Five guys. One bar. And a whole heap of sexy trouble…Liam Callahan is devastatingly handsome, infuriatingly aloof and… my new boss?
Put that at the top of the list of ‘Things I Wish I’d Known (Before I Was
Panting in His Arms During a Sizzling Midnight Make-out Session.)’

My bartending gig at Rascals was supposed to be a fresh start for me. Now I’m
juggling drink orders AND red-hot sexual tension – but I refuse to let Liam’s
smoldering stares throw me off my game…

Until one late night leads to another. And another. Liam has a reputation as Mr
Heartbreaker, but he’s revealing a whole new side of himself: funny, playful,
and most definitely NSFW. But this rascal has made a rule of never getting in
too deep, and despite the real connection between us, something’s holding him
back.

Can we find a way to put the past behind us and move on? Or will my new
beginning end in heartbreak before it’s even begun?

Find out in the hot new stand-alone romance from Katie McCoy!

Heartbreaker is the third book in the Rascals series. It can be read as standalone but I do recommend reading the previous books  either before or after this one. They are so much fun! I just love this group of bar owners and the women who tame them.
Juliet needs a fresh start. Liam needs to take the stick out of his ass. She has to adjust to her new life without dance. She wants to be spontaneous, eat carbs, and have fun past nine p.m. He has set his goals years ago. He doesn’t like surprises. Juliet is the ultimate surprise. One he didn’t see coming.
Liam has a type and Juliet definitely was not it but he wanted her. He didn’t want to want her but there was just something about her that made him going back for more. It started as a kiss. One that turned into one night then two. Until…he couldn’t stay away. She made him laugh. She made him think. She made him lose control. She scared him. He has never felt this way toward a woman but she was not who he was looking for in a partner. Can he let go of control and take a risk? A risk on her. A risk on himself. A risk for them or will he keep looking for Miss Perfect on Paper?
I love Liam! I might even have a girl crush on Juliet. I loved seeing all the sides of him with her. He just has this sexiness to him with his suit and tie. And his hotness in his workout gear. But my favorite was when he laughed. Juliet did that to him. She was infectious. The way she was letting go of his own routine type of life. It was so fun!
Overall…it was the perfect addition to the series! It’s funny, smart, emotional, and sexy. The characters are lovable. The friendships are amazing. The writing is addicting. I can’t wait for the next book. Sawyer is going to be knocked on his ass.
Quotes:
“It was a last-minute request.” I put the pie on the counter and turned to face him.
“A request?” he asked, putting his hands on the counter, on either side of my hips. “I was pretty sure that was a demand.”
“Is everyone pairing up?” one of the guys—the one I assumed was Sawyer—asked.
“You can be Dante’s date,” Liam teased.
“I don’t put out,” Dante replied dryly.
My world had become bigger, just because she’d walked into it. And that scared me.

Wow!! I don’t even know where to start with this review. I have started over more than a few times already. Ok, I am going to make this short.
Hannah was a model student. A best friend. A exceptional daughter. Someone who dreamed of a future. One to mold students as a teacher. She didn’t party. She was even called a nerd. And all it took was six months for her to hit rock bottom. As an addict. Meth was her salvation. Her enemy. Her everything. There were only two things she thought about about the moment she had her first hit. One, how she was going to get her next. And two, the man who supposedly loved her. That was her new life. The one that she thought was a better one. That is what ice does to someone. It brings out the delusions. It makes you chase the next high. No matter who or what gets in the way.
That is all I can really say about Hannah’s journey. This is not a romance. It does not involve hearts and flowers. It involves pipes and hotels. It’s not an easy read. I read the warnings. I had to read it anyway. I have not been an addict myself but I have had family and friends go through some of the same experiences. It’s so hard to witness. Even harder to get them to want to help themselves.
Overall…I love that Margaret writes books that need to be written. The stories need to be told. They are real. They are important. I have two daughters and you know what I did today? I talked to them about drugs and alcohol. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, drugs do not discriminate. They are everywhere. They can grab and hold on to anyone. Like I said, I have seen it. I had my own experiences with a few drugs in my high school days. It was over twenty years ago when something bad happened to myself and I still will not drink wine because of it. It stays with you. Forever.
P.S. I am in love with this cover.
Quotes:
“I can’t leave you alone. You’re mine,” he says.
“What? I’m not yours, I’m not anyone’s. I’m my own person.”
He’s making my body sing, sparking alive as a hazardous fire rips through me, risking my sanity and safety.
“For you, I’d walk to the end of the earth, and still have the strength to kill anyone who’d hurt you. But when you’re hurting yourself, that breaks not only my heart, but my soul.”

My last three books have been YA and I’m completely in love with the genre. I love being able to communicate with people through my words and stories.
My writing genres all differ, but the one thing I keep consistent is my heroines. All my female lead characters are strong, gutsy and not the ‘perfect’ woman. Cover Reveal – Save the Date, Carrie Aarons

June 13, 2018 By

Title: Save the Date
Author: Carrie Aarons
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Cover Design: Sarah Hansen, Okay Creations
Release Date: June 24, 2018
Blurb
You know that pact you make with your childhood best
friend of the opposite sex? The one where, if you’re both still single, lonely
and hopeless at thirty, you’ll marry each other?
This is the story about what happens when you hit the big three-oh and have to
make good on that pinky promise.

Personally, I think love, romance and all of that nonsense is a crock of, well,
you know. And Reese Collins, the boy who used to put worms in my hair at
backyard barbecues, knows that better than anyone.

But when he moves to the same city I’ve happily, and singly, inhabited for
years, memories of oaths past resurface. Reese is like a dog with a bone; a
really hot dog and that bone just happens to be me.

He won’t stop hounding me, and the crazy thing is, my frigid, traitorous heart
is starting to cave. For my best friend.

It seems so far off, when you’re a kid playing Monopoly in your treehouse. But
when that clock strikes midnight on your thirtieth birthday, and you’re
standing alone in front of a grocery store-bought cupcake, a childhood deal to
walk down the aisle doesn’t seem so silly anymore.

with Southern sass and steamy scenes that will have you laughing out loud and
fanning yourself. Pour the sweet tea and get ready…
“The best way to get over your sh**ty ex-fiancé is to get under a shiny new stud…”
As soon as Mr. Tall, Blond, and Handsome walks into that bar, I know he’s the hook-up I

A few stolen kisses in a dark hallway, and I’m pretty sure we’re headed for a home
run—until he disappears without a trace.
Whatever.
Men are all snakes in the grass, and I don’t need a new one anyway.
I resolve to forget about his perfect lips (and chest of steel) and instead focus on
turning my Granny’s old beach house into a profitable B&B.
What I don’t expect is for him to show up the next day in my kitchen!
You see, my sexy mystery man is none other than Jax Roland, the drop-dead gorgeous home
improvement star of The Right Stud, and
he’s got an offer I can’t refuse.
With a suitcase in one hand and a hammer in the other, he wants to move in and
renovate my old house while he films his new show.
But my roommate has secrets, and they threaten to rip our blossoming friendship—and
possible love—apart.

The Right Stud is a sexy, sweet, and funny standalone by Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise. I have read Ilsa’s books in the past but this is the first time I have read anything by Tia but I am sure it won’t be my last. I know it can’t be easy to write together but from what I read, I think they had a fabulous time writing it. I know I did reading it.
Ashton has had a rough year. First she lost her granny then she was betrayed by her fiancé. The lying cheating bastard. On the night before her luck could change, she goes out looking for a hook-up. It’s not her style but it’s time to move on. She thought she found the perfect one night stand until he doesn’t come back after a scorching hot kiss. She is not surprised…men are assholes. She doesn’t expect to see him again. That is until the next morning when he appears in her kitchen.
Jax was back home to spend time with his sister and her kids while answering a email about a possible home renovation for his YouTube channel. What he didn’t expect was to be standing in front of her. The beautiful woman he kissed last night. The one he wanted to do so much more to. The one who needs his help to bring her B&B back to life. He wasn’t so sure that he could make it happen but now he is determined to show her that he isn’t the asshole she seems to think he is. Will he succeed or fail to woo her with his hammer, sexy smirk, and sense of humor?
I thought this story was fucking hilarious! It is also sexy, sweet, and so much fun. Between the couple, Mrs. C. and the animals, I was dying. I loved every second of it. Ashton is strong, determined, beautiful inside and out, and doesn’t mess around. Jax is funny, just the right amount of cocky, and unexpected. Together, their banter is awesome. Their chemistry is sexy. They made me laugh, swoon, and get all hot and bothered. Sometimes all at the same time.
Overall…it kicked ass. I read it in one sitting and I already miss them. I am looking forward to more books by this duo. I just picked up The Last Guy which is free right now. So go one-click that baby.
Quotes:
He turns around, and fuck a duck, his ass is even better naked. Of course it is! It’s tight and square, and it has those perfect indentions on each side. I want to bite that set of buns.
“You’re a true glutton for punishment… or you have a high tolerance for crazy.”
“Ah, me so horny!” he squawks and flies off to roost on the curtain rod above my window. I send him a glare.
“Watch your language, buddy.”
“Fuck off!” he cries.

The Right Stud is the newest rom-com by the fabulous duo of Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise. I have read a lot of Ilsa’s books, but this is my first Tia Louise and I absolutely loved it. These ladies are hilarious, talented and I can tell they had fun writing this sweet and sexy romance. The Right Stud, the name of the popular home improvement show, and quite frankly, the man who stars in it, Jax Roland. It’s lust at first sight for Jax and Ashton. Strangers who share a hot as hell kiss in a dark hallway which whispers promises of what’s to come. But then he’s gone. Only to show up at her house as the man she contacted to help her renovate her grandma’s house. What are the odds? He’s perfect for this job if she can’t keep her eyes, hands and mouth of his sexy as sin…everything. Jax wants to help Ashton fix her house. He thinks they can do it and it can secure a network show for him. He needs this win. He also needs Ashton. He’s never felt this way about a woman before. Yes, he physically wants her, but he also wants to talk with her, walk with her. Fix this house with her. The camera loves her and she’s just sweet, sexy and perfect for him. But he’s keeping a secret and she’s not going to like it. Can Jax save the day and be her hero like he so desperately needs to be? Or will his lie of omission break Ashton’s heart and her spirit? I loved this story! It’s sexy, fun, sweet, steamy, entertaining and funny! I laughed a lot! Teared up and had to fan myself. I wanted a blueberry muffin and a glass of Prosecco while I was reading. Jax is a good man who went after what he wanted and I loved how he put himself out there. He wasn’t taking no for an answer. Ashton is sexy and sweet. She’s confident and isn’t going to let herself be hurt again. She is woman, hear her roar! The secondary characters are fantastic and the beach setting is perfection!

Normally I wouldn’t take as much care cooking all my best, inherited recipes, but knowing Jax is going to sink his teeth into one of my flaky biscuits, well, it kinda makes me hot.

From the tips of her pretty, bare feet to the ends of her silky hair, she’s like a drug to me.

Fuck a duck.

What have I done? You boned the help, you hillbilly. You saw a tight ass in the ocean, and it was all you thought about all day.

God had definitely been on his A-game when he created Jax Roland.

Excerpt

MADDIE

It strikes
me suddenly that I’m not the only one who will notice how fucking good Tyler
looks now that he’s all clean-shaven and you can really see that ridiculously
fortunate bone structure he has. And I’m a little embarrassed about the fact
that I just got all possessive and shit. I’m about to say something to that
effect, either make a joke or play it off, but before I can, Tyler grabs me
around the waist, pulls me to him and whispers, “That was so fucking hot,” just
as the doors to another elevator pop open.
He walks me
backwards into the car and frantically pushes the “door close” button before
anyone else can step in. He’s got me pressed against the mirrored glass and his
hands are between my denim-covered thighs, cupping my pussy. He kisses my neck
and the feel of his lips, without any rough hair to brush and scratch against
mine, feels so good that I can barely stand it. I didn’t realize his kiss was
so soft. The skin of his mouth feels new. Like, I was just starting to get
accustomed to the way his kisses felt, and suddenly it’s a whole new
experience. New, but familiar. The same way it was when I met him.
It’s how
this whole moment feels. Back in the Mandarin where we were on Halloween when
we found out who we are. A concept which, I realize in this moment, might be
true in more ways than one. It’s been barely two months since we turned each
other’s lives upside down. Except that’s not quite fair. Or accurate. Our lives
were already upside down. We’ve turned them back right side up. Yeah, we
disrupted each other’s worlds, but we did so in the most magnificent way. And
it’s starting to feel like that disruption is going to result in a life that
actually feels… settled.
I realize
that life with Tyler Morgan will never be boring. That much seems incredibly
evident. But life is unpredictable no matter what we do to try to put rules in
place to keep it from feeling that way. At least with Tyler the
unpredictability doesn’t seem scary. With him, as much as is possible, the
unpredictability feels safe.

TYLER

Just like
the beard was keeping me at a distance from the people I would see walking down
the street, it was keeping me at a distance from her when we were alone
together. It was an unrealized blockade impeding my ability to be as close to
her as I want to be. There is no such impediment now, and I am engulfing myself
inside her.
The feel of
my cheeks nuzzled in between hers makes this moment seem so…sweet. It’s nice.
I don’t know how else to describe it. It’s just kind of…pure. That’s how I
feel. That’s what I think.
I also feel
like one good rimming deserves another.
So, moving
my head in tiny circles around her ass, just like she did to me a couple of
days ago, I get off on the whining noises she makes, and I work two fingers
inside her pussy to help everybody along. With my other hand I begin fisting my
cock. I’m trying to go slowly so that I don’t fucking come right here all over
the Mandarin’s nice carpet. I already burned down one of their condos, I don’t
want to fuck up one of their suites too. New-look Tyler is considerate like
that. But as slowly as I’m trying to
go, she’s making it tough because of the way she’s rotating her ass and hips
around.
And
suddenly, I don’t want to be behind her. I mean, I love the view from here and
I love the way she tastes, but I want
to see her. I want to look at her face and have her look at mine. Yeah. I want
her to look at me. I want her to see me.
So I pull away,
flop down on my back on the bed beside her, and summon to her with my index
finger to come over. She does, smiling as she mounts me. She takes my two
fingers that were just inside her and puts them in her mouth. And I remember
the first time I saw her do that. I told her, “You’re going to fucking kill
me.” But she didn’t. She didn’t. It was exactly the opposite. She fucking saved
me. And so now, with her astride me, I sit up, take her face in my hands, look
her square in the eyes, and tell her, “I fucking love you.”
She closes
her own eyes with a shy smile and whispers, “I fucking love you.”

Author: Katie McCoy
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 30, 2018

Blurb

My new neighbor is irresistible, and he’s keeping me up ALL
night long…

Emerson Hayes is sexy, arrogant, and has abs that would put
a Hemsworth to shame. He’s also opening a bar with his buddies right below my
apartment. Goodbye, peace and quiet, hello sleepless nights fantasizing about
my hot new landlord…

But when my stuffy workplace makes it clear I need a
plus-one for our events, I have the perfect way to even the score. Emerson is
A+ arm-candy… as long as I can resist taking a bite. Our arrangement is
supposed to be just for show, but Emerson is like that fifth shot of tequila:
tempting, intoxicating, and liable to leave me flat on my back with my panties
around my ankles, begging for more.

Maybe I should stay for just one more round…

Rascal is the first book in the Rascals series. Five hot guys. One bar. All with different personalities. Yeah, I couldn’t pass this series up! I have real all of Katie’s books so I knew I was in for a sexy and fun ride.
It all started when her Aunt came to town…
After the hottest kiss of her life, Alex walks away. No last names. No numbers. No personal information. She didn’t think she would ever see her sexy mystery man until she makes a noise complaint to her new downstairs neighbors. The ones doing construction for their new bar. She isn’t happy about that news. She picked this studio for the quiet. Now, she will get anything but. Then again, she now knows who her mystery man is. Emerson. Manager/Co-owner of Rascals.
Emerson doesn’t have time for distractions. Neither does Alex. They both have something to prove with hard work in their careers. They both have ambitions. Passions. Long hours. They are also both so fucking tempting. You can feel the sexual tension when they are in the room. Maybe they don’t have time for dating but that doesn’t mean they can’t loosen up once In while, right?
Aw! These two. I fell for Emerson the moment he gave up his snacks. And Alex, well, she is a hard working independent woman that can be a badass when she wants to be so she won me over. We also have the love of ice cream in common so yeah. But really, they get each other. But, will all the work get in their way? Being a bar manager and co-owner means long hours. And Alex is trying to move up in the law world which is stressful and around the clock.
Overall…I loved it. The characters are strong and well-developed. The friendships are even stronger. The sexiness is delicious. The banter is filled with laughter, flirt, and love. It has the perfect blend of it all. I can’t wait for the next book!
Quotes:
“This is my first time, too.” The suggestive words were out of my mouth before I even realized what I was saying.
“I’ll be gentle,” he teased, and I was close enough to see the corners of his eyes crinkle.
“I might go use the powder room.” I glanced around. “Do you have a map that could get me there?”
“Huh,” Sawyer observed. “I guess the fish are around. Maybe they were just allergic to your bullshit excuses.”

TYLER

I roll our
interlaced fingers over so that I can see the back of her hand. It’s strong,
but delicate. Long fingers and white skin. Veins that tense with the clench of
her grip. Freckles. Just a few light, faint, perfect freckles.
I have the
same thought I had the other day. That I want to learn her. Her body. Every
millimeter of her. I want it burned into my brain. I want to imprint her into
my memory before she goes. I want to study her. I want to have a PhD in Maddie
Clayton.
I let go of
her hand and stand up, turn to face her and then kneel down.
“What are
you doing?” she asks.
I don’t say
anything. She’s not wearing shoes, so I start tugging at the toes of her socks
and she giggles as I work them off her legs and then hold her precious feet in
my hands, examining them. I stroke the bones that run along the top, ending at
the tips of her toes, and I kiss each toe one by one.
I turn them
over to inspect the scar I found the other day, and I give it a kiss. Then I
spread her legs and slide in between them, popping my head up to give her a
kiss on the lips, before I unbutton her jeans and draw down the zipper. She
leans back, propping herself on her elbows, and shimmies her hips as I pull her
pants down. They’re so tight on her, so fitted, that they draw her underwear
along with them as I pull, and then the pants are off her body and on the
floor, and her bare calves, and knees, and thighs, and pussy are there for me
to explore.
Still
leaning back on her elbows, she tilts her head to the side, presses her lips
together in a tight smile, and raises her eyebrows at me.
I lift one
of her legs and place my face right next to it. Like an archaeologist exploring
the contours of a priceless, ancient artifact.
Her smell.
Her smell will be the thing that I know I will hold onto most. It’s always been
that way for me. Smell is the most potent sense I have when it comes to
triggering memories. When I smell cinnamon, I remember my mom. Because she was
baking when she collapsed that last time after chemo. And so that’s the smell I
choose to associate with my final memory of her, as opposed to the antiseptic
smell of the hospital. Because that wasn’t her anymore anyway. Mom stayed in
the kitchen. Only the shell of her stuck around for a couple weeks more in the
hospital bed.
Anyway.
Right now,
Maddie smells like freshly cut grass. She’s been packing and getting ready to
leave all day, and it’s been weirdly warm of late, so she’s a little sweaty.
And that smell—that pungent, dense, round smell of sweat on her skin that fills
my nostrils—reminds me of summer. Which I love. Because I suppose that means
that for the rest of my life, there’ll be an entire season where every day all
I’ll be able to think about is her. Even though I don’t imagine needing a lot
of prompts to steer my thoughts in her direction.
As I stroke
my fingers along her leg, kissing as I go, and drinking in her scent with every
breath, she drops down from her elbows, letting herself lie flat on her back,
her legs dangling off the side of the bed. She traces her fingers up and down
the line of her stomach, pushing her t-shirt up to the curve of her breasts as
I continue my survey of her flesh.
I’m
discovering things. Things that no one else on earth besides me will know.
Her right
calf appears just infinitesimally stronger than her left. Her left knee is the
teeniest bit knobbier than her right. And when I kiss her behind either of her
knees, she shudders through her stomach, causing her toes to crinkle.
As I pass
the bend in her knee, I draw my nose along the inside of her thigh. She
wriggles a teeny bit as my beard moves along her soft skin. And then my mouth
is right at the brink of her entrance. I take my thumb and run it along the
pink folds and she lets out a “mmmmm.” I tilt my head, studying my fingers as
they massage her tender skin, and take note of what sound each gesture evokes
from her.
Kissing
tenderly on her opening causes her to growl from somewhere deep inside her
throat. So I do. I kiss, and I let my warm breath signal my presence, but I
don’t want to penetrate her. Not this way. If she wants me to be inside her, I
will happily oblige, but for now I just want to be here with her and hold her
close.
And I will.
And I will
hold her close in my thoughts every second that she’s gone.
But more
importantly…
I will hold
her in my heart.

MADDIE

Some people
search their whole life looking for that one place they belong. For that one
person who gets them. Who brings them into their world, lets them fall easily
into the pull of their gravity, and lets them just… be. Just exist. Quietly.
Naturally. Freely. This is Tyler for me. The center of my universe. The man
around whom I now orbit.
Not like a
satellite, either. But like… like two things meant to be one. Like long ago
something crashed into us, broke us into little pieces, and left us adrift.
Floating in directionless space. Spinning wildly with no tether. And now we’ve
been pulled back together. And we circle each other, still spinning, but with
the purpose of joining. Of becoming one thing again. Not because of tragedy,
the way I’d imagined when I sent that letter. It’s not a lifeline of salvation
connecting us now, but some force of nature we can’t explain, or control, or
bend to our will. Some law of the universe that dictates the fate of things.
We are
connected by something more powerful than shared sorrow. And every moment we’ve
spent apart has been valuable. Necessary. Critical.
His mouth
between my legs feels wonderful. I could close my eyes and enjoy it. Let myself
reach the heights of pleasure.
But alone?
No. I’m
done doing things alone. We’re connected now. And everything we do will be
together.
So I
whisper, “Tyler,” as I caress his head. Run my fingers through his hair. Touch
his shoulders. Slide my fingertips up and down the hills and valleys of his
muscular arms.
He looks up
at me, his eyes smiling even though they’re half closed, even though his mouth
is still working. His tongue still flicking against my pussy.
“Come up
here,” I say. “And kiss my mouth.”
Now he
smiles with his whole face. His hands plant on either side of my hips and he
draws himself up to standing. He lifts his t-shirt over his head and undoes his
jeans, letting them fall to the floor, and his nakedness reminds me that he has
lived every single day of his time on this earth.
He leans
onto the bed and eases forward. My legs open wider for him, welcome him between
them as his cock—hard, and long, and ready—rests against my clit, making me
want him.
If we
stopped right now, if he just rested his chest on top of my breasts, became
nothing more than heavy weight as he closed his eyes, relaxed, and fell asleep…
I’d be content, happy, and satisfied.
And not
because there’d be more chances to do this later. But because it’s him I want. Not the sex.
He leans
down, his hands on either side of my head now. Bending the mattress the way
spacetime bends around a sun. And when his lips reach mine, my eyes are closed.
And I fall
again.
I fall far,
and long, and easily. The same way I drifted towards him. And as I drift,
weightless, we kiss. But I’m still connected to him. Always next to him.
Because this is what it feels like to fall into
someone, not away.
This is not
me slipping down the mountain.
This is not
me losing my footing.
This is me
finding myself. In him. In us.
So when I
reach my hand between my legs and place him right where he needs to be, he
enters me. And all those broken, spinning pieces come together to once again
create the thing we were always meant to become.
Our bodies
move together. Perfectly synchronized. Like the dance of stars in space. His
body is hot, and my body is hot, and the heat we create between us doesn’t burn
like fire but rearranges us. Like the molecules of two metals mixing to form
the strongest sword made of the very best steel.
Our
lovemaking is slow. And perfect.
We reach
the heights of pleasure together. As one. And it’s the kind of climax that only
happens once in a lifetime. The kind of release that means more than the way it
makes you feel. It tells you who you are, and who you’re with, and exactly
where you fit in the grand scheme of things.
He says, “I
love you, Madison.”
And I say
it back. “I love you, Tyler.”
We mold
ourselves into each other as we relax and grow sleepy. Our bodies back
together. His arms around me. My back pressed against his chest.
Our hearts
beating. Keeping time.
Becoming
what we were always meant to be.
