Release Blitz & Review – Once Forbidden, Twice Shy, Carrie Aarons

Once Forbidden, Twice Shy by Carrie Aarons is live!

Running from your problems only brings you hurtling face first into even worse baggage.

After experiencing a brutal trauma in New York that I’d rather bury than address, escaping to a new job in London seems like the perfect solution. That was before I was introduced to my new boss, who is none other than my brother’s best friend. You know, the one I’ve been head-over-heels in love with forever.

Jack Merrick had been my crush since I knew what one was. For years we fought the feelings; I didn’t want to humiliate myself and his excuse was not betraying my brother or parents, who had accepted him as their own. Then, the night of my college graduation party, he undressed me in my childhood bedroom and confirmed that there was no one else on this earth for him but me.

When I woke the next morning he was gone, off to take a job as a coder halfway around the world. Four years and a mangled heart later, Jack is the last person I expect to see in London, and something close to fate is tricking me into thinking this is more than a coincidence. Our shared love of programming has always connected us, but now it’s the thing we’re weaponizing to get back at each other.

Until one night, when the emotional scars from my attack resurface and he’s the only one to witness a massive breakdown. He coaxes out my secrets and swears to love and protect me like he couldn’t before. But with everything stacked against us, I’m not sure we can ever have what we’ve always dreamed of.

Except just as we’re beginning to tackle those obstacles, I learn the truth of why he left all those years ago. And suddenly there may be no future for us at all.

Sandra's Review

5 out of 5 stars

Once Forbidden, Twice Shy is Carrie Aarons’s newest standalone. I love, love, love Carrie’s books since each one is so unique. This book is a mix of best friend’s sister, second chance, and off-limits romance.
Taylor needed to get out of New York so she applied for a coding job across the pond. She was so ready for a fresh start in London. It was exactly what she needed at this point in her life. She was excited and nervous for her first day of work. Then, she saw him. A man she has loved for most of her life. A man who four years ago had finally made her fantasies a reality. A man who was gone come morning and hasn’t heard from since. A man who is now her new boss…
Jack was in shock when he walked into work on his first day and saw Taylor there. And she didn’t looking happy to see him and he knew exactly why and one hundred percent takes responsibility for it. He was an ass back then. Now that she is here, he is not going to just let her go. He knows it’s going to be an uphill battle, one he shouldn’t even fight since she is his best friend’s sister and I am now her boss.
I can’t really get more into the story but I will say that it’s a fun, emotional, and sexy story. Taylor is a badass. Jack is a protective sweetheart that has work to do. I felt their intense connection from the beginning to the very end. If I wasn’t out camping, I would have read it in one sitting. I can’t wait to see what Carrie has for us next!
This is the boy who had been my childhood crush, my teenage dream, and my adult fantasy. One that had actually come true, until he shattered me into a million pieces.
So many moments over our lifetime that have been solely ours, that made us … us. And none of them amounted to anything, yet they amounted to everything.
“I’m not rushing this time, cookie.” It’s a promise, a threat, and a reminder to myself.

5 out of 5 stars

Promises We Meant to Keep is a standalone in the Lancaster Prep world by Monica Murphy. It truly can be read as standalone, I know since I didn’t read A Million Kisses in a Lifetime or Things I Meant to Say (but never did). I did however, one-click both of them afterwards. I did read the Arranged Marriage series and loved it! Since I don’t read blurbs I didn’t even put together they were tied till I saw the h’s name. Lol.
Sylvie and Spencer’s relationship has always had its complications. He’s best friend is Sylvie’s older brother. For years they would sneak around Lancaster Prep from dorm rooms to dark corners. First loves. First heartbreaks. Through it all the love was always there but they couldn’t always be together. Especially after a betrayal. Years went by without seeing each other. Now, they were both at her brother’s wedding and Spencer is as handsome as ever, the connection is still there, and also the hurt. He was always there for her even when she pushed him away but this time, he is cruel, and cold. He is done with her…
But is he really? Is it too late for them? Can he just walk away when she needs him?
I can’t really get into more of their story but I can say that I want to cut a bitch. Anyway, I loved it! Sylvie is a complicated and beautiful woman who is stronger than she believes. Spencer is a badass with a big heart. Together, I felt their connection, love, and passion throughout the book. Their story is emotional, suspenseful, and beautiful.

New Release & Review – Where You Are, Felice Stevens

September 20, 2022 | Posted in New Release, Review | By

Title: Where You Are
Author: Felice Stevens
Genre: MM Romance
Tropes: Age-Gap
Release Date: August 21, 2022
★★★★★ Amazon Review – “Couldn’t Put It Down!”
★★★★★ Amazon Review – “I really enjoyed this book. It is an honest and painful journey to read…”
★★★★★ Amazon Review – “A rough ride, well worth it”

4.5 out of 5 stars

Where You Are is a fun, sexy and great story from Felice Stevens. It’s a standalone, but if you’ve read Influenced and Fall Guy, you’ve met Isaac and Levi. Isaac is a New York fireman who goes to Serenity, PA to train some volunteer fire fighters. That’s where he meets Levi. The sweet, younger man who is still struggling with his sexuality. He’s not ready to come out to his friends and family and his small town. Isaac isn’t going to force him to do anything he’s not comfortable with, but he wants to spend time with him. He’s attracted to him, but he also likes him. The more time they spend together the better it gets. It also gets more complicated. Will Levi be able to live his life the way he wants? What happens when it’s time for Isaac to go back to New York? They are mature adults just trying to be happy in a world that’s not always accepting. I felt for Levi and his struggle. He’s much stronger than he thinks! Isaac is just so fun, caring and good at his job. I really enjoyed this story! I loved the age gap and the sexiness! And all the friends and family!

Former model and B-list actor (B meaning really bad) Isaac Seidel is now a NYC firefighter on special assignment in the one-horse town of Serenity, Pa. But all work and no play makes Isaac a dull boy, and when he hooks up with the most explosive one-night stand he’s ever had, it looks like country life might not be so boring after all.
Especially when the guy he thought he’d never see again turns out to be one of the volunteer firefighters he’s expected to train.
Levi Everett is a master at pleasing everyone—except himself. He’s spent his whole life hiding who he is and what he wants. It’s a lot more complicated now that he’s going to be seeing gorgeous Isaac Seidel every day. How is he supposed to pretend he’s straight when he and Isaac can’t keep their hands off each other?
Isaac has made it clear he’s only interested in friends with benefits, so when he returns home to NYC, Levi knows he’s gone forever.
Until he isn’t.
Trust doesn’t come easily to Isaac—he’s been hurt and used before. But Isaac is unable to forget the man he left behind, and in a shocking move, he makes Levi an offer that could change their lives forever. Now it’s up to Levi to put himself first, risking the love of his family, to go after his dreams—dreams that were unimaginable before Isaac but are now within his reach.
Because love is wherever Isaac is, and it’s the only place Levi wants to be.
Where You Are is a sweet and steamy, age-gap MM romance featuring two smoking hot firefighters who can’t seem to keep their hands off each other or their clothes on, whenever they’re together. It’s filled with found family, first time love, a swoony happily ever after and plenty of good old country fried chicken.

“I want to talk about why you’re ignoring me.” Without waiting for an invitation, he sat on the couch and stretched out his legs.

Admittedly, Isaac felt bad for Levi, who was pacing, growing more agitated by the moment.

“I’m not ignoring you. We spoke, but I work at Lucky’s. I’m not there to hang out and talk.”

“That’s not what I mean.” Sympathetic to Levi’s obvious distress, Isaac gentled his tone. “Can I assume you’re in the closet? That you haven’t come out to anyone?”

Levi’s face turned bright red. “Well…yeah. That’s part of it,” he mumbled. “You saw those guys. Can you imagine me telling them I’m gay?”

“I don’t know. Can you?”

There was no hesitation, and Isaac knew he should get up and leave. He had no idea why he was there in the first place. Then he recalled Levi’s nervous smile when they first met and his wild abandon later that evening in bed, and knew he wasn’t ready to give that up. Not yet.

Having resumed his pacing of the small space, Levi reminded Isaac of a caged predator—all that coiled tension beneath the beautiful, sleek exterior. Without thinking, he left his seat and met Levi in the middle of the room. He took his arm, and Levi froze. Isaac slid his hand up Levi’s biceps and curved it around his nape. A deep shudder ran through Levi.

“It must be very hard to live like this.” Moving closer, he pressed his chest against Levi’s, and Isaac swore he could hear the frantic pounding of Levi’s heart.

“I-I’m used to it,” Levi whispered.

“Maybe so.” Isaac dipped his head and kissed Levi’s lips, his cheeks, and the flutter of his lashes. “But you shouldn’t have to be. You don’t have to be.” His fingers gripped Levi’s shoulders and pulled him nearer.

Release Blitz & Review – The Rules of Dating, Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland

Title: The Rules of Dating
Authors: Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland
Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance
Release Date: September 19, 2022

It all started when I hosted a little party for a bunch of new friends.

Though “friends” might not be the right word since the invitees were all the women I’d found out my boyfriend was talking to behind my back. When the guest of honor walked in—aka my now ex—things took a turn…
Unfortunately, a stranger witnessed the whole blowout. I was in a mood that night and ended up giving this gorgeous guy an attitude, too. As if my night could get any worse, before he stormed off, he informed me he was actually my landlord.
Colby Lennon, along with three of his friends, owned the building where my tattoo shop was located. He and I were total opposites. He wore a tie, oozed confidence that came with years of women falling at his feet, and wasn’t afraid to say what he wanted, which lately—was me.
I hated that I found myself attracted to him. Especially since I was supposed to be on a self-imposed dating hiatus. Yet the two of us couldn’t seem to stay away from each other. We started hanging out, as friends. I even went as far as making rules for what he’d dubbed our “undates.”
But eventually, our explosive attraction became too much to bear, and we broke our resolve. I let my guard down and started to really fall for Colby.
Nothing could have prepared me for the ride he took me on. And I certainly wasn’t prepared for where I’d wind up when the ride was over.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Sandra's Review

5 out of 5 stars

The Rules of Dating is the newest standalone by one of my favorite duos, Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward. I just know when I open their books I am not going to want to put it down and this one is no different. If you follow my reviews then you know I don’t read blurbs unless it’s a new-to-me author until I am about to review. I do this so I don’t spoil anything, this blurb is amazing so I will make it fast.
Billie and Colby have been burned in the past, relationship wise. Billie was actually on fire on the night she meets Colby at her tattoo shop so it was the cutest meet-cute but it is an unforgettable one. Neither one of them could stop thinking about it but it was not the time to date so they decide to go on undates. Errands. Adulting. Hanging out with others. All innocent. Friends totally think of their friends naked, right? Yep. One-hundred percent. Will their undates turn into real dates?
I don’t want to get too far into the storyline but I can say it’s adorable, flirting, sexy, beautiful and in Vi and Penelope fashion, there is an oh, fuck moment. Those always get my heart going and I am here for it. I can also say that I love these characters! Billie a badass boss lady. Colby is a sweet hottie in a three-piece suit. I also have crushes on his three friends. I definitely have my favorite and I am sure Kara (blog partner) knows exactly who 🤣.
Overall… GO READ THE BOOK! You will love it. Hard.
“I kind of like bossy Colby.”
“Oh yeah? Well I’m happy to boss you around, sweetheart. Just get your ass over here to my bedroom, and I’ll show you.”
“His voice is beautiful, and I’m sure he’s a very talented musician. But I’m not interested in Holden.”
“No?” She shook her head.
“How about any of his friends? Because I’ve heard dudes who can bake a cake are way better in bed than the ones who can sing.” Billie’s eyes sparkled. “That cake was pretty delicious.”
She bit her lip. “Fine. Yes, we can be friends.”
“Great.” I winked. “But just to clarify, I sometimes look at my friends’ asses.”

Release Blitz & 6 Heart and 5 Heart Reviews – The Boyfriend Comeback, Lauren Blakely

September 13, 2022 | Posted in New Release, Release Day Blitz, Review | By

Some men are just off-limits. Like, say, all the other football players in the league.
But I’ve been crushing hard on one quarterback in particular for the last year. When Jason invites me to his place the night before my first pro football game, I say yes so fast. Our white-hot time together answers a lot of questions I’ve had about myself.
Then life happens, and I don’t show up for our second date. The worst part is that he’ll never know how much it meant to me.
And when I’m traded to his cross-town rivals, I know that’s not the time to serve up my secrets either. My team’s PR department wants to double down on our rivalry.
And they’re right. I need to focus on football, not on my interest in men. But the more time I spend doing media appearances and charity events with the generous, quick-witted, popular guy, the hungrier I am for him.
It’s a bad idea to knock on his door late one night. I could lose everything. He’s probably not even home.
But then the door swings open, and I have a choice to make.

Contents Include: Forbidden nights, first times, sexy athletes, nosy friends, a meddlesome cat, and two men who are arch rivals.

Kara's Review

The Boyfriend Comeback is Lauren Blakely’s new MM rivals-to-lovers, second chance football romance! I have been in love with Jason since we first met him in the Men of Summer Series (if you haven’t read that, go and get it now!) Every once in a while a book will just get you in the feels! It comes into your life at the perfect time and you feel it in your heart, body and soul. Jason and Beck’s romance is that book for me this year! There is just something about Jason’s positive attitude, openness, loyalty and humor that draws you in. Beck’s serious, but funny and his struggles made him more human! Together they complement each other perfectly. It’s not easy being the starting quarterback, especially when your crush plays for the city’s other team. It’s also not easy being out and proud in the sports world, but Jason and Beck make it work. They have their ups and downs, but their desire to be together is bigger than all the obstacles. Lauren never ceases to amaze me with her talent for writing deep, fun, sexy characters and she’s quickly become one of my favorite MM authors! Jason and Beck are two of my favorite characters of Lauren’s and you know I don’t say that lightly. There was just something special about these two. They are all heart and soul and their personal stories and their love story just got to me! I hope we see them again soon!

Audio: Teddy and JF were freaking amazing! I love this pairing more than I thought I would. They were the perfect Jason and Beck for me!

Sandra's Review

5 out of 5 stars

The Boyfriend Comeback is the first full-length novel in the The Boyfriend Zone series by Lauren Blakely. I recommend reading the prequel, The Boyfriend Kickoff so you get to see where it all started with Jason and Beck. The Boyfriend Comeback is one year later…
Jason McKay didn’t see this play coming… One year after being stood up by the LA quarterback, Beck was back and playing for the rival team in San Francisco. He never forgot their night together but after Beck not showing up for their second date was a hit harder than a sack on the field. He plans to just suck it up, smile and wave if he sees him. He doesn’t have time for distractions, he needs to lead his team to a championship. His first love will always be football so he needs to get his head in the game and his mind off Beck Cafferty. It’s not like they will see each other much anyway, right?
So fucking wrong!
Beck Cafferty has big cleats to fill. He was shocked that he was traded to San Francisco. Last time he was in SF, it was life-changing and maybe this is a sign that it’s time to explain to Jason why he didn’t show-up for their second date. If the man will even talk to him. They are now rivals after all. What he didn’t expect was that he will be talking to him on-air weekly! What he did expect was the chemistry they still share. It’s complicated, passionate, emotional, and very off-limits.
These two!! My God, they are fire! Between their banter and their heat between the sheets, they are everything! But, it’s a huge risk for their careers. Would their teammates, coaches, team owners and especially the fans cancel them if they came out as a couple? They are both under so much pressure already, will it be worth the risk to sneak around? Or should they end it before it truly begins?
I absolutely fell in love with Jason & Beck. They have their struggles and their strengths. Both make them even more special. They made me laugh, cry, blush, and cry some more! I can’t wait for the rest of the series.
“How about a little back-to-back action?” Asher says.
Jason tries to stifle a laugh but fails.
Asher rolls his eye. “Not everything is dirty, McKay.”
“But some things sure sound that way.”
“To you, Jason, to you,” Asher deadpans, but it’s clear he’s entertained by the Hawks quarterback.
This is want. This is thirst. And I will quench it tonight.
“C’mon. Get those lips on mine. You know you want to kiss me. Especially since you like my dimple.”

Suck This

Lani Lynn Vale

Release Date: September 13, 2022

About the Book

Blood, sex and alcohol.

That was what Club Worth was all about.

Ever since vampires had come out to the world, people had been obsessed. Take a walk on the wild side and see what the nightclub was all about.

Acadia Powell, on the other hand, didn’t do vampires. Nor did she do messy.

What she did do was stay away from people like Constantine Worth, Master of the City, and the most gorgeous man in the history of men. It didn’t matter that he had hypnotizing eyes, beautiful lips, and the sexiest body she’d ever had the privilege of laying eyes on.

It should be easy for her to stay away, but with each subsequent encounter, it’s becoming harder and harder to fight the growing need inside of her.

Constantine Worth knew that Acadia was off limits. Not only was she human and not willing to slum it with the undead, but she was also the baby sister of the city’s chief of police. The man that liked to arrest him every other day and twice on Sunday.

He should hate her based solely on the last name she shared with her brother. Yet each time he sees her, he forgets that he’s supposed to be playing nice. She sets his blood to boil, and each time she lets the verbal slurs flow, he finds it harder and harder to maintain his distance.

Soon, he will have to make a choice. Maintain his upstanding relationship with human law enforcement, or take what he wants, and damn the consequences.

Suck This is a new paranormal vampire romance by Lani Lynn Vale. I read everything Lani writes, so I didn’t hesitate to grab this one. While it has that signature Lani feel and vibe, it’s different enough to suck you in with the vampires! I love vampires so I really enjoyed this. Constantine and Acadia have chemistry, attraction and something deeper. He’s not just a vampire, he’s the Master of the City, and she’s human. But even though the existence of vampires is new for the world, she doesn’t hate them like a lot of people. And she can’t seem to stay away from him. From the minute Con saves Acadia, she has a target on her back. Now they are both in danger. Con will do anything and everything to protect Acadia. Even the one thing he shouldn’t do. Oh boy! I really loved it! Con was funny, sexy and powerful. Acadia is stubborn, strong and interesting. I loved her brothers and his best friends. Hoping we get all their stories too!

Blog Tour & Review – Bitter Sweet Heart, H. Hunting

September 6, 2022 | Posted in Blog Tour, Review | By

“A book that tells a story … a beautifully brilliant, powerful story about love and pain; trauma and forgiveness and discovering your truth while finding your place in the world.” ~Denise, Shh Mom’s Reading®

Bitter Sweet Heart, a forbidden hockey romance from New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting, is now available!

From the outside looking in, I live a charmed life: hockey legend for a father, my own promising future in the league, a great family, awesome friends. It’s not untrue, but it’s not quite that simple either.

My dad’s advice has always been to make hockey my number-one priority—at least until I make it to the pros. So, going into my senior year of college, I have a plan. I’ll put in the effort required to pass my classes, play hockey like my life depends on it, and avoid relationships. All I have to do is stay focused on the end game, and I’ll walk away with a degree and into a career in the NHL.

It should be easy.

But when a woman literally floats into my dock, just before summer ends and my senior year begins, I can’t resist one last hookup. What harm could a one-night stand do? It’s not like we even exchanged numbers.

Everything is fine until I run into her on campus.

It’s a big school. I should be able to avoid her.

Except she happens to be in my class.

And she’s not a student.

She’s my professor.

Bitter Sweet Heart is the second book in the Lies, Hearts & Truths series by H. Hunting. This is the second generation from the Pucked and All In series’ and I’m still weeping with joy from knowing we’re getting their stories. We met Maverick in Little Lies and this is his story. It’s emotional, fun, sexy and more than I ever hoped for. Maverick is Alex and Violet’s son and Lavender’s (Little Lies) brother. Maverick is going into his senior year of college, already an NHL hopeful. A fling at the end of summer is just what he needed. But when the semester starts and his fling is now his professor, things get tricky. Clover never thought she’d see the younger man she was with before school started in her class. What are the chances? They have an undeniable connection, but one they can’t act on while he’s her student. Clover quickly learns that Maverick isn’t your typical college hockey player. He’s so much more. Maverick is an old soul, much wiser than his age. He’s still haunted by things from his childhood, things that he’s blaming himself for. Things that were absolutely not his fault. Even though they can’t be together, they can’t seem to escape each other. A few coincidental meetings just make them want each other more. While Maverick is fighting to stay away from his professor, he’s trying to deal with the stress of what he really wants to do with his life. He’s always doing things for others, protecting them, helping them, just being there for them. But he forgets to do things for himself. What does he want? Where does he want to be? For some reason, Clover seems to ground him. She understands him and wants to help him see what a great man he is. How he needs to think about what he wants and what he needs. I could not love Maverick more if I tried. He’s such a good, caring man who is always thinking about other people. He’s considerate and funny and sexy. After years he finally has the hard conversations he’s been avoiding and realizes things about his family and himself that help him decide what he really wants to do with his life. (And those conversations had me bawling my eyes out!) I loved seeing Kody, Lavender and of course Alex and Violet. I’m even more excited about BJ’s story now! Overall, it was a fun, emotional ride. I laughed, cried and had to fan myself. Maverick is just one of those characters you wish were real because he’s such a good human. He restores your faith in humanity and makes you believe.

Keep reading for a look inside Bitter Sweet Heart!

When seven o’clock arrives, I introduce myself and explain that I’ll be taking over for Professor Connelly. I field a few questions and reassure the students that he’s okay. I also brought in a get well soon card for them to sign. I pass it to the student directly in front of me, then pull up my attendance list and start calling names.

The door opens when I’m halfway through, and a student straggles in. It happened in my English class earlier, but in a class of three hundred students, it’s easier to slip in the back door and quietly find a seat. That’s what I expect this student to do.

Except his phone starts ringing. And it’s not a normal ringtone. It’s a song blaring through the room at full volume.

“Fuck. Shit.” He’s standing in the middle of the room, facing the back of the class, every single student staring at him in wide-eyed horror.

He rummages around in his pocket and pulls out the offending device as Justin Bieber croons “I’m so fucking lonely” to the entire class. Instead of silencing it, he answers the call—on speaker.

A male voice that sounds like an angry father starts yelling. “Why the hell am I getting calls about you being late for practice, you’re—”

He spins around, gaze moving over the class as he takes in their looks of horror. He’s wearing a baseball cap, and the lights above cast a shadow over his face. “Oh, fuck me,” he mutters. “Hey, Dad, I’m in the middle of class. I’ll call you back later.” He rushes the words, so it all sounds quite garbled. Then he drops into the closest empty desk and slams his elbow on the edge on his way down. He sucks in a groan.

I give the student a look that I hope conveys how unimpressed I am. “Are you quite done?” I’m ready to go off on him, but he raises a hand and knocks his hat off his head.

“Uh, sorry, Professor. I think I might be in the wrong class.” His eyes dart around the room. “Or maybe not?”

“Professor Connelly is out for back surgery. Professor Sweet is taking over the class,” the student beside him says.

“Oh shit.” His vibrant green gaze, ringed in hazel, meets mine.

All the air leaves my lungs on a whoosh. The room tilts, and I’m suddenly light-headed. I can tell instantly that he recognizes me, and the silence in the room is deafening. Fortunately, he fills it by rambling out an explanation.

“Sorry about the phone call. And for being late. Coach kept me after practice and my dad’s on my ass because I had a bad game. I’m so sorry, Cl—” He clasps his hands in front of him and bites his lips together.

“Don’t let it happen again.”

My mouth feels like it’s full of cotton, and the rest of me feels disconnected from my body. Because this student, sitting in the middle of my sophomore class, is my summer fling.

My one-night stand who left behind an origami crane and a lot of memories I wish I could now erase.

Never Look Back

An Enemies-to-Lovers, Close-Proximity, Second-Chance Romance from A.L. Jackson

Available Now on Amazon and Free with Kindle Unlimited

“The spice was on point and the romance was swoony. A total must read.”

– The Boho Book Blogger

“This amazing story is dark and decadent, with the past never really being all it seems.

I loved his fierceness and his determination to make the past right again, with just enough Alpha attitude to give him a “lickable” edge.”

-Mere, Sweet Reads & Treats

“Second chance romance is my absolute catnip and Never Look Back is a beautiful, angsty, and gritty addition to that trope.”

– Nose Stuck in a Book Blog

From NYT and USA Today bestselling author A.L. Jackson comes an enemies-to-lovers, close-proximity, second-chance romance…

Logan Lawson won me in a bet.

The second I saw him sitting at the illegal card table, I knew I was in trouble.

Years ago, he sealed my fate and condemned me to a life I didn’t want to lead.

Yet he’s filled with untamed fury and thirsting for vengeance against the husband I hate.

Aster Costa is everything I never should have wanted.

The second she showed with her pompous, prick of a husband, I should have gotten up and walked.

But there’s no looking away from the woman who wrecked me.

Worse, I can’t stop myself from plotting to get her back.

I want nothing more than to be free of my husband.

I’m afraid Logan Lawson is the only one who can make that happen.

He might hate me for our past, but now it’s me on my knees begging for help.

Finding each other in the middle of it wasn’t supposed to be part of the bargain.

But once Logan touches me, I’m gone.

A torch is rekindled. A fire is lit.

Aster Costa has always been mine.

And this time, no matter the cost, I won’t give her back…

5 out of 5 stars

Never Look Back is the third book in the Redemption Hills series by the ever-talented, A.L. Jackson. You can read each book as standalone but I HIGHLY recommend them all because they all have a unique storyline and these brothers are fire. Protective, sweet with the perfect amount of alpha, and hot AF and the ones they fall for bring them to their knees.
Seven years. Seven years of hate. Seven years of pain. Seven years of being locked in chains. Seven years ago their lives changed and now they were in the same room again. Logan knew he should have just walked away but he was going to get back what was stolen from him. Her. If the only way was to win her, so be it. He normally wouldn’t wager for a woman but she wasn’t just any woman. She was the woman who ruined him. She was the woman who he could never forget. She was now a woman he didn’t know what to do with…
Aster loved him. He was her everything. Now she wanted to run. She had to be smart though. He wanted to set her free seven years ago, maybe just maybe he could help set her free now even if she had to beg. Their past is complicated, beautiful, and forbidden. It seems their present is the same in a different kind of way except now hate was thrown in. Can she show him that she can be trusted?
I can’t get too much into the storyline but I can say… OMFG! This man. Swoon. I have been falling for Logan throughout the series and now I have completely fallen for the man. And Aster, she is a badass and knows exactly what she wants. Together, they are fire! Their connection is beautifully poetic. It was awesome catching up with the family! I can’t wait for the next book, I was hoping Tessa was going to get her own story, she deserves it.
P.S. Make sure you get the bonus story!
“You’d do well not to underestimate me, Aster Rose.”
The first time I’d seen her, I’d known I’d never set my eyes on anything more beautiful. The girl was better than any flower or rainbow or piece of priceless art hanging in a museum. Aster Rose was my poetry.
“Well, I’m not sure what I’m doing tonight, but I’ll definitely try to make it.”
“Try harder,” Juni said, propping her hands on her hips.
Eden shook her head. “This one is testing out how far she can get away with the sass.”

WHEN FOREVER CHANGES (Forever Love Book 1)

Looking back, I should have seen the signs. Perhaps I did, but I subconsciously chose to ignore them.

From the time I was ten, when I first met Dylan, I knew he was my forever guy.

Dylan was more than just my best friend, my childhood sweetheart, my lover. He was my soul mate. We were carved from the same whole—destined to be together forever.

Until he changed.

And I believed I was no longer good enough.

Until he shattered me so completely, it felt like I ceased to exist.

And I’d never experienced such heart-crushing pain.

Until he leveled me a second time, and I truly wanted to die.

But I had to stay strong because I wasn’t alone in this cruel twist of fate.

I can’t help wondering if I had seen the signs earlier, if I’d pushed him, would it have been enough to save us?

Or had fate already decided to alter our forever?

For readers who enjoy friends-to-lovers, brother’s best friend, second chance, angsty new adult college romance. Some scenes may be triggering – please read the note at the start of the book.

NO FEELINGS INVOLVED (Forever Love Book 2)

Ryan James doesn’t believe in love.

It’s a truth he learned early in life.

He broke his golden rule one time, but Myndi trampled all over his heart, cementing his belief that love is a lie and not worth the effort.

Now he’s returned to his cynical views and promiscuous lifestyle, racking up more notches on his bedpost than he can count.

Until Summer Petersen comes crashing into his world, threatening to knock down his walls with her tempting body and sunny, sweet personality.

Summer is determined to lose her V-card before she starts freshman year of college, and the hot, older guy with the cute dimples, dazzling smile, and rippling biceps is just the man for the job. Ryan doesn’t take much persuading, and he rocks her world, giving her a night to remember.

When they walk away, there’s an agreement it was a one-time thing. Ryan doesn’t do feelings, and Summer doesn’t want to be tied down at eighteen.

But when she moves into her brother Austin’s apartment, she’s shocked to discover her new roomie is the guy who recently popped her cherry.

Ryan can’t believe he slept with Austin’s baby sister, and if he finds out, he’ll literally kill him. Keeping their hook up a secret is nonnegotiable. Keeping his thoughts, and his hands, off Summer, less so. Because the longer he’s around her, the more he finds himself catching feelings for the gorgeous brunette.

Summer doesn’t want to care for her older brother’s best friend, but Ryan makes her feel things she’s never felt before, and she’s slowly falling under his spell.

Embarking on an illicit affair behind Austin’s back has train wreck written all over it, but provided they keep their feelings in check, they can end this before he ever finds out.

It’s not like either of them is in love.

♥️ WHEN FOREVER CHANGES When Forever Changes is Siobhan Davis’ next angsty and emotional read. I have read almost all of Siobhan’s books and have loved them all but this one is my new favorite!! I wrote so many notes while reading but I won’t be using any of them. I do not want to spoil the story. The synopsis is perfection. Gabby found her forever when she was only ten years old. Their lives were planned out. Their love epic. He was her everything and she was his. Then things changed. He changed. She didn’t know what was happening to the boy she fell in love with. He was crushing her. Over and over. She didn’t know what to do with this. Everything was changing so rapidly. Will their love survive or will the fairytale end? She knew deep down love was still there but was it enough? Ok. That’s all I can really say and I know it wasn’t much. I will say that it was one of the most emotional reads I have read this year. I cried so hard. I also felt angry. I wanted to throw my iPad. I wanted to slap some characters. I wanted to hug some too. I was all of the place with this one and I loved it. My heart was in it from the very beginning until the very end. Overall…it was an emotional rollercoaster that gave me every last feel. I laughed. I swooned. I cried. I flushed. I cringed. It was everything I never expected. I knew Siobhan would get me angst but damn…the emotional toll was not what I totally expected. P.S Enjoy my tears, Siobhan. Quotes: “You deserve the world, Dimples, and I intend to give it to you.” “Oh, honey, don’t waste your time trying to figure out the inner workings of the male brain. You’ll just give yourself a headache.” “It’s amazing what one can accomplish with the right motivation,” I joke. ♥️ NO FEELINGS INVOLVED No Feelings Involved is Siobhan’s next standalone novel. If you read When Forever Changes then you might remember Gabby’s brother, Ryan. This is his story!! I liked him in her book and totally fell for him in his. I actually didn’t even read the synopsis but when I saw his name in the book I was so excited. I always read the synopsis before I write my review so no spoilers this one explains a lot so I will make this quick. No promises though. Summer doesn’t want to start college as a virgin. She doesn’t want to lose it to some frat boy who doesn’t know what he is doing on a drunken night out. She also doesn’t want to be tied down so she is on the hunt for an older experienced man who will make her first time a night to remember then walk away. She found just the man. Ryan. Just Ryan. He checked off all her boxes. Hot, older, sweet, and wants just one night. And oh what a night it was… Ryan didn’t see her coming. His new roommate. His best friend and business partner’s little sister. Summer. He was fucked. It’s been a month since he was with her. He hasn’t even been with anyone since then. He never thought he would see her again. And now, she was living in the room next to his? Yep. Fucked. Fucked because he wants her again. And again. Too bad she was off-limits. Summer wants to have the college experience. Frat parties. One night stands. Even stressful exams. She always wants Ryan James. Can she have it both ways? Can they have an exclusive friends with benefits deal until it feels too much? Ryan doesn’t believe in love and she isn’t ready for it. It’s a win-win, right? I loved this book! Siobhan always brings the drama! The perfect amount of it. It’s not too much to drive me crazy. It’s just enough to keep the pages turning. I loved the characters too. Summer is blunt, sassy, beautiful, and sweet. Ryan is swoony, funny, and a little broken. Overall…I couldn’t put it down! It gave me all the feels. In Siobhan fashion…the twists. It was also great catching up with previous characters. Quotes: “I have a pretty spectacular ass,” Summer says, wiggling her butt and winking. “I’d stare at my butt too, if it was possible.” “Is this your girlfriend?” Myndi asks, her tone hopeful as she pins Summer with an eager smile. “She’s mine,” Billy cuts in, strolling into the room like he owns it. “The ball’s in your court, Ryan. But plan your move carefully, because the next move is your last one.” ***I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book

New Release & Reviews – Sparked, Lili Valente

August 30, 2022 | Posted in Release Day Blitz, Review | By

Seven years ago, Sam and I were best friends and the goofiest computer nerds in New Jersey and, possibly, the world.

We also made a pact to meet up and get busy if one or both of us were still virgins by our twenty-fourth birthdays.

I assumed that was a silly pinky swear we’d both forgotten about until Sam shows up at my twenty-fourth birthday party, ready and willing to make good on our bargain.

Boy is he ready…

Gone is the lanky kid with glasses who made me snort-laugh when we played video games. In his place is a sex god with massive biceps, designer clothes, and a smolder that transforms women to quivering puddles of lust.

I’m out of my league with this new Sam.
But I’m also every bit as drawn to him as I used to be.

So, when he dares me to give him a chance to prove he’s still the same trusted kindred spirit I remember, I agree.

What do I have to lose, aside from my V Card?

Oh, right. My heart…

Kara's Review

5 out of 5 stars

Sparked is the fourth and final book in the V-Card Diaries by the fabulous Lili Valente. I’m loving this series and have been waiting for Jess’s story! The brilliant game designer finally gets her second chance with her childhood best friend. Jess hasn’t seen or heard from Sam since high school graduation and now he shows up at her twenty-fourth birthday party with a job offer and to collect on their pact to sleep with each other if they are both virgins when they are twenty-four. Sam never forgot about Jess. She’s his person and it was time he finally came home for her. She’s still as beautiful as he remembers, and sassy and spunky and smart. He just needs to convince her to take a job and spend time with him. Except he’s keeping a few secrets. He’s not about to go down without a fight. He just needs to convince Jess he’s worth it. I love Jess and Sam! I love that he grew up to be extremely handsome, but he doesn’t even realize it. And Jess is so funny and cute. Together they are a match made in heaven. I loved seeing Evie and Harlow again. I will miss these characters!

Sandra's Review

5 out of 5 stars

Sparked is the fourth book in the V-Card Diaries by the hilarious, Lili Valente. You can read each book as standalone but I recommend reading the series since this crew is friendship goals. Jess is the the last virgin in the household and her childhood friend just showed up to collect on their pact…
Sam and Jess made a pact the summer before senior year at coding camp that if they were virgins at twenty-four, they would be each other’s firsts. Six years after disappearing after graduation Sam walks back into Jess’s life on her twenty-fourth birthday. It was very unexpected and confusing. She didn’t think she would ever see him again. Was he there just to have sex with her? Was he really a virgin when he looked that good? He was not the lanky, nerdy teenager of her past. He had muscles, wore leather, and overall delicious-looking. And his flirt game was panty-melting…
Sam had to see her. For more reasons than their pact. He had two weeks in NYC to prove to her that he can be trusted with her heart and her lady-parts. He knows he fucked up all those years ago but he was here now to set the record straight. Will he be able to break down the walls Jess has setup around her?
These two are so much fun! I have been waiting for Jess’s story and it was so worth the wait. She is a badass game designer who doesn’t let many people into her world. Sam is nerdy-hot. Together, they made me laugh, tear up, swoon, and laugh some more. I am excited about what is coming up next and hope to see all these characters again.
“I have an appreciation for odd. And the way your butt looks in tight pants.”
“I’m a fan of your butt in tight pants, too,” I murmur, dropping my head closer to hers. “Another reason we should burn these khakis.”
“You’ve been glowing, honey.”
“Sparkling like you fell into Evie’s glitter stash,” Harlow agrees.
“You’re my dark ring of power, Sam. I’m helpless against your vibes, and it scares me.”
