you be beside me,” I say as I take in her soft and lovely features.
Her eyes show a degree of uncertainty.

I smile in response and brush her wavy hair behind her ear. “I will hold your hand the entire way.”

Arielle’s face is illuminated by the moonlight, and I can see signs of both worry and hope in it. Her expression is earnest as she asks, “Promise?”

“Scout’s honor.”

I kiss her knuckles one by one as she nestles her head and body deeper into my shoulder.

I am both thrilled and fearful of her trusting me so unconditionally. The gift of holding someone’s heart is a monumental responsibility with the potential for very grave and detrimental consequences. It is not a decision to be taken lightly, but Arielle trusts me enough to give it to me, and I will prove to her that I am worthy of her tribute. I need to show her what she means to me and how seriously I feel about her. I need her to know, without a doubt, that she too holds my heart, and together we are complete. I will protect her and devote myself to her happiness, because from this moment forward, my life and future is no longer I or me- only us.

I run my hand over her soft hair and inhale her. I brush my thumb behind her ear and move it down her cheek, across her jaw, and to her chin. I gently pull away, leaving her chin resting in my hand, and lower my head so that my eyes are level with hers.

I look into her uncertain, yet trusting eyes.

“Let’s wrap the moon around us and feel what it is for me to worship you.”

“What are you afraid of?” he asks, still kissing me lightly.

“I’m afraid that if I take the leap, you will watch me fall and then tell me how stupid I was for leaping in the first place. Against all of my rationale and efforts otherwise, I have fallen for you. You have my heart, which means you control it. My poor heart is just pieced together with duct tape around it. I’m afraid if I allow you to keep it that when you return it, because I am certain you will, it will be beyond repair.”

I turn my body into his and worry he’s going to tell me I’m right.

He looks down at me, water rolling off the ends of his hair. “If you give me your heart, I will gently remove the duct tape as you let go of your fears and painstakingly sew it together piece by piece, stitch by stitch. I will fill any gaps or missing pieces with my love and ensure that it will be nothing but whole and delicate and beautiful ever again, just like you. I believe in you. I believe in us. If you’ll let me, I will show you how far a little faith can take you.”

His words make my legs feel as if they could just melt into the ground, my heart race, my stomach drop, and send electrical pulses coursing throughout my appendages. I’m not sure that I am what he needs or if I am even right for him, but I do know he is what I need. I need him like I need air in my lungs and blood in my veins. The same sense of urgency I felt the first time I told him to kiss me returns, but this time, I need more than just his kisses. I need all of him.

I kiss his mouth and whisper in his ear, “When we get back, we’re going to shower, and then you’re going to make love to me like you never made love to anyone before. But first, we have to get there.”

I feel his excitement through his shorts and his breathing deepens.

“And McCrary…”

He takes a deep swallow and whispers out, “Yes?”

I brush my lips against his earlobe and feel the hair on the back of his neck stand up. “Tag! “You’re it!” I take off running.

From behind me, I hear him yell, “You’re evil!”

Kara's Review

5 Stars

I start all my Sawyer Bennett reviews the same – I have read all of her books and I love her and them! This is the 3rd book in the Last Call Series. I didn’t think I could love someone more than Brody, but Gavin snuck up on me. He’s, gorgeous, sexy, tortured, broody, witty, British and has a dirty mouth. My favorite kind of hero. Gavin is hiding from his past and he’s rude. mean and new in town. He hires Savannah, a sweet, hard working, innocent girl to clean his house. He’s not prepared for the pull towards her and he refuses to acknowledge that he might care. Instead, he’s rude to her, uses his dirty mouth to try and embarrass her and make her run. He underestimates her innocence and her moxie! Gavin pushes Savannah beyond her boundaries – can you say amazing car scene? Their chemistry is off the charts hot and they start to burrow into each other’s hearts. Gavin might be broody and stoic, but he’s a writer and he has an amazing way with words. He knows how to express himself but Savannah doesn’t know how to believe him. Can they get over their pasts and learn to love again? Or will their worst fears come to the surface? Do not miss this amazing story of loss, pain, lust and love. You won’t be sorry!

I’m driving an Italian sports car on a lonely highway with an insanely gorgeous and carnally sinful man with his hand between my legs. There’s no other way for this to go but hard and fast.

Desire, not lust.

Because they are two different things.

Lust suggests a carnal need to slake oneself until there is no further need.

Desire suggests a craving…something that is pervasive and without end. Something that pulls at you…warms you from the inside out and fogs your senses entirely.

Simply pit…she had become an obsession for me, and I wondered about the lunacy of my thoughts, I really decided that I didn’t give a flying f if I was going crazy. In the short time I’d known her, I had become addicted to her brand of sweet.

Sandra's Review

5 Stars

Sugar on the Edge is the third novel in the Last Call Series but can be read as a stand alone. I have not read On The Rocks which is the first in the series but did read Make It A Double and that is where I met Savannah…the so-called quiet one.

Gavin Cooke has moved from England to a small town in North Carolina to leave everything behind to work on his next erotic thriller novel. He has worked his way through England with booze, drugs and many women and now he needs to settle down and get to work. It is not not an easy task. He is a tortured, dark and twisted and his only real friend is Macallan, his bottle of scotch. He doesn’t do happy, not even happy woman….he would rather make them feel pain, like the pain he feels daily.

Savannah is the new friend in the group of friends, she is Casey Markham’s roommate and works her tail to the bone. She is a photographer’s assistant, volunteer at The Haven, bartender when needed and also a Housekeeper. When Casey tells her that the man she just sold a house to needs a housekeeper. She has been warned that he is not the nicest man but she needs the job. When she first meets Gavin she was not surprised by his attitude but surprised for other reasons….he is hot, British and sets her on fire. But also an asshole….

Gavin is in awe of Savannah. He believed that is was shy and just did what she was told but she shocks the shit out of him everyday. He doesn’t do happy but he can’t stop thinking about his little housekeeper, he makes excuses to see her whenever he can. And Savannah is good for him…they need each other. They bring things out in one another that was deep down.Their sexual relationship is fucking amazing. They can’t get enough of one another and when they open up emotionally, it’s beautiful. But what is going to happen when the novel is finished? Can he really settle down in North Carolina? Can he move past his tortured past? When things get rough, can they work together?

This was a hard review. I know I say that a lot but I can go on and on about Gavin and Savannah! I can’t wait to see what happens in the next Last Call novel.

I’m betting Gavin Cooke knows how to do that for a woman. Sure, he’s brash, arrogant, and a jerk, but deep within those eyes, you can tell that part of his ego is what makes him a undoubtably fantastic lover. I bet he doesn’t know how to do a poor job of nothing.

Savannah doesn’t know me all that well at all, but she understands that Killing the Tides was borne of a pervasive darkness within me.

“Now, Sweet…stop telling the girls all of our sexy secrets or there will be no ropes for you tonight.”

Annessa finished her brownie, licked her fingers, and then reached for a napkin. “Let’s get this party started.”

Verity nodded in agreement. “Who was in charge of entertainment?”

“Me.” Annessa’s sly grin almost made her wish she hadn’t asked. “Any requests?”

She raised an eyebrow. “Did you call a stripper?”

“No. That’s what started the trouble last time.”

Lexi frowned. “I though Tequila was responsible.”

“That too,” Annessa mumbled. “This time, I planned a scavenger hunt.”

“That sounds fun!” Lexi sat forward in her chair, obviously intrigued. “Did you warn the neighbors?”

“No.” Annessa grabbed several cards from a table beside the sofa. “I highly doubt the neighbors will have the items on this list.”

Verity accepted her card from Annessa and then read the items she was supposed to collect: a badge, a helmet, a pair of men’s boxers or briefs, a baseball bat, a twenty dollar bill, and a slice of chocolate cake.

Severely competitive by nature, she knew without a doubt she could commandeer each and every item on her list in less than fifteen minutes. Explaining how to her friends, however, would take more than forty five. Time stood still as she attempted to wrap her brain around the minute possibility of giving up before the game began.

Finally, she cleared her throat. “How on Earth am I supposed to get number three?”

Annessa leaned down to read the list and then grinned while she straightened. “Surely you know someone who will hand over his boxers.”

No need to hand them over, there was an extra pair in her dresser drawer – a fact she refused to share with the other women. Instead, she attempted to turn the tables. “I see an unfair advantage here.”

“Don’t worry, Verity.” Lexi shrugged, obviously not as concerned about acquiring a pair of men’s underwear. “I’m in the same boat.”

Annessa raised an eyebrow. “Are you in or out?”

“I’m in as long as we agree that you and Vanessa have to ambush someone other than Dane and Casey.”

“Fine, but I have another stipulation. You can’t buy them, they have to come off a warm body.”

“You guys are always so much fun!” Lexi giggled and stood.

Annessa cocked her head to one side. “Travis hasn’t given you the steer clear of the Dupree twins warning?”

Verity laughed out loud and then immediately realized she’d given them a wealth of information. A shiver crossed her neck when Annessa moved her gaze directly into hers.

“He warned you, huh?”

“He might’ve mentioned something like that.”

“Oh, really? When?”

Vanessa swallowed hard and held her ground. “He carted me out of McGill’s the same time Casey did you, remember?”

“He did, didn’t he?” Her friend simply nodded. “Better you than me.”

“So, how long is this hunt going to take?” Vanessa gestured at the kitchen. “I don’t want the pie to burn.”

“We each have six items to collect,” Annessa explained. “I say we meet back here in an hour. The first one to return with all her booty wins.”

Still hesitant, Verity rubbed her card against her palm. “What’s the prize?”

“Well, if you’re lucky, you’ll find your own prize. But at far as the party is concerned, you win bragging rights.”

“For what?”

Annessa’s mischievous grin returned. “Talking a man out of his boxers.”

“I’m taking the pie out.” Vanessa headed for the kitchen. “I’ll finish cooking it when we’re done.”

Annessa lifted her wrist and glanced at her watch. “Synchronize your watches, ladies. As soon as Vanessa returns, the game begins.”

Guest Post

Greetings from the hot and humid state of Oklahoma! My name is Mia Dymond and I write sexy contemporary romance novels with a twist of sass. I currently have fourteen novels available on retailers including iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Amazon, and Smashwords.

My most recent release is Cross My Heart, Book 2 in the Heroes of Seaside Point series. This novel is the story of Verity Thomas and Travis Dupree, who were introduced in Book 1, Tattoo My Heart. To bring you up to speed, enjoy an excerpt from Tattoo My Heart:

Travis breathed a sigh of relief when his hands hit the nearest wall, preventing him from falling flat on his ass, still not quite sure why he stumbled in the first place.

“You can’t go in there.”

At the sound of a sultry, soft-spoken voice, he glanced down between his arms and noticed he now caged an all-too-familiar beautiful creature. A waterfall of long, black hair framed the fair-skinned beauty with sleepy, glazed eyes.

“Verity? What the hell are you doing here?”

“Vanessa’s getting married.”

He lifted one hand and ran it through his hair, grinning at the hiccup and giggle that followed her response. “How much have you had to drink?”

She dismissed him with a wild wave of one dainty little hand. “Not much.”

He snickered at the next hiccup that left her mouth and ran his knuckles down the side of one smooth, porcelain cheek. “I think you’re mistaken.”

A soft sigh left her plump, pouty lips as she rested her head back against the wall and blinked several times in rapid succession as if she could clear the haze from her incredibly sexy midnight blue eyes. Eyes so blue they were almost black in the heat of passion.

“In fact,” he said as he lowered his head, “I’d say you’re pretty drunk, Doc.”

Before he could stop himself, Travis pressed his lips to hers. Her eyes widened and he prepared for a struggle. Instead, she draped both arms around his neck and split his lips with her tongue.

His cock hardened when a breathy moan left her throat and her full breasts caressed the surface of his chest. Out of desperate need, he moved his hands from the wall and slid them beneath her shirt to palm each one, plucking her peaked nipples with a thumb.

“Travis, please.”

Her whispered plea traveled the length of his dick as she thrust her breasts further into his touch. Suddenly, logic and promises evaporated into thin air. He smashed his hips against hers, aligning his greedy cock with what he knew to be a warm, wet treasure. Another whimper vibrated his lower lip and then she ground against him. Up and down, then side to side with some sort of cock-strangling hip roll thrown in.

His scalp tingled as her hands left her neck and tunneled in his hair, her fingers winding in the strands, pulling and squeezing with each lazy roll of her hips. Ah, damn, if he could find the strength to release her breasts, it would only take seconds to lower his zipper. And only a few more milliseconds to cram himself between her legs and take them both to Heaven.

Or hell.

His dick screamed in agony while he groaned out loud and gently separated their lips. “Verity baby, this is dangerous.”

“Don’t care.” Her hands left his neck to cup the bulge in his jeans.

“You will tomorrow.” With his dick now cursing, he moved her hand to his mouth and pressed a kiss to the palm.

“Fine,” she mumbled.

He straightened her top and motioned with his head at the ladies room door. “Is Van the only one in there?”

She nodded and swayed to the left.

“Whoa.” He grasped her elbow and lowered her to the floor. “Sit right here.”

“That’s the ladies room.”

“Yeah, so?”

She placed both palms against the floor and attempted to move her legs underneath her to stand. “So, I’m a girl. I’ll go.”

Travis snickered. Girl? No, Dr. Verity Thomas might be female, but she was no girl. She was a full-blown, swallow-your-tongue incredibly beautiful woman. The one woman whose brilliant mind, as well as her amazingly sexy body, held his divine interest. And the one woman who insisted they keep their association quiet.

He gave her shoulders a gentle push until her sweet little ass kissed the floor. “Then I’d have to carry you both out. Just make sure no one comes inside behind me.”

“Oh please.” She rolled her head to one side and snorted. He bit the side of his cheek to keep from grinning at the obvious alcoholic-induced noise. “I’m a doctor. I know how much I can drink before my body is affected.”

He squatted in front of her and took her chin in his hand. “Sweetheart, you might be the doctor, but take it from me, your body is definitely affected. And if you’ll tilt your eyes downward, you’ll see just how affected mine is at the thought of you losing control.”

I hope you’ll enjoy Cross My Heart! Happy Reading!!!

Grant Kingsley and Lane Miller have both had their eyes on Gracie for years, but the feisty cowgirl has managed to keep them at bay. As far as they are concerned, cowboys don’t give up, and neither of them is ready to give up just yet. Not on her and not on the heat that transpires between the two of them.

I have read all of Nicole’s books and they are all amazing.  Sexy, sweet, funny, steamy.   I love Cowboys and no one does them better than Nicole Edwards.  Lane and Grant are damn hot and when you add in Gracie…Oh My! I read this novella in one sitting and I’m not so patiently waiting for Betting on Grace.  If you’re looking for a short, hot read, this is your kind of book. I never miss a Nicole Edwards read!

 “Yep,” he agreed.

Neither of them moved.

“What happens when she doesn’t open the door?” Lane asked.

“No idea, ” Grant offered.

“How ’bout I lead the way?”

“All Right.”

Lane Miller was the most confident cowboy Grant had ever met. At six-feet-three-inches, with thighs like redwood trees, an upper body that filled out a T-shirt to its max, and lips that…

Part of it was due to the fact that he was already a little bit in love with both of them. Had been for quite a while although he hadn’t admitted it. Hadn’t had any reason to. Until now.

This is my first Nicole Edwards book. My blog partner loves her so she was the one to put it on her list but when I saw the synopsis, I had to sneak it in onto mine as well. I already know is will be reading another one since I already bought Betting on Grace and starting on release day.

Grant and Lane work on a Dude Ranch in Texas and one night while they were hanging out in Grant’s cabin things get hot. They were both holding the attraction to each other but they just couldn’t take it anymore and they went there. What Lane did not expect was what would happen next but he was very excited about the possibilities….

Gracie is the daughter of the owner of the Dude Ranch and she also worked there. She was a hard shell to crack, she has known the two cowboys for years and tried her best to keep her distance. She was very attracted to both Grant and Lane but she didn’t want them knowing that, they have been asking her out for the past two years. But she didn’t want to get involved especially after what she had seen….

Grant and Lane both knew that Gracie liked them but was fighting it. Lane also knew she was up to a little fun from what he saw the other night. Could they all get what they wanted? Can they actually figure it out? Would feelings be in it or just sex?

This book is fucking hot! I thought I was going to have to pick up smoking after reading it. I didn’t but my god I was worked up. It is short, Hot and sweet. I can’t wait to read Betting On Grace and luckily I don’t have to wait long. Nicole has gained a fan…

Something to ease the pressure hopes that Grant would see that there was something between them even if he were scared to admit it.

Yeah, this wasn’t going to easy. Not on any of them.

It was like she was at a buffet after spending an eternity without food. She wanted it all and she wanted it right now.

A Dead Heat Ranch NOVEL #1

Releases July 29th, 2014

New York Times bestselling author Nicole Edwards is continuing to heat things up with Betting on Grace, a sexy new ménage novel which is the first book in a hot new series called Dead Heat Ranch.

The tables have turned on Grace Lambert. For a woman familiar with long days and hard work, she just recently discovered just how hot the sultry Texas nights can get. Finding time to spend with her two smoking hot cowboys, Grant and Lane, isn’t exactly easy, but she’s forging ahead with what has turned out to be the hottest relationship she has ever been in. The true test comes in standing up for what she wants.

Grant Kingsley has landed his feisty cowgirl, Gracie, and an equally sexy cowboy, Lane Miller, but everything outside of his romantic life has gone from routine to chaos in a matter of days. Unfortunately, he’s become rather acquainted with Murphy’s Law as he is inundated with a string of bad luck. His mother is missing, his father, a gambling addict, is worried about only one thing these days, and when Grant refuses to give in, all hell breaks loose on the ranch.

Lane Miller will be the first to admit that he falls in love easily. And he’s done so again, with both Gracie and Grant. Only this time around, he’s not giving up or giving in. Cowboys don’t know what it means to back down and Lane will ensure that the two most important people in his life get all of him, no matter what it takes.

This starts out with a Bang! Oh my…I can not get over how fucking hot it really is. I have read  one book with just one scene of a threesome and that was nothing compared to having a full book….damn.

It continues a few months from the end of boots optional. Grant, Lane and Grace are still working everything out. They don’t need her father and everyone at the ranch knowing their business so they sneak around and see each other whenever the opportunity arises.

Relationships can not only be based on amazing sex, its so much more than that. They know they care so much for one another that it hurts but it is Love? Lane has no problem saying it to both Grant and Gracie but they sure do, he can feel it but longs to hear it….

Grant is so happy to be with the two people that he cares about most, his life is going perfect until his Dad calls out of nowhere. He doesn’t have a close relationship with any of his family and he most certainly doesn’t want to deal with what happens next. He also doesn’t want to get Lane and Grace involved but when they want to show him how much they care about him, he has no choice. Can Grant really open up to the two people he cares about the most?

Gracie also needs to learn to open up to Grant and Lane. She is so stubborn and strong but underneath there is so much more to her. And, I would also bet on Grace every time.

There are many secrets going on within the ranch and not just with these three. I loved reading about the Lambert Sisters and even their father. All of her sisters are so different but are in similar situations. Maybe not exactly like Gracie, hers is unique…how long can she hide that she is with not one cowboy but two and those two are also together? Can her family ever accept it? Can they say the three words Lane longs for?  Will the other sisters loosen up with their own issues?

I loved this book so much!! Yes, it is amazingly sexy…It is about as steamy as it can get. But it also gets into the emotional part of the relationship. I can not wait to see what happens next and to read more books by Nicole!

As Lane had passed him toward the door, he had whispered, “I’m not gonna do the walk of shame forever.” That made Grant laugh, although he knew Lane was partially serious about it.

Without thinking, Grant pulled her against him, desperate to feel her heartbeat, to lean on her at a time when it felt as though the floor as about to drop it from under him.

“That doesn’t happen for me. I go through each fucking day wishin’ like hell hat at least one of you would acknowledge your feelings for me.”

***And for a funny one.

Would you look at this place? Holy shit! It was like a Pepto Bismol factory had exploded.

I love the way Nicole Edwards writes and yes, her books are hot but they are also interesting and they always tell a great story. This takes place after Boots Optional, which you need to read first.  Gracie, Grant and Lane are together and trying to make it work.  Every day life is getting in the way of them spending time together and then a few obstacles get thrown in there. Grace and Grant are keeping secrets. Lane is an open book and he is trying to get everyone to open up and just be in the relationship. He knows what he wants and he wants Gracie and Grant. They have to sneak around and it takes a toll on all of them. Can they put their pasts behind them and truly love each other? Can the three of them make this relationship work with out wondering what everyone else is going to think?  Lane is hot! He’s smooth, loving and funny. He knows what he wants and he goes after it. Grant is used to keeping his feelings hidden and he’s afraid to admit how he feels. Gracie is sassy and stubborn and she’s trying to find a way to tell her family.  We meet all of Grace’s sisters and they all have something going on! I can’t wait until the next book!!

Lane knew that life was too short to hold out for something that he recognized was unavoidable. He would do anything for Grant and Gracie. Anything. Including giving his life for them. That’s how he knew it was love.

As usual, the way Lane’s hand palmed Grant’s head possessively had Grant surrendering to Lane’s merciless tongue.

God had taken out all the stops when he’s made Grant. Tall and lean, the man had the perfect amount of muscle – not enough that he was bulky but plenty to show just how much hard work he put in each day.

“I thought you wanted to talk, ” Grant bit out, trying desperately to keep his voice low.

“No, what I really wanna do it punch you in the mouth.” Lane disputed.

Fun Author Interview with Nicole

Hot or Cold? Depends on what it is. I think I’d always pick hot.
Salty or Sweet? Sweet, definitely.
Mountains or Beach? Considering I’m scared of water, I’d have to go with mountains.
Kindle or Nook? Kindle.
Wine or Beer? Neither – I don’t happen to like either. When I do drink, which is rare, it’s vodka or rum.

Night Owl or Morning Person? Both. I don’t sleep much, but I can jump out of bed early and stay up until late.
Book – I think I’d have to go with a whole series – The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward. She is my absolute, all-time favorite author. And those vampires… swoon.
Movie– Grease and Dirty Dancing. Although the Transformer movies come in a close third.
Vacation Destination– Anywhere my kids want to go. As long as I get to spend time with them, it doesn’t matter to me. Since they’re older now, I don’t have to worry about the whole water park vacation thing anymore, which I really am not a big fan of.
Musician– At the moment, it’s Brantley Gilbert
TV Show– The Big Bang Theory
Celebrity– Jim Parsons (from The Big Bang Theory) – I respect him in so many ways. Not only is he a brilliant actor, he’s also comfortable in his own skin. I admire that.
Least Favorite :
Food– That’s a tough one. Fruitcake, maybe.
Movie– haha Dodgeball – only because Colt is always watching it. Whenever it comes on TV, he stays on that channel.
Season– Summer – In Texas, it’s just muggy and hot. We really only have two seasons here – Summer and Winter (Spring and Fall are so neutral, they kinda slip right on past without us realizing it)
Song– Oh, goodness, I can’t think of it right now. I’m not sure if it’s a song, but it is used in a commercial and it drives me absolutely crazy when I hear it.
What was the Best Compliment you have ever received? “I love your books”. Seriously, receiving messages related to my books – something that I am truly passionate about – is the most overwhelming, incredible feeling in the world. I have still never gotten used to it and I doubt I ever will. To know that someone loves what I do, it means so much.
What is your Biggest Fear? Failure. That’s something I always think about. I don’t want to let my family down.
Who was your Favorite to write? Ethan Walker. He and I became very close when I was writing his story. I think I had more of an emotional connection to him than any other character I’ve written about.

Author's Bio

I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a kid, I loved creative writing and as I got older, I got acquainted with those voices in my head and that led to putting my stories on paper. And now, here I am all these years later, spending my days doing what I love most. I decided to give myself over to writing full time in 2012 and I haven’t looked back. I spent nearly 13 years in the corporate world and I have to say, this is a bit of a change (just a little) and I am loving every second of it.

I live in Texas with my husband and three amazing kids and our four beloved dogs. If I’m not writing, I’m usually reading. I devour everything I can get my hands on. I love romance of any type and being an Indie author myself, I’m always looking for new Indies to support. I haven’t always been into reading – at least not after high school – but about eleven years ago, I picked up a book – I’m pretty sure it was by Nora Roberts – and from there, I haven’t stopped. Before I began writing full time, and my characters started taking up so much of my time, I was reading about 200 books a year. That has dwindled somewhat, but there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t read.

An interesting fact… I don’t watch television – aside from the occasional news anyway. I will go see a movie or two rarely, but for the most part, I get all of my entertainment from a book. Some of my favorite authors include J.R. Ward, Suzanne Brockmann, Lora Leigh, Jayne Rylon, Maya Banks, Lori Foster, and Jaci Burton just to name a few.

Five years ago, Kara Johansen met and fell in love with brothers Ben and Quinn Shotbrook while on vacation with her fire fighter brothers in Sitka, Alaska. They planned to marry, when tragedy struck the Shotbrook family, leaving the brothers to care for their mother and younger brothers again. They sent Kara back home to Fate Harbor, Washington, promising that one day they would reunite. Years later, Kara has made the decision that she wants to marry and start a family of her own. She has put away her dreams of ever being with Ben and Quinn and instead focuses on men who are available to her here and now. Her meddling brothers inform Ben and Quinn of her plans. The brothers Shotbrook rush to Fate Harbor to do whatever it takes to reclaim the woman they never stopped loving. Has too much changed between them to save their love?

“No, she needs to listen to me. You both do.” Quinn’s voice was implacable. He pushed Kara’s thighs up so that her knees were almost on either side of her breasts. “Hold her,” he commanded his brother. Ben reached down and grasped her legs behind the knees, keeping her open for Quinn’s perusal. She gasped as she looked down, seeing the top of her sex splayed wide with Quinn so big and imposing leaning over her, looking directly into her eyes. “You will listen to me, little one. I refuse to hurt you.” He set the condom to the side and swiped his fingers through her wet sex, pulsing with need even more than when Ben’s cock was deep in her mouth. Then she felt him enter her, and it was much more than before. Where before he had used maybe two of his sizeable fingers to stroke inside her, he now had to be using three, and she arched up in welcome. Then he pulled them out, taking more of her silky essence with him. Then he pushed more fingers in again, and she winced at the burn.

“It hurts, doesn’t it, Kara?” He demanded an answer. All she could do was nod her head yes.

Finally she gasped out, “It hurts good, Quinn.” She saw his relieved smile. He continued to pump in and out, until finally she was pushing upward to meet the rhythm of his entry, glorying in the sense of fullness, in the connection with this man. She saw his amber eyes glitter as they watched her intently, assessing her body’s reaction. He took his fingers out to suck them in his mouth, and she shuddered, watching him relish her flavor as his face flushed.

They’d been right to blindfold her. She was now experiencing every sense, and it was amazing. She watched as he picked up the condom, and ripped it open with his intensely white teeth. As he sheathed his cock, she tried to reach forward to touch him, but Ben’s grip kept her in place.

“Next time, Kara,” Ben soothed. “We want to make you feel good. Let Quinn do this.” She watched and felt as the broad head of his cock, so much more than his fingers, snuggled at her needy entrance.

“Oh, my God, can you see this, Ben?” Quinn looked up with a stunned expression, including his brother in this most intimate moment. Ben bent forward over her head, getting a better view. She gave a huff of dissatisfaction that she couldn’t see what they were seeing.

“She’s incredible, brother,” Ben said in a strained voice. Then Kara felt the liquid push just trying to breach the tight muscle of her opening, and she couldn’t help but flinch at the discomfort. Quinn looked deep into her eyes. He felt the resistance of her body, and knew that his girth had to be causing some pain.

“Help her, Ben,” Quinn instructed, while he held still. Ben kept hold of her left leg but gently lowered her right leg, and then his fingers were hovering over her engorged clit, and just one touch had her gasping in reaction. As if he understood that anything more than a featherlike touch would be too much for her swollen bud, he softly caressed her, causing sparks to emanate from that one spot to her entrance, relaxing her and allowing Quinn to slide deeper, until the head was buried inside her, filling her. It was wonderful. She felt the heat and power of the man, and she thrust up, needing him deeper. Again, he looked carefully into her eyes, gauging her ability to accept more. When he determined that with Ben’s ministrations, and her own longing, he could continue, he sank further, until she felt him nestle against her womb.

“Yes, Quinn,” she wailed. “Nothing has ever felt this good.” Ben took his fingers away and she grabbed his wrist, trying to hold him, but he easily moved his fingers to his mouth and sucked them clean, savoring her essence and wetting the digits even further. Then he put them back to where she so desperately needed them and pressed and circled even harder, and that’s when Quinn started a slow pull out, followed by a faster thrust in, once again tapping softly against the mouth of her womb, causing her to spasm in delight. He continued, faster and faster.

“Harder and faster, both of you, harder and faster.” She was thrashing her head. She felt the slight flicker of childhood firework sparklers, and they were building to firecrackers popping off as she whimpered with excitement. Then she felt a roman candle going off, and finally she screamed as the deafening grand finale came and the night sky exploded into showers of color.

Author Interview

The idea of being an author has always been a something too out of reach. I focused on climbing the corporate ladder instead. When I got this job doing project management where I could telecommute….Well, why not take that time I would normally be in the car and see if I had what it takes to actually be a writer. After all, reading 500 books a year costs quite a pretty penny!!! LOL 😉

Out of all the books that I read, I love it when an author will give me a series. When a really good book ends, but then I realize I will have an opportunity to dip back into that world, I am SO happy. So that’s what made me decide to write a series. As to why I wanted to base my series in Fate Harbor, Washington, well I LOVE the Pacific Northwest. The people and landscape are so diverse and welcoming. I grew up there, and I’m always so happy to be welcomed home when I go for visits. The only two things I might not accurately portray in my books is just how many MFM relationships there are, and how often it DOESN’T rain. LOL (People, to be as green and pretty as it is, it rains….A LOT!)

I love them all. Claiming Kara has a lot of my family in it. I’m the oldest of five children, and we meddle in one another’s lives a lot. So it is definitely near and dear to my heart. Trusting Chance is nearest and dearest because it is the first book I have ever written. Part of the reason I wrote Trusting Chance was to show that you could build a family even if it isn’t through blood. That people care for one another, that they really can support and love one another. Also, I wanted to show that even if bad things happen in childhood, that you can heal and grow from it, and become a strong person because of it.

Erotica is sensuality. It is something that makes me squirm in my seat and get hot and bothered. It revs me up so that when I see my husband I’m ready to grab him and rip his clothes off. My readers often tell me the same thing. They definitely enjoy my stories and they relate to the characters. When they think about the characters, they agonize over the situations that they go through and in some cases readers have actually been moved to tears on their behalf. But when it comes to the sex scenes, many claim that that a good “hot flash” would provide them with blessed relief from the steam generated by my characters channeling their passions.

I used to read the old style romances. You remember—the ones where the sex scenes were done behind closed doors, and the reader was not privy to them. But to tell you the truth, I wasn’t satisfied with them. I’m a caring, empathetic person, so I wanted to know that the heroine was sexually satisfied. After all, she’d usually gone through hell and back to be with her lover. Was he worth it? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

As a writer, however, one of the things I want to do is show my readers how my characters could learn and grow to overcome personal obstacles and become better people. I wanted to show real life situations in which people solved their problems to claim real life rewards. Why wouldn’t I want to discuss how a woman could bring pleasure to a man performing oral sex? Why wouldn’t I want to I want to say it was healthy and right for a woman to expect a man to return the favor? Sex is a wonderful part of life and should be celebrated. I want to show that to women. That said,it also wouldn’t hurt if the men in our lives read these books.

Boxers or briefs? Well, I like the boxer briefs, but my husband goes commando, so I’ve found I like that best.

Tall, Blonde and Muscular or Taller, Dark and Handsome…..Hubby is number #2, so I need version #1 for a good menage….Hubby keeps saying no.

What’s your favorite sport? Love watching basketball, these days my favorite game to play is probably golf. Sometimes I graduate from putt putt to an actual course.

What’s your favorite swear word? “The Eff Word” it has many uses, it can be used as a noun, a pronoun, an adjective, a verb, an adverb, etc., etc. etc.

What’s your favorite food? Froot Loops, like the Eff Word it has many uses, it can be used as breakfast, lunch, dinner, an afternoon snack, a midnightsnack, etc. etc.

What was your worst vacation? A 9 day family road trip, five kids ages 5-14, over 100 degree heat, no air conditioning in the family station wagon. The highlight was visiting a copper mine in Utah.

What was your best job? My company sent me over to Brussels for almost a year to help set up Belgacom Yellow Pages. It was great!

What has been your best inspiration lately? Navy Seals from San Diego have actually commandeered the swimming pool at my community complex a couple of Saturdays, so I couldn’t swim my laps. I was initially pissed off. HOW STUPID WAS THAT?! I then sat down and enjoyed the show.

From my 3 books, one of my favorite excerpt is really one between Chance Reynolds and Sam Booth. So often the men have to help one another and depend on one another. Their friendship is critical to this kind of story.

Chance leaned back on the dock, admiring how clear the day was now that the clouds had disbursed. “Did you ever consider the possibility that you might have an inferiority complex? That somehow your parents fucked you over into believing you weren’t worthy of anything good? So whenever something bad happens, you blow it out of proportion and let it justify your underlying belief system?”

“Jesus, Chance, are you planning on putting out a shingle? I already have a shrink.” Sam took a long pull from his beer and reached for another.

“Nope. I just figure it’s time I said my piece, because this is important, and I want it to work. You and Josie fit because you both come from the same fucked-up childhoods. You can really relate to one another, and help one another. I fit, because I can lighten the mood. You both need me. Not to mention the fact that neither of us is going to let the other one have her to himself.”

“There is that. You try to take her away from me, and they’ll never find your body,” Sam said in a pretty serious tone that made Chance laugh.

“You could try, brother. You could try,” he said, still laughing.

Sam looked over at him, and realized it might not be as easy to take down Chance as he would like to think. “Yeah, yeah, I’ve thought about why I have a glass-half-empty outlook,” Sam admitted.

“No, you don’t have that at all. You always see the good in others. You see the good in a lot of different situations. But when it comes to yourself, you have a broken mirror. You, son, don’t think you are good, nor do you think you deserve anything good.” Chance paused, letting his words sink in. “Do you want Josie?”

“I’ve had Josie,” Sam said with a great deal of satisfaction.

“Do you want Josie for the long haul?” Chance asked. Sam took another swig from his beer, trying to picture his very long life without Josie in it.

“Yeah, I want her. But I don’t know how I can do it.”

Author Bio

caitlynI write the Fate Harbor series for Siren. Fate Harbor is based on the Pacific Northwest town where I grew up, and filled with the same kind of quirky, loving people I remember.

My books are filled with men and women who aren’t perfect. They have problems, issues, angst, but every single one of them are good people who are deserving of love, (and steamy ménage sex.)

On May 23rd 2014, USA Today Recommended “Protecting Olivia” in their Hot New Romance Books. “Protecting Olivia” is book number two in the Fate Harbor Series.
I hope you’ll take your time to explore the site, check out the books and excerpts and sign up for the newsletter. You can also send me comments. I would LOVE to hear whose story your think should be next.

“If opposites attract, then I am nothing. Because you, you are everything.”
There’s no easy road traveled to such an intense sentiment, one I never dreamt I’d feel….
But I also never planned on Cannon Blackwell climbing aboard my tour bus.

I have read all of SE Hall’s books and they are all amazing. I’m not just saying that because she’s a talented, wonderful, sassy, take no crap, loving, caring person and author. I truly mean it. The way she has with words that draws you into her characters is like no other. No one compares. I was a steadfast Sawyer fan through the entire Evolve series and I never swayed for one second. Cannon Blackwell made me sway. Do you know how hard that is to do? To lean away from Sawyer Beckett toward any other book boyfriend? I know some you you Elite do! Anyway, I think that in itself is a glowing review for an author. Telling them that one of their readers’ Top 10 book boyfriends of all time is going to lose their slot to their new leading man. Cannon Blackwell. Sigh. I literally sigh every time I say his name.
Cannon is stranded in the middle of nowhere with a duffle bag and his guitar, when he is approached by Liz, the lead singer of a band in desperate need for a new bass player. He’s instantly drawn to her and she to him. He agrees to join them after jumping though a few hoops which had me laughing out loud! The band consists of Lizzie’s two best friends Jarrett and Rhett and her brother Conner. Cannon becomes part of the family and is bewitched by his Siren, Lizzie. He has some baggage which Lizzie has a hard time getting over, and she has ghosts in her past that make her question everything. He’s sure of himself and what he wants. He’s sexy and talented which is what drew her in. But, he’s smooth and sincere and wears his heart on his sleeve. I haven’t wanted to be a leading female character as much as I wanted to be Lizzie. I wanted to hear Cannon say those things to me. Sing to me. He’s just amazing. Period. She thinks they are moving too fast, but he’s sure it’s fate. Can he convince her? Will she let go and finally be free?
Rhett is the sensitive, brooding drummer and Jarrett is the funny, mouthy guitarist. The secondary characters are almost as loved and Lizzie and Cannon. I loved their banter and their obvious love for one another. They have a bond that can’t be broken. I laughed, cried, smiled, laughed, cried some more. I sighed a lot. I hugged my kindle when it was over wanting more. More Cannon! Oh, did I mention that SE Hall loves to add her street team members to her book? Their names or something important to them. I got a shout out in this one. Who wants to go eat at Hildebrand’s Hickory House? ME, ME, ME!!Hello miracle. The glint of the sun reflecting off the guitar slung across his back is what first snags my attention, but the favors he’s doing that pair of Levi’s is what’s keeping it.He smiles; well, his mouth does some upturning, mind-fuckery type thing. Guys may be oblivious to, well, almost everything, but you can’t tell me they don’t know what the shirtless, barefoot thing does to a woman. They know. Sneaky bastards.I mentally scratch my pseudo-balls and raise my glass, sit straighter in my chair and click the cheers. “Bring it on, penis-packers!”“What you do to me, Lizzie, your song, your smile, a look…you draw me in and I’m captivated, willing to sell my soul to know more. I can’t wait to hear what you’ll say next, what you’ll wear each day, what will make you smile and laugh. I watch the way you love and take care of Conner, Rhett and the others and all I can do is envy them, try to figure out how to get your to pour all that Lizzie love over me. Then let me give it right back.” (see what I mean? Sigh)One jump and he catches me, holding me close as I wrap my legs around his waist and dig my trembling hands through his silky hair. I kiss him like I do in every dream I’ve ever has about us – untamed, hungry, and confident – tangling our tongues in a battle of want vs. fear, need vs. brave enough to try.“You were instantly, are now and will always be, my prettiest instinct.”

This is the First Novel I have read by SE Hall and I am going to be adding all of her books to my TBR! Her writing style is amazing and right up my alley. And I can’t wait to read more of her work. When Liz and her Band who include two of her best friends are in need of a new bassist she spots her miracle in the making sitting with just a duffel bag and his guitar while they are taking a break from the road. And when Cannon was dumped on the side of the road he had no idea that it would be the best day of his life so far….Elizabeth, aka Liz, Lizzie or Bethy along with many other names given during the book is amazing! She is Independent, Strong and always taking care of everyone around her. She is definitely a Mama Bear to her older brother Conner for reasons you will find out about. Like I said, she takes care of everyone sure she has her best friends Rhett and Jerrett along with her brother and Uncle but she was still missing something….The One. She is a hard nut to crack, she could be angry, bitchy and sassy. I love her, but she needed someone to find the real her and she never would have thought that the man she saw with just a duffel bag and a guitar could be that man.

Cannon had no idea he would be on a bus full of strangers just a few hours after being dumped on the side of the road. He and the band, well most of them got along instantly. He knew from the start that Lizzie was special. He wanted to get to know her better but he had to work on that wall of hers and he would not give up.

Cannon and Lizzie are amazing! I love the way Cannon handled Lizzy and her moods. Even with all of her witchiness he could get her back to the Lizzie he knew was inside. And they are steamy! She needed to let go of her anger about the past. I can seriously write a novella about this book! I laughed, I cried, I blushed and I laughed some more. I need humor in my books and this has it. The perfect amount and some great new sayings.

I highly recommend this book. I need to make room for Cannon Blackwell on my Top Boyfriend Lists. And I also love the rest of gang and hope to see them in more books. And on a side note: Best fight in a Book Ever!

My dry wit isn’t for everyone, almost no one, in fact, but he’s confirmed what I’ve suspected all along…I’m funny as fuck.

“You are definitely bitchy, in the most adorable, protective way possible. But if you call yourself mundane again I will spank your delectable little ass. Twice. Until a Tomorrow. Sleep Well, my bewitching siren.”

” I will never be able to pick a favorite part of you, each more flawless and beautiful than the last. You’re absolutely perfect, Lizzy. Without a doubt, the most exquisite woman in the world, inside and out.”

S.E. Hall Author Pic
S.E.Hall resides in Arkansas with her husband of 18 years and 4 beautiful daughters. When not in the stands watching her ladies play softball, she enjoys reading and writing. She’s also being clutch at Baggo, when it’s warm outside!

“I can’t let a stranger on the bus with Bubs. What if he’s a mass murderer?” What if he’s not as pretty on the inside as he is on the outside?
“Ah, Mama Bear, run him through all the tests. You’re careful. And he might say we’re crazy and tell us to fuck off. Let’s ask before we worry about it.”
Biding my time, I chew on the inside of my cheek and look back, confirming Conner’s still tossing the Frisbee happily, Rhett watching him. “You asking or am I?” I sigh, hopefully masking the foreign tingle of anticipation working its way up my battered spine.
“He’s hetero, I can tell from here. I say we send in,” he flicks a finger back and forth between my boobs, “the big guns.”
“Don’t lick your lips!” I shove him, mouth agape. “You’re like my brother. That’s illegal in at least forty states, and gross.”
“You didn’t think it was gross when—”
“Enough.” I slap my hand over his mouth hastily. “I’ll go, but you stay right here and watch, closely. He makes a move for a weapon, dial 911 as you run to rescue me.”
“On it.” He grins at me, full of victory, a hint of his earlier teasing still lingering in his expression.
Girding my loins, I think, do women have loins and can they be girded or is that only a guy thing? Summoning my courage, I move with slow, hesitant steps in the miraculous unknown’s direction, reminding myself with each one that it’s for the boys, the band, the overall goal of staying the hell out of Sutton. And it is, but I’m kidding myself if I don’t admit I wouldn’t be this anxious if I was walking up to an ugly man. Or even a kinda good-looking man. Shallow much, Liz? Nah, I have no control over biological response.
Almost there now, his head lifts and turns at my approach, connecting eyes as sable brown as thick molasses to my own. He was tummy-turning enough far away. Up close, he’s better than photoshopped, a clear-cut case for Guinness Genetics. His lips are full, much plumper than my own, and he has a strong nose and jawline, both very masculine, the latter covered in a dark scruff. His hair is the same rich chestnut as his eyes, not too short, but definitely not too long. “Just fucked” hair (isn’t that what they call it?) be damned. He’s got “just fucked her and she had to hold on” locks, unruly in the most intricate fashion. The black boots at the end of long, thick legs are scuffed, faded jeans worn, well, and the long sleeved black thermal he’s wearing? Oh, he wears it, or rather, every muscle in his torso holds it up flawlessly.
Bottom line—he’s easy to look at.
“Are you a deranged serial killer and/or rapist?”
I like to open subtly.
“No, are you?” His timbre is deep and gravely, sending my vagina subliminal messages. Something along the lines of “yup, you want it.” With a voice like that, I’m praying he isn’t a chain smoker. To fuzz this perfect picture with the stench of an ever-present cloud of smoke would be one helluva slap in the face of the Almighty creator.
“No,” I answer too defensively, this instant, highly unusual attraction frying my staple “too cool to care” attitude that, up until right now, I’d like to think I pull off fabulously. “You any good?” I lean and point to the instrument on his back, brows bowed in questioning antagonism.
“Define good,” he deadpans, head down as he pulls the guitar off his back and puts it back in its case.
“Not left-handed.” He shrugs as he straightens back up and captures my gaze.
He laughs, treating me to one seriously enlightening sound, accompanied by the sexiest blindingly white smile. “Then no, not even close to good.”
Damn, I should’ve gone with a mediocre guitarist! Now I’ve backed myself into a corner, Stranger Danger not giving me anything in the form of segue. Struggling, I shove my hands in my back pockets and rock nervously back and forth on my heels, forced to come up with another revealing yet seemingly aloof question.
“Why do you ask?” he rescues me.
“Our band.” I toss my head back toward the bus. “We need a bassist. And since you’re hitchhiking, I thought maybe—”
He drops down from his perch on the top edge of the bench and stands, well over six feet of sinister sex appeal stretching out before my eager eyes. “Do you know what a hitchhiker is?”
“What?” I shake my head to clear it and take a step back. “Yes, of course.”
“You sure about that?” He eats up the steps I’d retreated, placing his body close enough to mine that I can literally feel the battle of push and pull between us. “‘Cause where I come from, hitchhikers stand at the road, where you can see them. It increases their chances of actually landing a ride.” His left eyebrow curves up at one end and that same eye, I swear it, twinkles at me. “Seeing as how I’m sitting at the back of a desolate rest stop, I’m either the worst hitchhiker in history,” another step closer, “or you’re labeling me with the wrong tag.”

I check my phone for the tenth time. It’s almost 2 am, surely they’re asleep and I can sneak to my own bed. Sleeping with Conner isn’t as fun as you might think, unless you think being caged with a wild animal sounds like a party.
As quietly as possible, I slink out of the bed and through his door, pulling it closed; halfway there. Sending up a silent prayer I don’t meet any open, awake eyes, I turn, relieved at the lack of spectators, and scurry to my bed. After sharing my song tonight, I need some time to pass before I look them in the eyes—those lyrics, the tremor in my voice as I sang—I’m not ready for questions or commentary.
Of course I didn’t pull off the covert bed switch undetected. This bus—40 x 8 feet—might as well be a shoebox. I draw back the curtain, squinting my eyes against the dimness.
“Hey,” Cannon greets me with a whisper and grin from his bed, curtain also pulled open.
Giving him back the smile I can’t contain, I finger wave. Has he been waiting up for me? Was I secretly hoping he’d still be awake? Do I want to know either answer or what it says about me? What planet am I living on that this is now an issue?
“Here.” He scoots to the edge of his bunk and hands across…an earbud? Eyeing him curiously, I turn on my side, facing his way, and put it in my ear. “Shhh.” He puts a finger over his lips then winks and slips the other bud in his own ear, only breaking eye contact for a split second to tap the phone screen, then reconnecting in the muted light.
“Hello, Lizzie,” his voice sounds in my ear and as my eyes pop in surprise. He once again does the “shhh” thing, nodding to me to just listen. “I thought about playing you ‘You Are So Beautiful,’ but surely you already know that. This, you may not.”
There’s a brief pause, then music starts… It’s “Have a Little Faith in Me.”
I know I whimper aloud, but I force my eyes to stay on his no matter how badly I want to hide them and the building tears. Through the entire song, I stare and he stares back, mouthing the words every once in a while. With the closing notes, his voice returns.
“Not too corny, I hope. Just…think about it. Sweet dreams, Lizzie.”
Apparently picking up on the fact I’ve been rendered incapable of functioning, he reaches over and gently removes the earbud, taps the end of my nose with his fingertip, then closes my curtain for me.
I’ll have the corny with a side of corny please.
