Sandra's Review

Rebel Heart is the second book in the Rush duet by one of my favorite duets! I love Vi Keeland’s and Penelope Ward’s books individually but together? It’s fucking magical. They give me all the feels and more. I am going to make this short and sweet so I don’t spoil anything. I will say that if you haven’t read Rebel Heir…do that now. This is not a standalone. At all.
Rebel Heart starts exactly where Rebel Heir ended. In an oh, fuck moment. And in that moment, Gia knew her life along with Rush’s was going to be a lot more complicated. It was time to meet a challenge of a lifetime. Will their love be enough to get them through it or will it shatter the love that they felt?
Yeah. I can’t get too much into it. I will say that their story is full of angst, love, hurt, questioning, and emotions. I feel for both of them. I felt like I was right there wanting to give them hugs. It’s not an easy ride for them in the  challenging, complicated, and soul-searching.
Overall…I was invested from the very first sentence until the very last. I cried. I laughed. I got angry. I felt sad. I felt it all. This is one rollercoaster ride of emotions you do not want to miss. The characters are stronger than they think. More beautiful than ever. And I fell in love with them all over again.
P.S I ❤️ Tony!
Quotes:
“You stealing my moves, Mirabelli? Isn’t that copyright infringement?”
“Nope. You gave them to me. They’re my moves now.” She winked.
This shit was better than a Jerry Springer episode.
“You and your daughter have a sick sense of humor sometimes.”

Rebel Heart is the conclusion to the Rush Series Duet. Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward are one of my favorite writing duos! I love everything they write alone, but their co-written books are some of my favorites! Rebel Heart picks up where Rebel Heir left off. Rush and Gia are happy, in love and now facing a bigger obstacle than they ever thought possible. History is trying to repeat itself as these two navigate their new relationship. Loving each other is not the issue, trusting each other is. Rush has a past of heartbreak and family hate that he’s still struggling with. Gia has a solid relationship with her amazing father, but no other family. Rush and Gia have come this far. Now they have to decide if love can truly conquer all. Can their heat and passion for each other solidify their forever? I loved this story. So. Much. Rush and Gia are fabulous characters with heart, love, humor and depth. I enjoyed going on their journey with them even though I wanted to bite off all my nails! I laughed, cried, got mad, laughed more and cheered at the end. It was the perfect mix of emotions and I loved every word.

How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:

Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.

Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.

How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:

Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Check. Check. Check.

I should add—especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss.

Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.

Especially when he’s mean to you.

Or so I thought.

Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.

That was sort of how it all started with Rush.

And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.

I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.

As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting—and complicated.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Sandra's Review

Melt for You is the second book in the Slow Burn series By J.T Geissinger. I loved the first book, Burn for You but I fell even harder for this one! It’s definitely a slow burn and I loved every minute of it.
Joellen was in love with her boss. The CEO. She has been in love with the perfectly styled and sophisticated man for the last ten years. The problem? Well, there are a few but just one is that he doesn’t even know that she exists. Yeah, maybe a few hellos, here and there but nothing more until she gets a new neighbor across the hall. A mountain of a man named Cameron McGregor. A cocky Scottish Rugby player who listens to very loud rap music and seems to enjoy having sex against the door, and eating her pies.
Joellen might want to slam her door in Cameron’s face every day of the week but he makes good points. He knows what she needs to do to get her pretty boy, Michael. He agrees to help even though he doesn’t think he is worth her time. She doesn’t see what he sees. A beautiful woman who shouldn’t change a thing. She is perfect the way she is and if someone says any different then they are fools. But, if Michael is who makes her happy then he will do what he can for her to get him. Even if it is a mistake. You can’t help, who you fall in love with.
Cameron and Joellen’s relationship is fucking hilarious, flirty, hot, and beautiful. Their relationship complicated. From the start it was something fierce. Cameron surprises Joellen at every turn. He is more than just a hot famous rugby star. So much more. I fell for him hard and fast. He is so fucking funny, smart, and sweet. And one big flirt with a cocky side that will make you laugh. So bloody hard. Now for Joelle, I wanted to slap the sense into her few times. I also wanted to hug her. She is witty, beautiful, sassy, and sexy without knowing it. Together, their banter is fucking awesome. It will make you laugh, swoon, and blush.
Overall…it was one of my favorite books of the year! It wasn’t just about love. It was about believing in yourself. Loving yourself. Not giving a fuck about what others think. You do what makes you happy. You don’t need to change for anyone. It’s a beautiful story with an amazing message.
P.S That accent though…
Quotes:
“Tear yourself down in front of me again, woman, and I’ll take you over my knee and make you wish you hadn’t.”
“When it comes to the body, I know what I’m doin’, lass. Gimme a chance to show you what I mean. I promise you’ll be satisfied.”
“I can’t believe you voluntarily do this every day. For free. Not at gunpoint.”
Cam lifts the waistband of his hoodie, exposing acres of rippling abdominal muscles. “All for a good cause.” I wipe the sweat from my brow with the back of my hand.
“Do you hold yourself tightly in bed at night while whispering sweet nothings into your own ear?”

“Remember to breathe,” he whispers.

“Just kiss me already,” I whisper back, surprised by how much it sounds like a plea.

“Your eyes are still open.”

I immediately shut them.

His soft laugh sends a thrill up my spine. “If only you were that obedient all the time, lass.” He lightly nips my lower lip, a dark, delicious little promise.

My hands. What do I do with my hands? They’re flattened against his chest again, but that seems lame, so I slide them up around his neck…and discover his hair. Good lord. Thick, glossy strands of hair slide like silk between my fingers. It’s longer than any of the men’s at the office, much longer than Michael’s, past the collar of his shirt, dark and waving, exquisitely soft.

As his tongue slowly begins to probe my mouth, I tug on all that gorgeous hair, forgetting I’m not supposed to be enjoying this.

I arch against him, softening, expanding, breathing deeply through my nose as the kiss deepens and begins to burn. I wasn’t kidding when I said he was experienced. He knows exactly what to do, how to get my blood sizzling and my heart hammering and all the pornographic images of him nude and splayed out like the best Christmas gift I’ve ever received pulsing like neon signs inside my head.

My nipples tighten. There’s a new heaviness between my legs, but it’s not him, it’s me, flushed and aching, every pull of his lips sending a spike of heat to that hollow space inside me that I’m becoming acutely aware of, its muted little howls of need.

I break away to check in before I lose myself completely and choke him with my prehensile tongue. “How’m I doing?” I mumble, flushed and out of breath.

His eyes drift open. Hot and dark, they pin me in place. “Jury’s still out,” he says, his voice thick. “Need more evidence.”

His mouth. I will drown in the pleasure of his mouth. I’ll die on this sofa and Mrs. Dinwiddle will find my body, fingers and toes chewed on by the poor starving cat.

The kiss grows decadent. Sinful. I moan, a desperate sound rising from the back of my throat. It has an interesting effect on Cam.

His entire body goes stiff.

He takes my head in both hands, breaks the kiss, and turns his face away. He breathes raggedly for a few moments, his nostrils flared and his jaw like granite. With his fingers pressed into my scalp, he says roughly, “You can’t make noises like that.”

Oh God. I sound like a warthog. A donkey. A trained pig, snuffling through the underbrush in search of truffles. “Okay.”

The humiliation in my voice makes his eyes slash to mine. “It’s not bad. It’s just…distracting.”

Distracting?

He slightly shifts his weight, and things are clarified.

I bite my lip so hard I might have drawn blood. My heart is a hummingbird beating frantically against a cage. I whisper, “You said you wouldn’t get aroused.”

He looks at my mouth like a warlord looking over a kingdom he’s just seized. “I lied.”

A kiss again, dangerous, like standing at the edge of a cliff and looking over, shifting dirt and rocks tumbling beneath your feet. My fingers twist in his hair. His hands move my head, left or right, however he wants it, a throbbing pulse like drumbeats in my ears. I’m so turned on I feel frantic, unstable, like I might break out of my own skin.

Caterpillar becoming butterfly. Chrysalis shed, wings outstretched, wind beneath my belly. Caught on an updraft. Beating, beating, flying free.

He breaks the kiss, suddenly, shatteringly, the separation like breaking glass. Dizzy, I whimper at the loss of his mouth.

“Fuck. Joellen. Fuck.”

He’s panting, his voice a desperate rasp. He radiates heat like a furnace. Even his hands on my head are hot, burning right through my skull.

With his scent in my nose and his heat wrapped around me and his heart pounding against mine, I’m somewhere else. I’m someone else. A gypsy, casting spells. A sloe-eyed singer in a smoky jazz club. A femme fatale in a film noir, all knowing smiles and long legs and a throaty voice with an edge like a purr.

“Don’t stop,” I say in my new voice. “You taste so good.”

He stares right at me, his eyes intensely aglow. Tiger eyes. Wolf eyes. The eyes of a predator about to pounce on his meal.

He growls, “You like the way I taste?”

There’s a challenge in the question. Other than his ragged breathing, he’s so still, every muscle tensed.

What’s happening?

I come back to myself abruptly, all at once aware of how far this little experiment has gone, how dangerously close it is to the point of no return, and the cat up on the kitchen table eating the remains of Cam’s dinner from his plate.

Oh shit. My face floods with heat.

I’m not a gypsy. I’m not a femme fatale. I’m an awkward, lonely woman sitting on the lap of the most famous athlete on the planet, making an utter fool of myself.

1.Get over my best friend’s brother.

2.Remember that I’m over him.

3.Prove I can date other people.

It should be easy.

It’s not.

Setting up a dating website with the guy I’ve been in love with since I was five wasn’t my smartest idea.

Especially since he’s my best friend’s brother—thankfully, she’s okay with the fact I’m pulling a Sandy and I’m hopelessly devoted to him.

Which is why it’s time to get over him.

So I do something crazy and ask Dominic Austin to find me a date. He does—if I find him one, too.

Since we own Stupid Cupid, it should be easy, right? And it is.

My date is perfect. His date is perfect. Everything is perfect.

Until he kisses me…

Three dates.

One kiss.

And a big-ass mess…

Sandra's Review

The Dating Experiment is the second book in the The Experiment series by the hilarious, Emma Hart. You can read it as a standalone but I do recommend reading the the previous books to get the full effect. I first met Chloe in The Upside of Being Single, and I have been waiting for her and Dom’s story ever since. It was fucking worth the wait.
Chloe has been in love with her best friend’s older but less mature brother, Dom, since she learned how to spell the word love. That’s twenty-two years of watching him with other women. The last five years working side by side with him in the office at Stupid Cupid, their dating site. It has been torture but she is finally determined to get over him. That is why she asks him to match her, only she didn’t expect him to want her to match him. Plot twist. No, that’s not the biggest one. That one comes later when the asshole kisses her.
Chloe has dreamed about Dom’s kisses forever! Now, it just fucking confuses the shit out of her. Why would he do that? Did he just want to shut her up? They fight daily. It’s their thing. But, not once has he gone that far to make her speechless. She doesn’t know what to do. She was trying to get over him after all these years of wanted to get under him. Now what?
Dom and Chloe’s relationship is complicated. They fight. They protect. They fight some more. But it’s the little things they don’t notice that keep them going without knowing it. They drive each other insane but never once have they truly hated one another. It’s just their way. Fighting like cats and dogs. But, don’t worry, they wouldn’t kill each other. They need life insurance policies in place first. Lol.
Anyway, I love their story. It’s not about all roses and butterflies. It’s more pizza and donuts. I thought the fighting made it more real. It’s frustrating at times but it’s them! That’s how they work. They make me want to scream at them but at the same time I am laughing so hard. And other times, I get all hot and bothered with it. It’s a great combo, really.
Overall…it’s a fast read that will keep you swiping the pages. It’s hilarious, sweet, and sexy. I just love them and their friends.
P.S. You will want to watch Friends when you are done. I know I do!
Quotes:
There was a fire in her. A wildfire. The kind of wildfire that would take forever and a day to put out.
And I wanted to stoke it.
“I’m the oldest. And, technically, I just kind of assumed command around here naturally.”
“Why? Because you’re the alpha male?”
“Well—”
“The nail on my baby toe is more alpha than you.”
“I really want to jump in here, so you don’t dig yourself a deeper hole with that statement, but I want to see you talk your way out of it.”

The Marriage Arrangement is a novella in the Marriage to a Billionaire series by the very talented Jennifer Probst. I am a big fan of Jennifer and this series so I was excited to get more! Ripley Savage is running the Windsor Winery and it’s his life. He’s saved the business, but then he finds out he has to marry the owner’s daughter if he wants to keep it. It needs to stay in the family. Caterina ran away from the family business over a year ago after a bad break up. She just couldn’t be there. She’s been in Italy trying to decide what to do with her life. Rip needs to bring her home and marry her to keep his job and what he loves. Cat doesn’t trust him, but she loves her dad and her legacy. When they are forced to work together all day, the sparks fly. Will Cat agree to marry Rip for more than just the winery? Will Rip win over her heart? I loved this story. It’s short, but it packs in all the feels. I laughed, cried, had to fan myself and didn’t want it to end. Jennifer always delivers with her deep characters, wonderful writing and fun scenes.

“Carbs. There’s something sexy as hell about watching a woman eat a piece of bread.”

“I think we’re going to get along just fine.”

“I think you’re beautiful,” she whispered.

“Keep looking at me like that and there’s only one place we’ll end up.”

“What did you think when you first saw me? Please include the word hot in there somewhere.”

Watch the Book Trailer:

Read an Excerpt:

“You have to marry her.”

Rip Savage stared at the man who’d been like a father to him over the past year. Even now, with worry lines bracketing his eyes and mouth, the older man retained a sense of elegance and grace befitting someone of English descent, even royalty. With his thinning silver hair, thick black framed glasses, and penchant for designer black suits, he cut an intimidating figure, even before one stared into those pale blue eyes that could turn steel grey with stubborn defiance. Of course, Edward Winsor had a reputation to live up to. Within the cliques of vineyards and winery owners in the Hudson Valley, he was well known for his quality vintage and a tightly knit family-run business that competed with Brotherhood Winery for the oldest run winery in the state. His estate was small but mighty, and one of the sought-after blue-bloods that many admired.

Rip had been the only one to know Winsor Winery had been almost bankrupt. Beneath the flawless surface, something rotten had flourished. When Rip was hired to pull the business from ruin, he’d been focused on success no matter what the cost. He hadn’t expected to develop such affection for Edward, or be treated like a son rather than a hired associate.

Therefore, instead of panic, he regarded the older man from across his cherrywood desk with a frown. “I don’t understand. What does Caterina have to do with the winery?”

Edward gave a long sigh, tapping his elegant finger against the etched crystal highball glass that contained his usual two fingers of Scotch. He shifted his weight in his chair, causing the leather to squeak slightly. They were in Rip’s favorite room—the library/study—decorated in bold, rich wines with a hint of Tuscan gold. The fabrics were decadent, from the expensive dark leathers to the Oriental tapestry rugs, and burgundy velvet couches. Bookshelves lined the wall, the scents of old paper and leather bindings with a touch of wood polish drifting in the air. The large bay windows overlooked the acres of rolling property with the view of the spectacular Shawangunk Mountains.

Usually, the view alone soothed him. Reminded him of his success and how far he’d come in a world he’d fought to break into. But his nerves were edged with a fine tension that matched his gut. Something bad was going down, and he had a terrible idea he wouldn’t be able to stop it.

Blog Tour & 5 Heart Reviews – Bro Code, Kendall Ryan

May 2, 2018 By

From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a flirty new standalone about falling for your older brother’s best friend.

There’s pretty much only one rule when you’re a guy.

Don’t be a douche.

Turns out, the fastest way to break that rule is to fall for your best friend’s sister.

Ava’s brilliant, sharp-tongued, gorgeous, and five years younger than me.

She’s the sexual equivalent of running with scissors. In a word, she’s dangerous. And completely off-limits.

Falling for her could ruin everything.

Yet I can’t seem to stop, even when her company is threatened by a lawsuit, and my promotion hinges on representing the opposing client—and winning.

I can’t see a way out of this mess that doesn’t end in a broken friendship, a broken heart, or a ruined career.

I may have broken the bro code when I fell for Ava. But do I have the balls to handle what comes next?

Kindle US | AMAZON UK | iBooks | B&N | Paperback

Kara's Review

Bro Code is Kendall Ryan’s newest sexy, fun, sweet romance. I’m a huge fan of Kendall’s and I have read over thirty of her books and I have to say that Barrett is one of my favorite heroes of hers! I loved every inch of him from the top of his sexy head to the bottom of his toes and everything in between. Barrett always had a thing for his best friend Nick’s sister, Ava. He hasn’t seen her in years and when he’s back in town for Nick’s dad’s retirement party, he’s shocked to find out he’s going to be sleeping under the same roof as Ave. Uh oh. This is not going to work. If he thought she was a beautiful teenager, he’s not going to be able to stay away from the gorgeous woman she grew up to be. The bro code if very serious. You don’t date your bro’s ex or their sister. Period. But when Ava is there and she’s funny and sexy and when they are forced to spend some time together, Barrett can’t not touch her. He can’t not want her. He isn’t thinking about Nick or if he will lose his friend. He’s only thinking about the way he feels about her. How much he can’t let her go. But what happens when reality sets in? Can they really have a future together? I absolutely loved this story! Barrett was everything. Ava is hilarious and independent and never stopped crushing on Barrett. Bro Code is laugh out loud funny, fan yourself sexy and I didn’t want to put it down.

Because the thought of not touching her is a fate worse than death.

“Yeah, you ended up being a lot…well…more than I was expecting.”

“I was, huh? Sorry, I’ll keep it in its cage next time.”

“You’re such an ass.”

“I don’t think my ass was part of my anatomy in question.”

Sandra's Review

Bro Code is Kendall Ryan’s next sexy, fun, and swoony stand-alone. I love her books so much that I didn’t even read the synopsis so I didn’t know if the bro code was going to be about a sister or an ex-girlfriend. I was so happy when it was the sister. I would have read it anyway but that would had been a completely different story and I loved this one.
Barrett hasn’t been home for a few years even though he only lives three hours away. That is how busy he is as a lawyer in Chicago. A lawyer who wants to be partner ASAP. His life is his career. He doesn’t have time to date. He rarely even has time to get laid. And that was definitely not in the cards when he was staying at his best friend’s family home for the long weekend to celebrate Nick’s father’s retirement. What he didn’t realize was that she was going to be there too. Ava. His best friend’s sister. The very one that he crushed on for years. She was a teenage dream before but now she was all woman. A twenty-five year old sassy, sexy, smart, and very off-limits woman. He was so fucked…
She was so screwed. Ava had lusted for Barrett before she even knew what the word meant. He was handsome, smart, and sweet. She thought she could handle being around him for the weekend. Now that she saw him, she knows she is in trouble especially after an unexpected run-in. Some flirty banter that she didn’t see coming. And a kiss that made her want to do a whole lot more. The problem? Barrett’s fucking control when it comes to the bro code. She figures it’s better this way, they both have careers that take up their time. They both aren’t ready for love. They still have boxes to check off before settling down.
Awe! I loved Barrett and Eva’s story! The sexual tension between them is thick. The reading is both hilarious and hot. The banter is so much fun. It’s not all about sex with these two. It’s more but is it enough when Eva finds out what he has been hiding?
Overall…if you want to laugh, feel hot and bothered, and swoon, then this book is for you! I loved every minute of it and looking forward to Kendall’s next book.
Quotes:
“I’m not rushing you.” Dad gives my shoulder a fond pat. “I just don’t want you to be alone. You’ve got a lot to offer a man.”
“I’ll put that on a sign next time I go up for auction,” I tease, and he chuckles before shaking his head.
She shrugs. “I don’t like being told what to do unless I’m naked.”
Being near her after all these years, and seeing the woman she’s grown into? It’d be impossible not to want her.
