A sexy romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…

She’s playing with fire…

Dog trainer Cara Bailey wants to find “the one,” but fantasizing about her sexy-as-hell client, firefighter Travis Jansen, is getting in the way. Her only option? Get the confirmed bachelor out of her system-in every position possible-so she can settle down with Mr. Right. Starting right now.

Travis doesn’t do relationships, so no matter how badly he wants the pretty little brunette, he keeps his distance. Until Cara goes and changes the game. She’ll fulfill all of his fantasies if he agrees to walk away when it’s over. But when the wildfire between them blazes out of control, it will consume everything-and everyone-in its path….

CONSUMED BY YOU is a full-length, standalone romance novel that follows Travis and Cara’s scorching story.

But tonight, my God, it felt like anything could happen, and everything should happen. Maybe that’s what years of longing could do to a woman. She tried to concentrate on her mission—turning the tables on him, putting one over on the guys and their bet. But that motivation was growing muted and fuzzy as their bodies collided and he dropped his forehead against hers.

“I’ve been thinking about you all night,” he whispered hotly.

“What have you been thinking?” she asked, the breathiness in her voice betraying how damn much she wanted him.

He didn’t answer right away. In the span of his silence, she imagined he’d give her a sweet line, because even when they were younger, he was a talker in moments like this, always telling her she was hot, he loved touching her, that sort of thing. But it was no rote compliment that fell from his lips.

His answer was simple.

“Red what?”

“I’ve been wondering if red was a theme for you tonight.

If it extended across your entire wardrobe.”

She trembled, turning into putty in his hands at the implication. Damn, a few enticing words, and she was ready to launch herself at him. “You have some very interesting thoughts, Travis.”

“Oh, you don’t even know the half of it,” he said in a husky voice, low in her ear, the words sending a burst of tingles down her spine, settling between her legs in a sweet ache.

“Well, you were standing there drinking beer and thinking about my clothes. That’s a little odd,” she said, teasing him.

He yanked her body harder against him. “Did I say I was thinking about your clothes?” He wrenched back to look her in the eyes. His were full of dark intent, as if his filthy thoughts were written on them for her to read. He dipped his head to her neck, his warm breath on her bare skin. She shivered from the closeness, from the connection.

“Then tell me what you were thinking about,” she said.

“All I could do was imagine what you had on underneath this dress,” he said, fingering the slim strap on her shoulder. “And if that was red, too. If you were going to let me find out.”

4.5 Stars

This is the third book in the Fighting Fire series and Lauren definitely knows how to write about smokin’ hot firemen and the sassy and equally sexy ladies they fall for. I met Travis and Cara in the previous books and so happy that they were getting their own story. Travis is the sexy volunteer fireman and professional card player and Cara is a dog trainer.

Travis and Cara have known each other for most of their lives but starting ten years ago, their friendship turned into more. But even back then they had an expiration date. Their timing has always been off and it doesn’t help that Travis doesn’t want the white picket fence and 2.5 kids like Cara dreams about. Cara knows this but throughout the years of random hook-ups, she knows he is the only man that can give her the pleasure she wants and needs. And with the help of a puppy and amazing friends that know they are into each other, Travis and Cara both get what they need…puppy lessons and sexy as sin sex.

Travis and Cara have two weeks until their most recent expiration date. Cara needs to get Travis out of her system and she thinks this is the way to do it. And Travis needs to win the Bachelor Fireman Auction and his puppy, Henry could help him out if he could stop humping people’s legs. Ha. Can Henry bring these two stubborn but sexy people together?

Travis and Cara have some seriously hot chemistry. They also will have sex anywhere as long as it’s not a bed. That would make it too real for both of them and Travis doesn’t want to give Cara mixed signals. They will also be friends and have chemistry but can it ever turn into love? Will Cara’s plan work and get Travis out of her system?  Will their sexual relationship end on the expiration date?

I thought this was a great addition to the series. It was sexy, sweet, funny and has some great ideas for dinners.

P.S. Love Henry ❤️

“You’re learning how to reel ’em in, right, little fella? But maybe try some cuddling and sweetness first, before you break out the wood.”

“Now I get to admire you,” she said with a happy sigh, as she gazed at his gorgeous body—her playground for another week or so. Her real estate. Her temporary, gorgeous, handy, dog-loving man.

“As it turns out, today I am offering a special. Two orgasms for the price of one,” he joked as he rose from the chair to unhook her bra.

Consumed by You is another addition to the Fighting Fire series by Lauren Blakely. I love Lauren’s fireman. They are hot, funny and sexy. Travis is no exception! Travis and Cara have a history and when those old feelings resurface flames ensue. Travis doesn’t do relationships and Cara does so there is no way that it will work, but when Cara proposes and deal that Travis can’t turn down, the heat is on! Travis and Cara have amazing chemistry and witty banter. They make each other laugh, turn each other on and have deep feelings for each other. Will Cara be able to walk away when it’s over? Will Travis lose the best woman he’s ever known again? Lauren’s writing is the perfect combination of :love, sex, heat, humor and angst.

“Why do people use pussy as an insult? I never understood that. Pussy is fucking awesome. It’s pretty much the greatest thing in the world.”

Cara was his fantasy girl, but she was more than a fantasy. He’d had her, and he knew just how good it was when the two of them were together.

“Okay. And not that I’m protesting, because let me make it clear, my answer is yes, fuck yes, and absofuckinglutely yes, but why the change?”

And don’t miss the first two titles in the Fighting Fire series!

Release Blitz, 5 Heart Reviews, Excerpt, Teasers, Author Interview & *Giveaway* – Ropes and Revenge, Jessie Evans

April 14, 2015 By

Ropes and Revenge by Jessie Evans
(Lonesome Point, Texas #6)
Publication date: April 14th 2015
Genres: Adult, Suspense

Eight months ago, John Lawson lost his wife and best friend in a tragic accident on his family’s ranch. In the time since, he’s devoted himself to two things—taking care of his two newly motherless sons and proving that Lily’s accident was no accident. Now, he finally has hard evidence that his wife was murdered and he won’t rest until he has the killer’s blood on his hands. He doesn’t have time for anything but vengeance, especially not a crazy ghost hunter wanting to poke around the old spring on his family’s ranch.

Persephone Styles—Percy to her friends—learned about ghosts the hard way, when she was orphaned by a violent crime at the age of seven. Ever since, she’s seen spirits and been obsessed with studying souls beyond the grave. She’s in Lonesome Point to document the town’s spectral activity, but finds herself powerfully drawn to widower John Lawson and empathizing with his grieving children. For the first time in years, Percy is as riveted by the living as she’s always been by the dead and longs to be a part of John’s life.

But when one night of passion becomes something more, Percy realizes John is as haunted as she is and that the man she’s coming to love is walking a dangerous road that may end with him becoming a murderer’s next victim.

The Lonesome Point, TX series is one of my favorites. Jessie Evans knows how to write a sexy cowboy! Her writing gets better with every book and Ropes and Revenge has the most heart of the series, and the most suspense. John lost his wife, Lily, seven months ago in a tragic accident. Well, John doesn’t think it was an accident and he’s been trying to prove it. Persephone is a psychic and she comes to Lonesome Point, a well-known haunted place, to help restless spirits cross over to the other side. When John meets her he’s mad that she’s on his land and he’s rude to her. He’s also attracted to her and that scares him. John gets a chance to apologize to Percy, and something sparks between them. She vows to help him find out who killed Lily. They form a fast friendship and Percy realizes that she wants him. John is dealing with the loss of his wife and finding her killer and now with the guilt of having feelings for Percy. Things heat up between John and Percy while they search for evidence of the killer. John wants to keep her safe and she instantly becomes one of the family. She’s different than any woman he’s ever known. Different than his late wife and he doesn’t know what to do with his feelings. Will John let himself find love again before it’s too late? Will Percy be able to find the killer and help John move forward? Percy is smart and funny and John is sexy and serious. They complement each other perfectly! John learns to let laughter into his life again and Percy realizes that she’s not her past. This is the ultimate second chance at love story. It’s possible to find love twice in a lifetime and even if it’s scary, you have to make the jump!! This was the perfect way to close out the series. There are some surprises in store for other residents of Lonesome Point and I can’t wait to find out what they are!

She tasted like mercy and forgetfulness, and for the first time in forever, John found himself completely lost in a moment.

“Because I don’t want anyone to hear the hungry sounds you make when we’re kissing except me.”

Percy’s breath rushed out. “I make sounds?”

“Sexy little whimpers and moans,” John continued in that rough whisper that threatened to undo her.

“Never,” John said. “I like your naughty side. And your sweet side. And the side that bosses me around when I’m being an short-sighted asshole.”

I have read the whole Lonesome Point Texas Series and l have loved each and every one of them. They all have a unique story behind the love story. You can read them as standalone including Ropes & Revenge but I do recommend you read Chaps & Chance first to get to know Lily and the background of her death.
John lost his wife seven months ago and he still doesn’t believe it was an accident. He is convinced she was murdered but can not find any solid proof. He is consumed to find out the truth and to also be there for his two young sons. John’s family is worried about him since he is not acting himself but also understand he has to grieve for the love of his life. They just wish he would live and have hope that happiness will come around again…He didn’t believe it until he laid eyes of Persephone.
Persephone “Percy” is a ghost whisperer and travels the world to help ghosts move on to the other side of the veil. She connects with them and brings them peace before they leave this side. She is now in Lonesome Point to spend some time on Lawson Ranch and the Old Ghost Town. She thought she would only be there for one week but when she meets John Lawson things change. She has a feeling that there is a reason why she is there and it is to help John and maybe even herself.
John and Percy want to find out who murdered Lily and now that Percy has found proof, it gets the mystery going in the right direction. But John doesn’t want Percy to be the next victim if they get too close to the truth. He cares about her too much. He didn’t think he would ever care for someone after losing Lily but then again he didn’t think he would met someone like Percy. She is different. She is there to help a family that she didn’t even know when she got to town and won’t quit until the mystery is solved and ghosts are at peace.
I loved John and Percy’s story! I love a good mystery and throw in love and I am done for. Percy is kick ass and love that she is different in the best ways. She also wants to live with the living and not just ghosts and her past. And then there is John, he is sexy, sweet and cares so much for his family. He is so confused. About Lily and Percy and what to do next.
So many questions in this one! Will they find the killer before he strikes again? Will John push Percy away or will he not be able to let her go? Has Percy found her place in the world after traveling and being on her own for so long?
Overall…thIs novel is full of mystery, love and family. It was great to see the rest of the gang in town and catching up with them. There is also a surprise at the end and I am super excited about it.
Life can be cruel, but death isn’t an end. And love is never a mistake.
Maybe she wasn’t simply meant to help John get his life back on track. Maybe he was going to teach her a thing or two, as well.
“Give me something real to remember. Make me feel alive. Even if it’s only for a night.”

“I’m not good with people,” Persephone said, holding his gaze for a long beat before she continued. “I don’t know what to say to help them feel better when they’re hurting, but sometimes I can help them by helping the people they loved. I know you don’t believe in ghosts, but I do and I care about them and I want to help them find peace. That’s all. I believe everyone deserves peace, don’t you?”

“I believe people don’t get what they deserve,” John said, his voice rough. “Now leave. Please.”

She had to leave before the earnest look on her beautiful face or the empathy shining in her eyes broke him and he started spilling his guts to a total stranger. This woman didn’t deserve to know that his wife was dead or that he still mourned her like it had happened yesterday, not seven months ago. She didn’t deserve to know that a weak, pathetic part of him almost wanted to believe in ghosts, just so he might have some hope of communicating with Lily, of being able to tell her how much he loved her one more time.

But that’s what people like this woman counted on.

“John, please,” Persephone whispered in her feather soft voice. “Let me help if I can.”

His stomach went sour. Persephone probably already knew that Lily had died last spring. She would have done her research before coming here to prey on his grief the way charlatans like her had preyed on the suffering for centuries. If he gave her another ten minutes, he had little doubt she would be offering to help him contact Lily on the other side.

For a fee, of course. A fee he was sure dozens of sad fools had paid her through the years, but he wasn’t going to be one of them.

“Get off my land,” he repeated in a firmer voice. “I have nothing to say to you and I don’t want, or need, your kind of help.”

Her thin shoulders slumped and a defeated expression tightened her delicate features. “All right. Well, I… I guess I should know better by now,” she mumbled as she turned to walk toward the four-wheeler.

“Know better than to try to scam people?”

She slid one leg over the four-wheeler before turning to face him, giving him a moment to register how out of place this elegant person looked on the dusty red machine before she spoke. “I should know better than to reach out to people like you, but I can’t help myself. I keep hoping…” She shook her head wistfully. “But I suppose I’ll grow out of that, sooner or later.”

She reached for the ignition. “Good luck, John. I hope things get better for you soon.”

John crossed his arms and watched her go, determined to keep his expression impassive. He didn’t want her to know how shitty the seemingly genuine concern in her voice made him feel. He didn’t want to think about being part of the reason someone stopped hoping to forge connections with people different than themselves.

Lily had been totally different than the girls he’d dated before her. Until he’d met his freckle-faced, sass-talking, no-bullshit wife, he’d dated women who took far better care of their outsides than their insides. He’d been a sucker for a pretty face and a nice rack and hadn’t looked too far beneath the surface.

And then he’d met Lily and learned what a difference a heart made. She had taught him how to love, pushed him out of his emotional comfort zone, and refused to settle for less than everything he had to give. He’d fought her at first—determined to hold her at the same distance he’d held other girls—but with a mixture of stubbornness, humor, and kisses that took his breath away, she’d worn him down until he was putty in her hands.

On the day they were married, he’d been certain he would never love anyone more than he loved her that afternoon. But their love had grown deeper and stronger with every passing year. By the time they celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary, John had felt like she was a part of him, so deeply ingrained in his heart and dear to his soul nothing could tear them apart.

But death had ripped her away and taken the best parts of him along with her.

“Jesus, Lily.” John bowed his head, his breath rushing out with a defeated sound. “See what an asshole I am without you?”

He waited, a pathetic part of him hoping he might hear her voice in his head again, the way he had Halloween night. But there was nothing but the sound of some critter digging in the ground on the far side of the stream, the gentle burble of water over stones from farther up the mountain, and Darcy snuffling as she sniffed the ground where Persephone Styles had stood a few moments before.

Sandra's Review 4.5 Stars

This is my first Blakely Bennett novel and it will not be my last. This is the second book in the series but can also be read as a stand alone but it does make me want to read the first one. Those characters were very interesting with their relationship…

Lainie is independent, smart and the owner of her own boutique but when it comes to love she is at a loss. Her lover, Mason is married and and in love with her but he can not give her what she wants and she will not ask for it, she can not do that to his family. Their sexual relationship includes some very steamy role playing games. He is very dominant and she loves it but they only see each other for short amounts of time when he can get away. He heart breaks when he leaves and she knows in her mind she should tell him not to come back but she just can’t. She loves him but she will never fully have him….

When fate steps and Lainie gets sick, it brings her back to reality. Her friend Stayman aka Stay steps in and takes care of her, he sees her vulnerable. She may be embarrassed but she feels completely comfortable with him even though she doesn’t really know him at all. Stay is so sweet and flirty, he does not hide the fact that he has his eyes on her and her alone. She is not sure Mason would be this way with her or she would be comfortable with him seeing her this way. It really makes her think….and it changes the way she sees Stay.

Stay and Lainie have so much fun together. They can actually leave the apartment and not have to hide. Stay of course wants more with Lainie but she keeps him at a distance because she is in love with Mason, she doesn’t want to lead him on. Stay knows in his gut he needs to be patient and be freinds with Lainie but never hides his wants! And when she does give in it’s fucking hot…Stay is amazing and such a dominant but sweet lover. But can Lainie let go of Mason? Can she let Stay in? Will she chose to stay with someone she believes she loves but doesn’t have a full future with or a man that could give her everything that she doesn’t know if she could ever love?

This was a hard review! Lainie was frustrating as hell but it’s hard to say anything when you haven’t been in the situation. I fell in love with Stay from the start…he is so sweet, understanding, fun and the flirty! And later on…he is even more. But I know Lainie was conflicted. The heat is amazing and so passionate. I also loved the group of friends and her Dad was pretty awesome. Bad ass really.

“I love you baby,” he said just before his lips touched mine. I wouldn’t say say I love you back, I couldn’t. Not that I didn’t love him, I love him so much it devastated me if I thought too far ahead, knowing that he would never truly be mine.

Part of me wanted to see him, needed to see him, like an addiction without its fix. Another part wished I had the gumption to tell him to go to hell.

“I want you Lainie. I’m half hard every time you are even in the same room with me and it’s not just the sex I want. I want to peel away the layers all the way down to your soul. Just give me a chance.”

I slipped into the jacket and latched the repeating circles onto my wrist. The bottom of the coat stopped just where the broad lines of the dress changed from horizontal to vertical. “What do you think?” I asked Samantha.
“You look stunning,” a deep male voice responded. I turned around and found Stay smiling at me.
“Wow Stay,” Sam said before I could respond. “Looking mighty handsome. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think this is a date.”
Stayman looked sharp in his black dress pants, matching coat, and dark-gray dress shirt. I gazed at him but was at a loss for words. We stared at each other for a second.
Sam saved me by saying, “Stay, there’s a wire mannequin in the attic that I’d like brought down, and Lane and I can’t lift it. I wondered if you could do that for us. Not now. I wouldn’t want you to mess up your clothes, but—”
As he removed his coat, he said, “It shouldn’t take long and I’ll just take off my shirt.”He started unbuttoning as both Samantha and I watched as he slowly revealed his chest. Stay slipped out of his shirt and laid it neatly on top of his jacket.
His smooth, lean torso was highly defined and I got caught staring at his chest. He winked at me and then said to Sam, “Come on and show me the way.”
Once they walked away, I glared into the mirror and said, “Don’t even think about it.”
Minutes later, he had managed to carry the mannequin down.
“Let’s put it in the back,” I said, leading the way. “It needs to be cleaned up before it can be out on the floor.” I showed him where to put it. Scanning his physique from his head to his shoes, I noticed that he continued to let his golden-brown hair grow in and chose to where black boots instead of dress shoes. To make matters worse, his five o’clock shadow was incredibly sexy. Damn, he looks hot. Look away girl, just look away!
“Here,” I said, holding out a lint roller, but not making eye contact.
Some dust had settled on the front of his pants just over the zipper area. “You don’t want to help?”
I turned away and said, “Go get dressed.”
“Are you sure that’s your final decision?”
“Very sure.” My rapidly beating heart settled down once his clothing was back on.
“Are you ready to go?” he asked.
“Let me go grab my clothes bag and my clutch and I will be.” Sam followed me into my office.
“He looks hot!” she exclaimed. “He must really like you. I’ve never seen him dressed up before.”
“Stop it,” I said, making sure my dress lay straight.
“Forget about MM for the night,” she said to me with a serious expression. She pulled the tag off my jacket.
“That’s not possible. Thanks for closing up and helping with the outfit.”
“No problem.

Release Day Sale & *Giveaway* – A Fighter’s Desire, L.P. Dover

July 28, 2014 By

Two is always better than one.
Knowing a fighter’s desires and needs are one thing, but actually experiencing them is another. A Fighter’s Desire gives you not one, but two stories full of hardcore passion, angst, and action that’ll leave you breathless and aching for more.
Part One: Ryley and Camden Jameson, well-known MMA fighters and identical twins, were just as aggressive and passionate in the bed as they were in the ring. They loved a good fight, and that’s exactly what they got when they met Ashleigh Warren. The brothers had a habit of sharing things—including women—and she happened to be the only one they truly craved. However, the problem was getting her to agree to their proposition. It was one she couldn’t refuse, but she knew it wouldn’t be easy to win. Nonetheless, she sure as hell was going to enjoy it.
Part Two: Fighting temptation isn’t easy when you’re constantly around the one person you’ve desired more than any other. Gabriella Reynolds was warned by her brother, MMA Heavyweight Champion Matt Reynolds, to stay away from his friends; they only wanted one thing, and in the end they’d break her heart. Title: Twisted Luck (Run of Luck, #1)

Author: Julie Solorio

Publication Date: July 24, 2014

I’m Kaitlyn.

In my life, rarely are there dull moments. I seem to land myself in these…situations a lot. I am 25, and in college (yes, still!). I have just met the most gorgeous guy, Cole, in my math class. The only problem is that he is a little guarded. Just when I start to make progress with him, my crazy elderly neighbor Marge disappears after visiting some questionable dating sites. Who the hell has even heard of!

Anyway, since my best friend and roommate Hailey and I have kind of adopted Marge, we join forces with her grandson Matt to help find her. Cole even decides to join in the hunt! Along the way, we cross paths with Ben – a creeper who might also be really dangerous.

Will I be able to keep us safe and out of trouble, find Marge, and land the guy? Or will my Twisted Luck screw everything up?

5 Stars

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Twisted Luck and also to know Julie Solorio. She is so funny, smart and just over all awesome so I knew I would be going on an adventure while reading her first book and I was 100% correct.

Kaityln is a shy twenty-five year old college student that has a slight crush on Cole, a guy that does not lack attention from other women on campus. She doesn’t know that much about him really but when they do talk in math class they are friendly. There have been times when he seems to enjoy her company but she gets flustered around him. When they finally do spend time together outside of school it goes great until it doesn’t….

Hailey is Kaitlyn’s room at and best friend. They have the downstairs neighbor named Marge that is a little old lady with some feistiness. She is not your typical baking and knitting type of Grandma and she doesn’t have family close so they all turn out to be great friends. The girls help her with internet dating and watch reality shows together….she is pretty much a 20 something in a 70 year old body.

When Kaityln gets the call that Marge is missing she is of course worried. She and Hailey felt bad that they haven’t noticed that she has been gone for a few days but when her Grandson couldn’t get ahold of her for those few days he made a missing persons report. What Hailey did not expect was that when she finally met Marge’s grandson that things would get interesting to say the least.

Cole has to go out of town but when the search continues he decides to meet up with all of them to find Marge and this takes them on an adventure and also a way to get to know Kaitlyn even more. To Kaitlyn, Cole is mysterious, she knows he is sweet and sexy as hell but other than that she doesn’t know much. As they go on this crazy ride she will get deeper into what Cole is hiding and who he really is. The four of them go through so many laughs, sadness and even have to deal a creeper.

I haven’t laughed so much in a book in a long time. Kaitlyn reminds me of myself in a lot of ways, I don’t think I am as funny but her inner thoughts are some of the same. The reference to music and TV were awesome and I understood all of them. This is a lighter read and I loved it. Just hilarious, sweet and with some mystery. Can’t wait for the next one!

I also catch a few glimpses of her “profile” where, under hobbies, she listed tweaking, dropping it like it’s hot, and the horizontal mambo. This woman is certifiably insane. I might have to sabotage her cable or something.

When Bruno Mars started singing about hot gorilla sex I may have gotten a little turned on and squirmy in my seat.

“Its all fun and games until you try to stage an intervention.”

Who runs over a bird? They have wings! They fly! Why didn’t you fly, you stupid bird! Maybe he couldn’t fly. No, that’s not right, he was flying just seconds before his untimely death. I don’t know what to make of this, but Hailey still has wide eyes, and she hasn’t spoken.

“Hails? You okay? That wasn’t your fault, you know. That was just…just crazy weird. I don’t know what it was, but it definitely was not your fault. You’re okay, right?”

It’s quiet for a couple minutes and then she says quietly, “I have a dark aura.”

Kara's Review

5 Stars

I am a huge fan of Carly’s. I’ve read the other Dare books and I LOVED them. We met Gabe in Dare to Desire and I was very intrigued. He was broody and snarky and I love that in a man! He has a thing for Isabelle but she’s taken. He decides to sit back and just wait for her. An accidental meeting in a police station, he finds her handcuffed and penniless. He sees an opportunity and he takes it. Gabe wants to own her and she’s too independent for that but she can’t deny the pull to this hot, sexy man. They end up at Eden, an island resort where anything can happen. Can Gabe convince her to give herself to him fully? Can Isabelle let go of control and submit to Gabe. You have to read it to find out! Do not miss this one. We also get to see Gabe’s cousins from the other Dare books – I loved seeing what is going on with them. I can’t to read more from Carly!

Gabe’s very posture and demeanor set him apart from any other man I’d met. His white teeth, tanned skin, and chiseled features were put together in a way that made him extraordinarily handsome. That he owned the space and air around him merely added to his appeal.

“I can’t change what or who came before you, but I can tell you that you’re different. For me, to me. I don’t understand why, I just know. And if you give me the chance, I’ll prove it.”

It was like some unseen force telling me you were it. Not to let you go. And every time I saw you with him…I couldn’t breathe.”

“And make no mistake, Kitten, I always intend to give you what you need. A little bondage, some light punishment puts you back in the right headspace. That’s it. It’s all about you. It’ll always be about you.”

Gabe silently thanked God his houseguest escaped into the shower as soon as she possibly could. The tour of the house had just about done him in. Isabelle’s oohs and aahs had been genuine, as had her love of his favorite room in the place. Unlike Naomi, who had taken one look at his apartment and immediately begun calculating how she could move in permanently, Isabelle, who he had invited, not only wanted to pay her way but she planned to leave as soon as possible.

Not if he had his way.

Back at the police station, outside in the rain, it’d been all he could do not to reach out and swipe his hands over her responsive nipples, feel her tremble beneath his touch, and get rid of the ridiculous distance between them. He might not know her well, but he’d always felt they’d connected. The physical attraction was obvious. She was all woman, supple curves, her breasts full and lush, and she possessed one hell of an ass. His cock twitched with the desire he’d felt from the moment he’d first seen her on Daltry’s arm.

But things ran deeper. They’d shared banter and flirting during opportune moments when he’d caught her alone. He’d had glimpses of the intelligent, witty woman she was when not with that pompous ass. But not until today had he really seen beyond the exterior beauty to the depth beneath. Those sexy blonde curls that bounced wildly around her face were a proud testament to the fiercely independent woman she desperately wanted to be.

The woman he intended to help her find.

It wouldn’t be easy. Isabelle needed gentling. Understanding. Patience. Not his best traits, but when it came to her, he’d already exercised plenty. He’d bided his time, knowing Daltry would fuck up sooner or later. The balls that made him a crack financial investor also imbued an arrogance that would be his downfall. And it had been.

It was Gabe’s good fortune that Daltry’s screw-up had landed Isabelle at his brother’s police station. Seeing her there had given him insight he wouldn’t have had otherwise. In Isabelle, he saw an intriguing combination of weary life experience and innocent ingenue. It was the innocence the most primitive part of him wanted to conquer, to possess. Since he’d begun running his father’s empire at the age of twenty-one, the same age he’d been drafted into surrogate parenthood to his sister, he had always gotten what he wanted.

And Gabe wanted Isabelle.

“You sure you’re not sneaking off to Los Angeles to get me a ring?”

He laughed once more. She’d been trying to get it out of him since the night he told her he’d wanted to take her to Vegas for the weekend. Even with her business meeting, she was hunting for clues of a proposal. Only his brother knew he planned to ask her to marry him this weekend. “I’m not going to Los Angeles to get a ring, but even if I were I would never tell you,” he said.

“You do realize that gives absolutely nothing away?”

He nodded, tapping her forehead lightly, then running his finger down to her nose. “I know,” he said, then nibbled on the end of her nose.

“Well, enough about rings. What’s in that box there you’re hiding by your leg?”

“You saw it?”

“My gift-spotting skills know no bounds.”

He handed her the turquoise-wrapped box with a white bow on it. She eyed the bow. “In case you want to tie me up on the plane, looks like we already have something to use.”

His dick twitched against the denim of his jeans. She was always on the same wavelength as he was. “I may need to tie up your hands as a reminder to bring your poker face to the meeting today.”

She gave him a sharp-eyed stare. “Do not ever doubt my poker face. It is masterful,” she said, as she tugged one end of the ribbon, letting the white satiny bow fall across the shiny wrapping paper. Ripping off the paper, she popped open the top of the box, and there it was. That glow in her eyes. The absolute joy in receiving gifts. She was a delight to give presents to because she never faked her appreciation. Reaching inside the box, she wrapped her fingers around the necklace then gently lifted the long strand of pearls. “Oh my God, they’re stunning. They’re so fucking gorgeous.”

She draped the pearls over her hand, the long strands like waterfalls of smooth, rounded beads. She gazed at them like they were precious, a fitting response, since they were. “They’re real,” she said, with wonder in her voice as she looked up at him.

He nodded. “I would never give you something fake.”

“I’ve never had pearls before. I’ve never thought of myself as a pearl person.”

“Then let me show you how I want you to wear them, so you can see how absolutely fucking sexy a pearl person can be,” he said, standing up and making his way to his suitcase. He opened one of the zipper compartments where he’d tucked a dress for her, and brought it over. “Another gift. Put this on.”

He nodded. “Yes. Model it for me.”

“As you wish,” she said, standing up and glancing once at the cockpit. “What about the pilot?”

“I told him we’d be making full use of the plane and he said he’d have his eyes on the sky the whole time.”

“Then keep your eyes on me,” she said, looping the strand around her neck, then stripping off her skirt, letting it pool at her feet, her gaze locked on him the whole time. He watched her, growing harder with each layer she removed—now her shirt, then her lacy bra. He reclined the spacious leather seat, taking in the show, savoring every second of her undressing.

Sandra's Review

When I found out the big surprise of having another book with Clay and Julia I could not be more excited! I can’t get enough of Clay, the dirty talking Lawyer from New York and Julia the sexy and independent Bar owner from San Francisco. They are now in the same city and still going stronger than ever but that is not where you will find them in this story!

Clay and Julia are headed to Las Vegas, Baby! Clay’s hometown and the place Julia has avoided because of past events but now she is ready to have some fun in Sin City with her man. Clay has some surprises up his sleeve to make this weekend is more exciting….just wait until you see what he can do with a string of pearls. I don’t know if I can look at them the same way again.

When Clay has to make a little detour Julia is on her own to get in some business and pleasure but she has a feeling something or someone is lurking. She wants to believe she is just paranoid since trouble seems to follow her. Could someone be following her? Is it just in her head because of her past? Is there a new player in the game? It is suspenseful….

When Clay and Julia are reunited later that night there is so much heat! These two can not be near each-other without touching or just give one another some naughty looks. Clay’s surprises just get better and better, he sure does know to give gifts. And what is even better…he knows how to use them. They don’t only know how to work together in the bedroom but also out of it….they are an amazing duo.

This trip to Vegas is not what they were expecting at all…this is not a lounging by the pool and play the games at night type of trip. It is full of suspense, steam and love.

Found out if they be lucky in Vegas or if their luck run out? You never know what could happen in the city of Sin.

“I suspect this will indeed by my favorite flight ever, though I kinda doubt it’ll be because of the smooth sailing.”

Sometimes a suit it just a suit. But sometimes it’s more.

“Gorgeous, there are so many more ways I want to violate you. I’ll never stop wanting to infringe on morals when it comes to your sinful body,” he said, then licked path from her collarbone, up to her ear, and she purred, her arousal ratcheting higher.

You know that feeling when you finish reading a 3 book series and you still want more? You still want to see what the hero and heroine are doing? It’s like an addiction. I suffered the loss of Clay and Julia when I finished After this night. So, what did I do when I heard there was going to be another book? I SCREAMED. Literally and for a minute, maybe more. I was lucky enough to have read this before release. Lauren Blakely is amazing. I’ve read all of her books and they keep getting better and better. After this Night was a Lauren Blakely book on erotica crack, and One more Night is still Lauren Blakely on that erotica crack high with a dose of suspense, humor and steam. Clay and Julia are living in NY together. Happy and in love; I love that we get to see this part of the relationship. Clay is more laid back and funny! He made me laugh more than a few times. Julia is still feisty and sassy but she’s more secure and confident. They take off for Vegas but Clay has to leave her and go to LA. He hates being away from her and she misses him. There is suspense, hot sex (can you say pearls), humor, excitement and love. We meet Clay’s brother Brent, who is hot and I hope we see more of him! And, of course, we get to see my man Chris again and that always makes me happy!! Will Clay and Julia continue to be lucky in love or will Vegas change their luck?

He smacked his forehead in the bathroom as he brushed his teeth. He spat out the toothpaste, rinsed his mouth and then gave himself the finger. “You’re an ass,” he said to his reflection under his breath.

“Here. There. Everywhere. But only if it’s legal.”
“The things you to do my body are clearly illegal, so I think we’ve already violated all the clauses.”

“God, you make me feel so good. Everything you do turns me on, Clay. When you tell me you want to fuck me it turns me on, and when you tell me you love me, it turns me on,” she said as the loud music pulsed around them, and club-goers danced on the balcony. But the lights were dim, the corner was dark, and he was all that mattered to her.
“I love you and I want to fuck you,” he said as his fingers skipped past her belly and down the front of her skirt.

Not just bad things, I hope. But very bad things? We are going to the city of sin, after all. I expect no stone unturned in your sinful pursuits.
I have so many sinful things planned for you that I’d be stopped at the border. That is, if Vegas had a border.

Boring Beth Lynn has always lived up to her nickname… until she wakes up in a

a woman like Beth could invoke.
He doesn’t think it can get any worse.
But one spider attack… A donkey ride from hell… And an unfortunate episode

“Oh, it doesn’t. I was just bored with all the silly questions about kidnapping and death. So depressing! You wouldn’t happen to have any wine, now would you?”
